  1. -Kingda Ka's launch. I've been on it tons of times but it never, ever gets old. -That airtime hill on El Toro right before the twister section. The most airtime I've ever experienced is on that hill. It just has SO MUCH ejector it feels like if you weren't in a lapbar you'd fly all the way to the Golden Kingdom -Intimidator 305's first drop and turn. Don't need to say much about this one. Most intense sustained g's I've ever been through, and like most I blacked out completely -Fahrenheit's drop. It's not that high, but it was my first (and only) beyond vertical drop and it was really great
  2. I win because I went on the tallest coaster on Earth! Unfortunately unless I go to Florida in like 2018 I definitely won't be surpassing that any time soon 1.Kingda Ka 2. Intimidator 305 3. Nitro 4. Behemoth 5. El Toro
  3. It's time LC got the custom steel coaster that will make them a must visit park. That, with Boulder Dash, will be a pretty good 1-2 punch
  4. I love how he kept mentioning Hurler never gets removed (Long live Hurler!)
  5. ^I agree, it's very different in the back. The drop is insane in the last row, better than in the front. The airtime on each hill comes so late that you don't expect it at all so it's a very interesting experience. The g's on the helix are also stronger as well. When Nitro gets stale in the front row I take a ride in the back and that mixes things up so to speak. Bizarro though is not great anymore in the back from what I've heard, but in the front it's almost as good as the S:ROS days
  6. ^I'm not sure unfortunately. I know for a fact that it's for the regular coke cans (hence the Six Flags coupon thing at the back) but I'm not sure for other variations
  7. ^^That's a really good idea but I believe the name "Valravn" was trademarked by Cedar Point, not Cedar Fair.
  8. 1. Intimidator 305 2. Kingda Ka 3. El Toro 4. Nitro 5. Behemoth 6. Stormrunner 7. Fahrenheit 8. Dominator 9. Bizarro 10. Batman: The Ride
  9. I'd go on July 4th just for the Coke ERT. Even if it's packed that day you'll still get a bunch of rides on Superman, GL, KK, and Zumanjaro (which I believe is the selected rides for that day. The rest of the rides are on the days before and after)
  10. It's great teasing on Cedar Point's part, ever since I-305 gave them all those troubles at King's Dominion it seems Cedar Fair has put Intamin aside for awhile. B&M has been dominating the new coaster market for the last few years. It's only a matter of time I think though before Cedar Fair might return to Intamin, if you want edgy and flare...Intamin seems to do it almost every time. I think with a Intamin really excels in building world-class rides for a price that won't break the bank. Intamin can do things with a small budget that other manufactures (even B&M) simply can't. They always seem to get their rides right, only to have it ruined by some engineering/design flaw, so hopefully they've learned from their mistakes. I can't wait for the day CF returns to them
  11. Just from looking, KK's tophat looks more parabolic than TTD's so perhaps that may mean some sort of difference (like why KK has never gotten stuck at the top but TTD has on multiple occasions). On Kingda Ka you can definitely tell the difference between launches, because sometimes a train will crawl over the tophat, and other times it absolutely flies over it. Test train launches can be far faster than normal launches as well, adding to the slight difference in forces every time
  12. ^-I never even mentioned that I am an expert in any way with coaster design. Actually, this theory was mentioned by several other people and I only tested it in newton 2 (an FVD program similar to what designers actually use, only much less complex). - How can you say that it crests at 8-12 mph? Please, give concrete evidence of this guess based on experience rather than actual measurement (which, by the way you wouldn't be able to get unless you either happen to have speed measuring equipment or you designed the ride). From multiple people who work with KK, I've heard that the launches vary drastically, and one launch can be faster than another by nearly 10 mph, making the forces vary greatly with every launch (hence the magnetic fins at the top which act as trims to limit the amount of negative forces in case of an excessively fast launch). - The -1 G experience I mentioned is only a very brief spike, not at the very top, but right after the twist. If it were closer to 0 G's the top hat would be enormously wide. That spike levels out at the crest and it repeats on the other side, although nowhere near -1 G's on the other side. If the g's were sustained at that level for the entire crest, it gets borderline dangerous. A brief spike at -1 G's is harmless, of course. - Now of course I could be way off; I don't mean to sound harsh in this post and didn't word my previous post correctly, and I wasn't trying to sound like an expert, rather making an educated guess based on what I've done. Obviously this means I could be completely wrong, but unless some designer from Intamin answers this question there is no proof on what kind of forces one get up there.
  13. Having had experience with building tophats in N2, I can say that there is plenty of airtime at the top of KK and TTD. Near the crest it easily exceeds -1 g in order for it to be the correct width. I believe it's a psychological effect that allows you to not feel the airtime there, because your'e mind is still trying to register what just happened (during the launch) and it's preoccupied with this so you don't feel it. I've been on KK loads of times and if I try and concentrate and pay attention to the forces I notice how insane the airtime is if you get a fast launch, you can get stapled into your restraint!
  14. Also, CP replaces the wheels on TTD very often, much more often than Gadv on KK. This can make a huge difference.
  15. I305 kinda ruined every other coaster for me a little, even El Toro. Occasionally I'll get a surprisingly fast run or I'll try a new seat and that's enough to make things interesting.
  16. The "perfect roller coaster" huh? I'd personally take the few flaws in Intimidator 305, add a more immersive theme (aka something like what Taron promises to be) vary the forces a bit more throughout the layout so there is some more airtime, and add some great restraints. Incorporate the front entrance in said park too and some underground dives.
  17. "you guys may or may not be disappointed". Is it just me, or is that a bit nonspecific? Any ride may or may not dissapoint us. A Larson Superloop may or may not disappoint us!
  18. ^Can't wait to see what went into the planning and story of Fury 325!
  19. ^^^yeah, give us a teaser or a hint of some sort! Then we'll see if your info is right come August

  21. ^Take that with a grain of salt. It's just the GP being paranoid, as usual
