  1. And those coordinates are still 342 mi. from WoF. I do find it interesting how many different parks Cedar fair is using in whatever they are teasing, however. I wonder if whatever it is will be going to multiple parks.
  2. Do we usually know by now when Cedar Fair parks are making 2019 announcements? Didn’t they do them on National Roller Coaster Day last year, which is 4 days away?
  3. But the coordinates on the envelope are for Kings Dominion and California’s Great America. I don’t think this necessarily means anything for VF just because of the Mississippi reference.
  4. Notice it says 1969 (Cedar Creek Mine Rides opening year) and 2019 next to the word “diagram”. Maybe it’s closing next year and with the Dino’s likely leaving soon that could be a large area for something new.
  5. Um...River Blast (2010) and Time Traveler (2018). I'd say the company is open to the idea of buying two major rides from Mack within a decade of each other. SDC also built Powder Keg in 2005 and the Barn Swing in 2007 both from S&S. And if we’re talking about any park-Dollywood added Mystery Mine in 2007 and Firechaser Express in 2014 both from Gerstlauer. Cedar Point also has many examples- Millenium Force (2000), Wicked Twister (2002), Top Thrill Dragster (2003), Maverick (2007), and Shoot the Rapids (2010) all from Intamin and then Gatekeeper (2013), Rougarou (2015), and Valravn (2016) from B&M. So there are many examples of parks buying multiple rides from the same company in just a few years. But, I would still prefer SDC go with another B&M before getting another Mack coaster.
  6. Valleyfair’s Enterprise was actually removed in 2016 to build North Star (a Funtime swing ride) for 2017. I am also sad to see another one of these rides get removed, as I really enjoyed them. I’m sure they’ll replace it with something just as fun though. Witches Wheel closing makes me wonder how long it will be before Zulu at Worlds of Fun is closed. Maybe they have been using these removed rides for parts for the ones that are still operating?
  7. The company is definitely at fault because someone should’ve seen the storm coming and warned the drivers to not go in the water. It is very possible, however, that the drivers of the boats that were in the water were unaware of the severe storm being so close to them. I just don’t understand why the boats have those covers for the windows. In what situations are those useful or necessary to have? When those things are up there is no possible way 31 people would be able to escape in this type of situation. Also, SDC tweeted that the Showboat will be closed again tomorrow.
  8. If this was the case, then there should’ve been someone telling the driver to not go into the water. It shouldn’t be the drivers responsibility to check the radar and see what’s coming. I wonder if they had anyone monitoring the storms coming.
  9. As a member of “this generation” I feel the people I know are for the most part not lazy and are too busy to be working a job that doesn’t allow for part-time scheduling (as it sounds like CP doesn’t like scheduling shorter shifts). Maybe if CP would allow for some part time scheduling they wouldn’t have as many staffing issues. Besides, I wouldn’t want the people I know and consider to be lazy making my food or being in charge of a roller coaster.
  10. I was at the park Wednesday, May 16 and had a great day. We arrived a little after 11 and were done by 3. Everything was a walk on for most of the day. Delirius was closed every time I saw it, but I did get my first rides on North Star. Rides for the day: Wild Thing- 4 X’treme Swing- 3 Power Tower (drop side)- 2 High Roller- 1 Renegade- 2 Excalibur- 1 North Star- 2 Steel Venom- 1 Northern Lights- 2 Pretty good day considering I got 18 rides in less than 4 hours.
  11. When we went to CP last year we stayed at Breakers and thought it was well worth the price to be able to walk wherever we needed to go, but I can understand why regular visitors with platinum passes wouldn’t want to pay to stay on property every visit. Random question: when the park is closed during the week like it is this time of year, can people still stay in the hotels on the peninsula every day? I don’t know why anyone would want to do that but am just wondering if they can.
  12. ^One employee at the park is not confirmation of anything.
  13. I saw that too, and thought... "Oh, look... A fine example of lack of education in our society." Like, do people not know how to be civilized?? Oh, my thought was “I hope he was removed from the park for making obscene gestures towards the cameras”
  14. I'm glad the restraints will just be a lap bar. That should make the ride seem more fun/scary. I'm also glad they are getting three trains, even if they will rarely run them all after the first season or two of it being open.
  15. If a ride were to be removed, wouldn't they have announced that by now? Usually parks announce ride closures before they announce the replacement, right?
  16. Does Valleyfair usually make an announcement this early? I always thought they waited until later in the year to announce.
  17. With SDC getting a major coaster, I can't see Dollywood getting much of anything. Maybe they'll get the second train going on Lightning Rod.
  18. Based off of the pictures I don't understand where the track will go to line up with the entrance back into the station. That exit bridge also appears to be way to close to where I would expect the track to go. All will make sense in only 11 days
  19. I mean, it looks awesome, but Mean Streak??? Mean Streak does look amazing, but I think it just comes down to what he likes most in a coaster. And it already seems like Time Traveler will be an exceptionally unique experience. Already this coaster looks amazing and there's probably only about two hundred to three hundred feet of track placed. Mean Streak seems like it will be all about that airtime with a few inversions while something tells me that Time Traveler will be all about the positive g-forces and inversions. Although it definitely would be a nice surprise if it had some airtime moments. Mean Streak looks great, but it’s really not innovative (from what we’ve seen so far). I’ll most likely be riding RMC Mean Streak and Time Traveler on both of their opening weekends. But I put a greater value in innovation than stats. Though Mean Streak looks great, it will most likely ride like every other RMC, which is far from a bad thing. But with Time Traveler (or whatever they decide to name it) you’re riding something unlike anything else in the world. How cool is that? The exact same thing happened in 2013 with Gatekeeper and Outlaw Run. Tried and True vs. Crazy cool, innovative ride. I distinctly remember people being more excited for Gatekeeper, because the stats were impressive and everyone loves a good B&M. But nowadays, I don’t know anyone who would say that Gatekeeper is a better coaster than Outlaw Run. Mean Streak really just looks like a larger version of every other RMC Iron Horse conversion. Again, that’s NOT A BAD THING!!! But I’d like to participate in something exciting, new, and innovative instead of a larger version of something I’ve already rode. But again, I’M RIDING BOTH NEXT YEAR! I know New Mean Streak will be a great ride, but in my opinion a ride that contains many "world's firsts" like SDC's is said to have should be considered best new ride before a ride that has been done before, even if it is much better than the existing ones. However the new coaster at SF Fiesta Texas should be true competition for this title. That is truly a "world's first" and whenever RMC does something new and awesome that ride seems to win best new coaster (OR 2013 & Lightning Rod 2016).
  20. Wow, schools start early around Dollywood. Most schools in my area don't start until at least the 23rd. I don't understand why they are open Wednesdays but not Tuesday or Thursday. I am sure they have their reasons, but I wouldn't think many people would go on a Wednesday if they can't visit the park on Tuesday or Thursday. The Wednesdays would be great days for the locals to go.
  21. Maybe Mack is designing their own version of the flying coaster and we're seeing that I wonder if they are doing a mix of the flying/wings theme with the time traveler theme?
  22. I agree. If the park were to just put it as CD right away then people would be expecting it to be shut down and if things do go well then Dollywood could open it anyway.
  23. I know, I was being sarcastic saying that, but I figured someone would say it's a reference to something other than their opening year eventually
  24. Or maybe 1870 means it will be 18 stories tall and have a top speed of 70 mph But, I also just thought they used that number because they opened in 1870.
