  1. Photo I saw on Facebook of the fire.

SeaWorld today announced a partnership with the Abu Dhabi government-backed Miral to develop "a first-of-its-kind marine life theme park." It will be on Abu Dhabi's manmade Yas Island. Miral is funding the project. SeaWorld is licensing the brand and will incur no capital expense. The theme park will include the United Arab Emirates' first dedicated marine life research, rescue, rehabilitation and return center. It will have up-close animal experiences, attractions, and an aquarium. Planned to open ahead of the theme park, the research and rehab center will provide a resource for people in the United Arab Emirates hoping to develop or enhance expertise in marine life sciences, the company said. SeaWorld closes attractions and cuts performers - Orlando News Now SeaWorld has been planning a Middle Eastern park for several years. Last month it disclosed in SEC documents it had reached a definitive agreement for a project. SeaWorld will complement Miral's Yas Island portfolio of four themed parks, That includes Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, and the recently announced Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and Clymb. The Middle East is becoming an increasingly popular destination for theme parks. In a press release, SeaWorld Chief Executive Officer Joel Manby called the new park "a next generation SeaWorld that engages, educates and inspires."
  3. Yup, same complaints at Dorney. The newly developed houses back behind the employee lot, they are some of the ones that complain about noise.
  4. http://www.santaclaraca.gov/Home/Components/BusinessDirectory/BusinessDirectory/109/3649 Their master plan was released. Purposes 245 foot tall coaster, 230 foot tall swing ride and 80 foot tall water ride.
  5. Space Spiral, Magnum, and Mean Streak say hello. Whoops. Forgot about magnum and Mean Streak.
  6. Wow. That event. That event is just . Nothing like taking a horse-drawn carriage ride through a winterized amusement park in December. And I must add, Raptor looks beautiful as the tallest ride in the park. Don't forget about Dorneys Christmas in July event as well.
  7. Wait, wait, wait, can we talk about how freaking amazing and beautiful that photo is
  8. Any tpr member in or around the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area, stay safe. So sad to see this happen to two of the most popular and most beautiful tourist towns in the country.
  9. Dorney park- 25 minutes Hershey park- 2 hours Six flags great adventure- 1 hour 30 minutes If this counts, Land of make believe- 45 minutes
  10. Only thing I pack when I go on trips to amusement parks. Usually put my phone in the bottom right pocket in my cargo shorts for ride. Always know that the buttons are secure and I press it up against the seat.
  11. Something I just thought of: Do you think cp would get something along the lines of the Disney magic band for their resorts in the near future? Seems to be a little popular at iaapa this year. Room key, park ticket, possibly fast lane, and maybe money all on it?
  12. Saw this on a facebook group. Better view from the other one posted.
  13. My favorite park to follow is Kings Island. I love the amount of coverage they have with offseason stuff from the coaster trains getting their maintenance to the construction that goes on in the park. CP is pretty awesome too. I loved the periscope Tony Clark did the day after the park closed.
  14. Went up to work today for tear down. I love being up at the park this time of year. I find it so fascinating how parks just get torn down the way they do for the off season. They go from operation one day to a grave yard the next few days. Cut throat was gone by mid Monday. Enterprise taken apart already.
  15. Well to begin 1) we must find the boat 2) we must throw the boat a welcome back party 3) wait for the complainers to come out 4) wait for the complainers to complain about the complainers 5) get a Mean Streak update 6) hopefully see if there is any progress on Mean Streak 7) hopefully another cool Christmas video by the full timers 8) more post of the boat 9) Mean Streak And we can throw in the sky ride as always.
  16. Hit E-stop, then go below deck and hit the power switch. That's pretty much all there is to it. The trains get craned off the coaster later in the month. Most parks actually take most trains of the day or week after park close.
  17. Why go to math class when you go to the cedar point thread.
  18. Lol. I'm over that. I've come to realize Dorney doesn't get line. Hence why line was in quotation marks.
  19. Well, Tom Pesek is one angry pup. Someone should put him on a leash.
  20. Shocking Talons 'line' as of now. No switchbacks are open.
  21. Just saw the video. Definitely getting a revamp, rip.... for now.... 2018. Going to be interesting to see what happens.
  22. Did they do an unbelievably massive overhaul of them in the past four years or something? My last trip to Dorney's haunt was in 2011 and I was thoroughly unimpressed. I saw tons of potential but it was all wasted. It seemed like everything was thrown together last minute on a shoestring budget.
