Coaster Hero

Maverick's quick transitions aren't a result of "bad engineering", it was designed to do so and runs exactly as intended. Blitz coasters are all about very quick transitions and direction changes, and that's exactly what Maverick brings. It can be very intense though, and it's really not for everyone.

Mainly just rock-work and theming installations, no new footers right now. Also, a large concrete retaining wall has been laid.

^The thing is though, that the ride isn't directly responsible for her death, and she had a pre-existing medical condition that played the main role here. There's no one to directly blame here really, not even the rider because she was only 10 and wouldnt know not to ride.

^Actually it's sorta the opposite. People think old-school B&M's are intense and forceful (ride any one of the Batman clones to find out) and the new, post-Stengel B&M's are forceless for the most part. Before 2009, people thought B&M only did things one way, but now we know B&M can do whatever the heck they want (Thunderbird is proof)

Wait is that also a Paramount park? I believe it was only the 3, but I could be wrong.

They always block off GL's Single rider queue with a trash can though. You know, I don't wanna look like a d*uche by moving it out the way so I just wait. When it first opened it wasn't blocked off though

People keep saying that a hyper coaster would be a "downgrade" but in reality, who cares? The types of rides are completely different, I305 for high sustained positive g's and a B&M hyper for lots of floater airtime. The GP certainly won't care, they didn't complain when CP got Maverick after MF, or when CF got WMG. The only people who will care is a couple dozen enthusiasts who happen to care about statistics over experience.

^I agree, I wouldn't be surprised either. Plus, all of the Paramount parks have gotten giga coasters and I'll be stunned if KI doesn't get one eventually as it's the only one left.

Not surprised this spiraled out of control, it always seems to happen whenever one person brings up Six Flags state and whether one of their parks needs a new coaster or not. Seriously guys, engaging in a flame war won't make it any more likely that you're gonna get what you want. But I'm not a mod, so what do I know lol

Interestingly, by posting the link to their article, you're only helping their cause which is solely to get hits on their website to get money from ads. The smart thing to do is just walk away or click away and not bring any attention to it

True that, It's always been a mystery to me! Actually (though SF doesn't publish ride costs) because Intamin woodies are Pre Fabricated, the cost of the ride goes way down so it's relatively cheap for a wooden coaster.

^El Diablo doesn't count (Not bashing the ride in any way, I've ridden it and it's pretty good, much better than expected) Someone brought up an interesting perspective; to ask the question, will this bring me back in the park? That's actually a really good question, and i'm still undecided if an S&S Free Spin would (exclusively) bring me back in the park, though I'm leaning more towards "not really"

^I'm pretty sure it will be open; it was open today. The maintenance probably wont happen for a few more days.

^^Good question, I'm really not sure. I think all development would temporarily cease until they got everything in order, and maybe they would have room for one more project, but of course this is just an educated(ish) guess. EDIT: Robb beat me to it haha

Everyone keeps bringing up RMC'ing the Hurlers, so my question is are they really that bad?

The new wheels on all the trains really slowed the trains down for a while, it was crawling over the airtime hills. So on my most recent ride on Sunday, it appeared that they had finally broken in and I got a really fast and great ride. The airtime was much better than previous visits this year, and the MCBR really had to slam the brakes to slow us down how fast it was. This was on train B. What train do you think is best/worst this season by the way?

^ I know a guy who knows a guy... Seriously though, someone just saw some construction/maintenance being done on El Toro at the park yesterday. Not sure how long or if it will be down, or when this will be done. Note these photos are not mine. Replacement pulley for the top of the cable lift Looks to be components for a crane of some sort

I guess no one has driven by the factory lately

^^Not exactly sure about it being down, but I know maintenance is coming/scheduled for soon, and I'm glad they're doing this instead of waiting for a major breakdown

El Toro is down, as they're going to perform major maintenance on the ride and there are huge crane parts at El Toro. Right now the upper cable lift pulley is being replaced. Also, I've also heard from multiple people that Bizarro has had a trim added after the dive loop (come on B&M, super lame )

I noticed that on that list that there are pretty much all the CF parks and not even one Six Flags park haha
