  1. There is that word again. Nothing was 'confirmed' in that video. Will it open in 2017? We don't know. Will it open in 2018? We don't know. When will it open? we don't know You wanna know who know? Not us. But guess who knows. youre right. not us. Can we please go back to talking about skyrides and boats please. lol. Are you serious? The video said 2018 with the RMC hint - What more do you need? That's as close you can get to a confirmation without literally announcing it. If you want to get into semantics about the word "confirmation," you need a better use of your time. We had this argument about 50 pages ago when the video was first released. A video that is supposed to be funny and entertaining doesn't confirm anything. (And I expect this ride to open in 2018.) Especially when Tony Clark, who loves to mess with us, was involved in said video.
  2. ^ I like WT more than Corkscrew, that's about it
  3. I've stayed at the Fairfield across the street and it was nice like you'd expect from a Fairfield (or Marriot in general), I'm not sure what prices would be like around 4th of July.
  4. I have visited the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii, which is pretty much a theme park without rides.
  5. But I'm sure when he said that he was referring to the RMC Mean Streak that will be announced in August for 2018
  6. ^ and he said he's not done yet either
  7. When did the offseason turn into almost a counseling session about our social awkwardness Only 120 offseason days left.....
  8. That's what some were saying about 2017 a year ago and we saw how that ended up turning out.
  9. So where exactly was this tunnel? I can't seem to picture where it is.
  10. If Lightning Rod is like Outlaw Run, then the lights are at the back of each car so you can't see your seats, but the seat in front of you. But, you know better than I do.
  11. I feel like this should still be the parks attitude. If I go to a park and ride all of their coasters and rides except for one that was closed I don't think that I should deserve a refund. I still rode rides. If parks gave refunds or rain checks for one or two closed rides, CP would be giving out so many rain checks due to how often a few of their rides close because of wind. If you go to a park, you should expect there to be closed rides, like someone said earlier, it is stupid to go to a park for one ride. Especially if it is a prototype ride that has had operating issues. (And I know your post wasn't directed towards Dollywood, but the industry as a whole, I'm just using LR as an example)
  12. Ok, it had been a few pages since I read the original post and other posts about it made me think I was right. But either way, he wasn't comparing Lightning Rod to the Disneys policy. He was comparing Disneys hurricane policy to Dollywoods rain policy. But anyway, I feel like this argument is a waste of several pages of discussion, and it also shows that the offseason is approaching
  13. He wasn't comparing anything about Lightning Rod to Disney's hurricane policy. He was saying that it was much easier for him to get his tickets refunded at Disney (without asking for a refund), than it was for him to get a new season pass to replace his older one that was causing issues at Dollywood. Nothing about Lightning Rod. Also, I have no experience with Dollywood, but if they didn't want you to keep the old passes, it wouldn't be an option. So, about this new drop tower and mat slide in 2017
  14. It won't be a wooden coaster, but I think a beyond vertical drop would be the first for a hybrid. Good point. However, if CP would get another launched coaster would they get the record for most launched coasters at one park (they currently have three, Maverick, TTD, and Wicked Twister). Or do they already have that record?
  15. they are full of more people thinking that the Christmas video confirms the opening year
  16. dsteph isnt comparing the roller coaster to the hurricane. He just said that Disney customer service refunded his tickets (which could've been used on any day of the season, when the park was open) without asking questions (and without him asking for a refund) even though they didn't have to. He also said that Dollywood wouldn't do that unless they got manager approval because they do what their book says. Now, I'm not saying Disney has better customer service than Dollywood; I don't have experience with either.
  17. Corkscrew and Mad Mouse are sort of painful, but those are the only coasters at VF that I would describe as painful. VF really has a good coaster lineup for not having a B&M and Steel Venom being their Intamin coaster. VF also has a great collection of flatrides between Power Tower, Xtreme Swing, Northern Lights, and the new star flyer. Can you at least use insulting names that make sense?
  18. I'll consider it to open in whichever year it has riders I've never actually been a part of the opening year debate and I'm not on either side, but more things point towards a 2018 opening.
  19. It's also fun to be able to ride the roller coaster
  20. wut? The park literally JUST CONFIRMED 2018. It's time to accept what the park says as truth. A random screen on a laptop saying 2018:Richard Michael Crosby in a video from Cedar Point that is supposed to be funny and entertaining is not a CONFIRMATION. I'm not saying this will open in 2017, I'm just saying that unless the park officially posts an announcement saying, "Meaner Streak will be opening in 2018", we can't confirm what year it will open. Tony Clark could've put that in the video for fun, even if it were to open in 2017, I don't think they would've put 2017 in the video. Again, I'm not saying this will open in 2017, so don't tell me to wait in line Thank you for this comment. You can't tell the opening date for a coaster through one little teaser. I blame Coasterbill for this mess. Serious question... at what point will you people come to grips with reality and accept the fact that it's not a 2017 ride? Winter Chill Out? Opening Day? Closing day? I can't wait until this dumb conversation is over but at this point I'm convinced that even if the park opens for the season with no announcement and a ride that's still under construction people still won't be satisfied and they'll expect them to secretly open it later in the season without any marketing at all for their multi million dollar investment. We aren't saying it's opening in 2017, we're just saying that the Christmas video didn't confirm it opening in 2018.

  22. 200 feet doesn't look likely here. Yeah, they are obviously making the lift steeper so they have room to add a pre-drop section Just because they're adding height to the lift does not in any way mean that it's going to be 200 feet tall. Is it possible, sure. Is it likely? I would say no, but we can debate that... but you're making a big leap here. I was kidding. None of us know what will happen until it is announced. Except Tony, of course

  24. That number seems a little low to be honest. It would be interesting to know how many trash cans are on the peninsula between hotels and the park
  25. FastLane is definitely not necessary if you can go at the right time. We went for three days (Wednesday-Friday) in June. We thought about buying FL passes in advance, but didn't. That was definitely the right decision because Valravn was the only ride that we waited more than fifteen minutes to ride on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday was busier but we had already ridden everything at least once and didn't need to get many more rides in.
