Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
coastermaniac replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've gone to FearFaire in previous years and it's always been at the bottom of my list of favorites. This year, I went to it on the first saturday of Halloweekends and it still wasn't too good. I didn't even bother with it this past weekend. Someone mentioned improves for this year!? What improves have they made since last year that I apparently didn't notice? -
Most wooden coasters I can handle because I know how to ride them (leaning with turns and not putting my back on the seat). The roughest unavoidable ride I've been on is Mantis. I can never seem to avoid the pain that I get from that ride no matter how I try to ride it. Many people say Mean Streak but most times that I've ridden MS have been very smooth...and I've ridden it countless times.

Geauga Lake Discussion Thread

Like many people have said, I've always enjoyed riding Big Dipper. Whatever happens...happens. Realistically, it probably won't be saved. It's a part of Ohio's history and was a great coaster. -
First time going to CP in 3 weeks

The Starlight Experience isn't showing anymore for the season because the "Fright Zone" is now in that area. -
Roller Coaster Queues
coastermaniac replied to kk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Many of you are saying that TTD's queue line is massive, snaking, has many switchbacks, and really long. Well I've waited the entire queue line before and it wasn't more that 2 hours. So it's not too long. -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
coastermaniac replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When I was at KI on August 13 and 14, I think they may have had a big sale on Nickelodean merchandise but I'm not certain. I didn't know why they did at the time, but now I know why. -

I also think it's a bad idea that KI is switching to Snoopy. I do like the Peanuts theming (sort of) at places like Cedar Point, but at King's Island it shouldn't be. I've always liked the Nickelodean theming at KI. Kids are more familiar with that than with Snoopy. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Well think about this: at least for Top Thrill Dragster and Maverick, before the season ended on the previous year for their debut (2002 for TTD and 2006 for Maverick) they had already started putting up supports and track. From what I can see, they haven't started construction (at least visible construction). So if it's a coaster, let's just hope they can built it fast. -

Well last time that I rode Son of Beast it was a good ride. So I hope that they don't tear it down. But they could somehow smooth it out a little. So hopefully they tell us more info. soon. -
Best way to do Cedar Point...
coastermaniac replied to rockbook2000's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
First off, Blue Streak is a lot of fun in the first row of the last car (not rough at all). Second, the front of Magnum is where the bunny hills hurt. I can never keep my hands up when I ride in the front because I'm too busy holding on. In the back, I never have to hold on because it is smooth (arms up the entire time). -

"a few boring older ones"?? Blue Streak, being 45 years old (1964), is still a great ride. It's fun and has awesome airtime in the back. As for touring the park, I suggest you start with Millennium Force, head to the back, ride things in the back like Skyhawk and Mean Streak. You can skip Maverick because it's not worth the wait. Then head to Gemini, Magnum, and Dragster. Then head towards the front and ride like maXair and Wicked Twister. I suggest riding Raptor at night (shorter lines because people are leaving and don't want to ride it). I hope this helps somewhat. -

So the last time that I was at KI was back in 2007 when they still had the Paramount names and such. But when I went, Tomb Raider was closed both days. When they changed over to Cedar Fair, did they change the actually ride inside or just change the name to The Crypt? -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
coastermaniac replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was at Cedar Point about to enter the queue line for Millennium Force. A guy who was with someone walked over to see how long the line was. It read, "1/4 hour." He walked back over to his friend and said, "1/4? I don't want to wait 25 minutes!" I guess some people didn't do so well in math class. -

Cedar Point in May, a good idea?
coastermaniac replied to worknman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The weekday after opening weekend shouldn't be busy. And as others has said, the weather can be warm or cold, it's Ohio - it is always different. -
One that I can think of is SoB at KI

Most memorable coaster moment of 2008?
coastermaniac replied to TheHulk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I got stuck on Magnum at Cedar Point for about 15 minutes. After they got us off the lift hill, they took the whole train up through the exit of Millennium Force and we were able to ride without waiting in line. -
Son of Beast or Beast
coastermaniac replied to dragsterfan420's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think Son of Beast is way better than The Beast. Don't get me wrong, The Beast is still an okay coaster, it's just the ride is too rough and it bangs your head around too much. Son of Beast is much smoother and has a better first hill. But I wish I could of ridden it with the loop. -
What movie did you see last? It could of been in the theater, or on television. I know that there are other threads that talk about movies and such, but just post the movie that you've seen last. My last movie that I saw was "You Don't Mess With The Zohan."
