  1. I going to be really bummed when the streak someday ends and it valleys.
  2. Hmm. I will believe you in that Jambo junction will be closing ... but as for the rest, didn't you just join today? You have no reputation on TPR yet and we have no obligation to think you are credible.
  3. I suppose Kanonen was not included in this study. I found Dodopona's measurement. It just reinforces why getting to Fuji-Q is my wet dream. I never gave two shits about Stealth, and yet now I want it in my backyard.
  4. I imagine if it doesn't sell they put it in storage till it does. Its too expensive and good of a coaster to scrap it. They really could make some good money off of Kanonen.
  5. I like that first picture! Thanks for sharing an RMC surrounded by fall foliage. You are my hero because I have a hard-on for both.
  6. They're somewhere else on the property. They're on a plot straight across Allegany Road.
  7. "Frosty's Snowhill" There's no snow! Oh Texas.
  8. Why is there a family inverted coaster and an Intamin Zac Spin Inferno clone in one of the pictures of the "current" model from your Sept. 2 trip report? I don't know much about the ride offerings at this park but I at least know the coaster lineup, and those are certainly not included. There's probably a bunch of flat rides in that model that also don't belong.
  9. It's interesting that the new animation shows only triangular box track, and not the double splined track like the older animation showed.
  10. Hey, don't knock em. Those carnival flats can be some damn good coasters! Fixed. Looking at you, Superloops.
  11. ^I'm pretty sure you have to enter the park to "redeem" them before the end of the 2016 season (HITP included?). At least, I had to visit SFSTL in order to get my 2017 season pass. Considering you'll be visiting SFMM, SFM, SFOG, and SFGAm, I would go ahead and buy season pass now if there's no truth to this "redeemption" thing or if you can find a work around of it. *Disclaimer* : My father bought the passes and first brought this to my attention. I looked it up and verified that we did have to use the pass at least once in the 2016 season to get the 2017 pass hard copy. Why I am not entirely certain of the process despite having gone through it is because: A) Since we were renewing, we had go use the pass at the park our previous passes were registered/purchased at. I'm not sure how much of this applies to a new membership holder like you. B) We bought our passes on the Flash Sale back in September, which, IIRC, were the same prices as whats being listed right now. I thought this was only an limited time, annual thing? C) The season was not over yet in any park. Now, in some parks, the season is over.
  12. In general, a really fast lift hill into airtime on the first drop. In other words, cable lift hills, blah blah blah, we've already had this discussion... Only if the launch is super intense (Like TTD, KK, or Dodonpa ) do I prefer launches.
  13. Shockwave at Kings Dominion, Green Lantern at SFGADv... basically any standup. I feel the pain but the airtime on standups is too f*cking weird for me to care. I'll take the pain for the sake of the unique (almost frightening) airtime experience. Any Parachute ride.
  14. If it makes you feel any better, the concepts sounded like it would be a love child of Blue Fire & Cobra's Curse. As long as it's not one of the new ones that Mack showed off at IAAPA this year, I'm happy. I don't suppose with this much land cleared it will be anything small like what MACK showed off at IAAPA, unless there is a large new area along with it, and which, in that case, shame on SDC for clearing the woods concealing Thunderation.
  15. That was my first thought. I figured the upwards launch had a lot to do with it but even of the examples of upwards launches I've ridden (off the top of my head I can think of Maverick), I can't assume they are easily comparable. Playing armchair engineer for a second, I suppose the reason upwards launches *MAY* be the cause of more intensity is because they accelerate you away from the pull of gravity, unlike a flat (okay, all launches are built at some angle for rollbacks and to help catch car engagement, but that's a negligible point) launch where the riders move parallel to gravity?
  16. ^Wow, that chart is really handy. It puts into perspective for me the force of a launch. I remember Alan Schlike bragging about Lightning Rod's 1G launch being very intense in a documentary, which bewildered me greatly.. I couldn't determine if he was being serious or just saying that for PR reasons.
  17. Exactly, or even like I said above, the ground can be altered to make things work. I thought about it, but I figured it would look a little weird. However, the idea just came to my head that they could bury the station, ala Air at Alton Towers (I'm not calling it Galatica because f*ck VR).
  18. I can't imagine any manufacturer turning down a bid because their model is 7-9 ft too high. If Intamin or S&S want to, I'm certain they could get their products down to 100ft.
  19. Colorado is gorgeous. The more time there, the better. For the record, there are some pretty cool batshit crazy attractions over cliffs in Colorado. It's not as barren as enthusiasts usually make it.
  20. I don't see much problem with Mexico. It gets you to Cuba and to the the other side of the continent from there, which puts you on track for the Eastern half of your trip. It seems to me that whatever benefits there are to fly in and out of LA would not outweigh the great cost of it, or time spent driving. However, I am sure you have a perfectly good reason for it, and that I should not become involved in it. Do you plan on flying anywhere in between up to Atlanta? How are you going to get to and from Cuba? I'm also not sure how it applies to foreigners who are traveling from inside the US to Cuba, but there is a travel embargo in place between the US and Cuba, and despite being "lifted" recently, it still applies to most inquiries except for specific categories of reasons.
  21. I'm popping in to say Knoebels before Bill cries. I see it is way out of your way, though. To fly into LA, cross the entire continent, and then return to LA for only three stops seems highly inefficient. Is there anyway you can fly into Chicago instead and end in LA, by working your route (in the order it is now) backwards and moving Denver, USH, and DCA to the end leg of the trip? Also, why not go to Florida while you are near it?
  22. They must already have a buyer. I suppose that is why they are able to push it back and get a head start on Valkyria, which is still set to open 2018, right?
  23. I know...look at all these absolutely horrible coasters! Lochness Monster was made by Arrow Development. Does it still even count??
  24. I can take a look next month. If there's any credibility to this now, then by then, we could see even more. And I'll be sure to take picture so that we aren't just "reading" about more "sightings". By then we will know wether or not this rumor is true, but who the hell doesn't like pictures??
