  1. When I went last month, I was in the same situation as you (Coming from NJ, only one chance to go). I say you should definitely wait until you get to the park to buy a Fastlane. The lines can be really long on Weekends (they were extremely long the day I went so I went ahead and bought a Fastlane). Gauge how crowded it is then decide whether to buy one or not.
  2. I just had to read through like 10 pages, and I had just checked a few hours ago! The next 15 days are going to be agonizing with anticipation. I think a dive machine is a perfect fit to CP's already legendary lineup. The GP will go crazy over it, they love (and are terrified by) the aspect of hanging over the drop, a vertical one at that. This is going to be great, and I'm really glad CP is doing the announcement at night so I don't have to wake up early! (*Cough, Carowinds 2015 *cough)
  3. ^Now that I see the comparison the two color schemes really do differ and it's noticeable, at least for me. Nice job, the coolest stuff is made when you're bored!
  4. ^yeah, then when you're legs get all the g's from the first flat turn it will turn to a sitdown coaster again! (jk, standup trains on I305 would be a crime XD)
  5. So The Beast has a questionable reach envelope because it's a rebel? Also on Grizzly on KD you can easily touch the handrails on the lift which are covered by chainlink. People were doing it so often the day I went that the ride ops joked that they would shut off the lift if they saw someone doing it again (People did it anyway lol)
  6. ^Actually (although coaster ride experiences are subjective) Roar at SFA was pretty tolerable for me and I actually enjoyed it (of course, I had ridden Hurler the day before )
  7. ^That actually does happen once in a while. For example, Carowinds kinda stole King's Dominion's coaster for 2015 (explaining why would take a paragraph and I'm really tired so I'll do it another time)
  8. Definitely try the B&M's in the back once in a while! Getting dragged through the elements never gets old!
  9. I'm a bit surprised that there's no teasers at all. CW isn't acknowledging the signs of construction in the park at all, and usually they don't just loudly announce a new attraction unexpectedly. Maybe a countdown or some other teaser will show up this month?
  10. When is the funeral? And will you be buried with mantis? Good one
  11. CP is killing me right now! I'm anticipating this thing so much
  12. ^Come on Robb! At least give us a hint!
  13. I'd imagine it really comes down to cost more than anything. Being in a desert climate, any other color would rapidly fade with the relentless sunlight/dust storms etc and add a considerable amount of maintenance if they want it to look good. Ahh, that's what I thought. If Tatsu over in California looks bad, anything with a decent paint job in the UAE's heat would fade very quickly
  14. Looks fantastic so far! My only question is, why all white paint again like Formula Rossa?
  15. That thing looks fun as hell but as stated above that would result in more than a few wardrobe malfunctions lol
  16. ^Well SOB was fairly recently so I'd count that one. The others, not so much. Shockwave will definitely be dismantled.
  17. -Built by Arrow Dynamics -Opened in 1987 -Had a major chain lift issue/replacement a few weeks ago (if that counts. if not, see below) -Used to be painted red and grey, now red and yellow Next Coaster: iSpeed at Mirabilandia
  18. This could be fantastic. I also have access to a 3d Printer at my school, and I was also thinking of doing this. I have zero experience with it though. Can you not just export the track into sketchup and then 3d print it from sketchup? Or do you have to use a specific program to print it? Also, in the renderings did you model those yourself because that's seriously impressive! Or did you just export from Nl2 or some other program?
  19. I don't think it would kill you, but it would be pretty painful. It's sorta the same case as I305's modification; they found that the roll rate (rather than the positive g's in I305's case) would be painful for riders and would damage the wheels and equipment on the train like I305 did. I saw that in some interview, but I completely forgot where exactly.
  20. ^That's the risk you take sitting in the front . For example from what I've heard at CP if you ride MF at night in the front you become the bug shield haha
  21. Lately for me B Train has been magnificent; very fast and very smooth. A Train is also pretty smooth, but noticable slower than B Train. C Train has had a rattle every time I went on. Nothing major, but it's definitely there. By the way I feel bad for everyone on that train that got vomited on; That's like my worst nightmare on a coaster haha
  22. I voted yes. As Robb said before, a small fraction of people who go to themeparks are on forums, but most if not all people use social media. A subreddit would help capture a different and larger audience, and would be a huge success....if done right, which I think is theoretically do-able.
  23. ^Uhh which train on Nitro were you talking about? I might go in a few days and... you know
  24. ^I guess Nitro's wheels finally broke in At the beginning of the season it seemed to crawl over every airtime hill on my rides, but very recently it's hauling through the course. I was beginning to get bored of it a little at that kind of speed, but now it's awesome again. Once the MCBR was completely off and I got borderline ejector on those last few airtime hills By the way I meant Kingda Ka goes really fast early in that last post, but I was thinking of El Toro ( ) and I typed that by accident. Coasters tend to go faster in the heat from what I've heard... not sure why
