  1. ^Thanks for the info! I'm used to going there, and having there be virtually no wait for my beloved Kraken, so this VR thing is definitely bad news for those days... I guess I'll have to make it my first stop in the park, assuming I end up going in November as presently planned!
  2. So, is there no way to ride Kraken now going through a normal line, even if you don't want to do the VR? If not, that really stinks! Way to foul-up one of my favorite coasters!
  3. Intimidator and Maverick I'm aware of, but which other two coasters in that list were modified to lessen their intensity? Not challenging your assertion, just curious, informationally, because apparently I'm not aware of whatever modifications were made (I'm assuming Skyrush and Volcano? I know MF very well, and am pretty sure it's never been modified.)
  4. Storm Runner is an Intamin Accelerator model, so that would be another one that is different from the oval. I don't have much memory of the brakes, however, which is probably a good thing!
  5. I like GateKeeper a lot, but I'm glad my woman is definitely a Maverick, if we're comparing to coasters here! (Which is also a beautiful coaster to look at, but additionally is... well... you know...) breaks down a lot, and occasionally someone pukes on her?? NOT where I was going with that, but you got a good out of me!
  6. We were wondering whether the wooden floor below the inversion would be staying or not, and it appears now that it is gone. So that is good! Can't wait to get out there and ride this thing!
  7. Back when it was there, I remember Wildcat at Cedar Point always having a ridiculously intense, and abrupt stop. It was the worst part of an otherwise really fun coaster!
  8. Not counting really small parks, like CJ Barrymore's (1 hour 48 minutes): 1) Michigan's Adventure - 1 hour 42 minutes 2) Cedar Point - 3 hours 3) Indiana Beach - 3 hours 39 minutes (I'd assumed it'd be SFGAm, so this was a bit of a coup!)
  9. I like GateKeeper a lot, but I'm glad my woman is definitely a Maverick, if we're comparing to coasters here! (Which is also a beautiful coaster to look at, but additionally is... well... you know...)
  10. I still can't shake the feeling that the next coaster "addition" at BGT will be an RMC conversion of Gwazi, perhaps keeping the dueling element. I don't believe we'll see this until 2019, however... As such, I think whatever this new area is being cleared for is either Resort related, or Expansion related, for a little further down the line.
  11. The worst time I've gotten nauseous at an amusement park (and it wasn't from something I ate, or the flu, or whatever ruined the end of my trip to Dollywood last year and screwed me out of three more night rides on Lightning Rod), was actually ALSO at Kings Island, and it was a super hot, and muggy day. My solution, that likely prevented a protein spill (still have yet to ever do that at a park - made it out of Dollywood at least!), was to go into the air conditioned Starbucks, and actually lie down for a bit and recuperate. It worked for me, and I was back at it by the end of the day. Just an idea for the future, if it happens again. Hit the A/C places, and give it an hour... Nice future itinerary, BTW! Those are some great looking trips, and you should have a blast at all of those parks! (Indiana Beach was fun when I went at least... I've heard it's gone downhill since then...)
  12. I'm not sure I'm going to wait an hour plus for it when I go to GAdv in a few weeks, because I did it at GAm last year, and have a pass and will be going to GAm a couple more times this year. However, if it's a shorter wait, I'll totally do it again, because I LOVED it! Definitely my favorite interactive shooting ride! It's a great addition for GAdv, and the placement is perfect as well, revitalizing that area (and I love that they kept the Chiller Observatory as an homage - I loved that coaster!) I think the only thing I would have done differently in planning, if I were GAdv management, is actually install The Joker last year in the area between Movietown Arena and Showcase Theater, keeping the DC theme in that same area, and leaving the prime ( and pretty) lakefront location for something... Well, a little more worthy of the spot! Still, getting back to Justice League, it's a great addition, and I definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't before, or are on the fence!
  13. ^Yeah, as somebody who did ride the Frontier Lift, I can attest to the fact that it was definitely the better of the two sky rides! It was awesome to soar over the water below, with the Paddlewheel Excursions chugging along, and then through the trees as you approached Frontier Town! I remember we frequently rode that lift, while riding the other one was more of a one and done type of thing. As much as I loved Iron Dragon (back in the day when it debuted), I definitely missed the Frontier Lift upon its removal, and older me, kind of wishes we could have Frontier Lift back, and lose Iron Dragon...
  14. What if I had June 16, 2018 in my pool!??! You get $5 still. Not a bad prize for being partly clairvoyant! (Besides, it'll likely break down again before then, so you could still be a winner!!!)
  15. I really hope that opening up and utilizing Old Country again becomes the focus of the next couple of years at GAdv. It was such a nice part of the park back in the day, pretty, and also seemed a little quieter, and the improved traffic flow was great as well! Put a Giant Discovery in there, potentially where it can swing over the entry area to the park (similar to SFDK), and maybe a couple of other small flats, or leisurely thrills, and it rebounds from being such a wasted part of the park.
  16. And our lucky winners, are those who had June 16th in their Office Pool!
  17. Honestly, I kind of hope I make it there before it gets RMC'd, as I'd like to get on a Roar before they're both gone! Sounds like I don't need to rush though...
  18. And I can't speak to '69 or the early 70's, but I can attest to the fact that as far back as the early 80's it was not running fast enough to do that either!
  19. I haven't ridden Roar, nor did I ride the one at SFDK, but in my opinion, except for rare circumstances, a coaster RMC'd is going to be better than not given the conversion. An RMC "Joker" (or something similar) at SFA, would almost certainly be a better coaster than even a smooth running Roar, would it not? Can anybody who rode both coasters (pre-Joker) attest to whether the one at SFDK was in appreciably worse condition than the one at SFA?
  20. And for passing on that, I give you props! Nothing says obsessive, intrusive, enthusiast more than hounding Park GM's and Owners and other VIPs for pictures! So, well done, in showing restraint, and not being one of "those kind" of enthusiasts"! I haven't ridden Dragon, but Ninja does really suck bad! Still, T3...
  21. It's at the point where I think he's just messing with us now... Or maybe I'm trying too hard to give him the benefit of the doubt here!
  22. This is the kind of statement I have a problem with. No one is being "nearly thrown off" of Cedar Downs. Come on now. I am one of those who holds Cedar Downs in high regard, but I have to concur with you here! I've never felt like I was about to get thrown off at any time, ever!
  23. I'm inclined to agree, especially since he said T3 was "great" and "I love it! Such an under rated coaster!" In the words of Admiral Akbar... "It's a trap!"
  24. Kanonen would be a great "fit" from a ride need standpoint at CGA! Definitely an improvement over a simple Intamin Impulse. Question regarding that particular coaster... I don't have the photoshop skills to probe this, but would Kanonen fit in the proposed Invertigarden spot at CGA?
