  1. Dorney Park Haunt Preview last night Dorney had an employee preview of all the haunt attractions. The Ward: almost the same as asylum. They switched the story line around, and switched some of the rooms around. Wasn't much of a fan, but it will still pull the 2 hour line on Saturday. Gravewalkers: nothing changed much from last year. Didn't get to do the skeleton key room. One of my favorite attractions tbh. Trick or treat: changed some things around. Still pretty good. Age or darkness: probably my favorite scare zone. Love the skeleton key room here. Probably the best one in the park. Carnevil: put some work into this this year. Midway looks really cool walking up towards hydra. Blood on the Bayou: wow. Did they spend their time on this one. The story line is pretty cool for when you enter. The maze itself is awesome. Really makes you feel like you're in Louisiana, kind of. The detail are props are incredible. House of wax: not much changed here. Still think it's one of the least popular ones. Blackout: few things changed. They added a story line to this now. Deals with working in a candy factory. The attraction itself is now open to everyone, not just skeleton key people. They also added a new exit to it. Haunted Mansion: mansion got a little redo as well. Skeleton key room is kind of lame. They got rid of the elevator towards the end, upset about that. I believe they expanded it a little bit. It seemed longer than last year. Still my favorite haunt in the park. Cut throat island: didn't spend much time here. Walked through found out the skeleton key room was closed, and left. Liked how they moved it to possessed midway. They also have it fenced off so you have to walk through almost like grave walkers. All in all, it was a nice night or preview. All the haunts look like they'll be really nice once it gets to October and the actors are in mid season form. I only got a few photos unfortunately. The ward Some of the theme that went into carnevil. Blood on the bayou
  2. I was going to find out, unfortunately I haven't yet. Either tonight or tomorrow.
  3. Gotta stay at the Best Western Mason. It's a beautiful hotel, and it's not a 5 minute drive to Kings Island. Staff is extremely friendly. I highly recommend it.
  4. I second that as well coasterbill!!! I believe the year was about 05 if I can recall and wondering what the hell that building was going to be.
  5. I paid 550 for two nights back in may. It's a hotel, what do you expect?
  6. http://www.sanduskyregister.com/Law-Enforcement/2016/09/12/Bomb-threats-at-Cedar-Point-gun.html?ci=stream&lp=2&p=1 Looks like Cedar point had a "little scare" yesterday morning.
  7. http://www.10best.com/interests/travel-features/10-theme-parks-where-you-should-be-celebrating-halloween/ What are everyone's thought on this?
  8. Do they do this every year with the new haunts? If so that's cool. Wish WOF would do that with the new London indoor haunt No this is the first time they are ever doing this! I would love them and other cedar fair parks do haunt previews for new haunts. I think having a technical rehearsal on the new haunts would be a good way to work out the kinks before the masses come Next Thursday they have employee preview night, which is pretty ugh the haunt rehearsal for all the actors. Plus it's a very fun event for employees. I'll try to open a little report on it!
  9. I will do my best to find out that information and will report as soon as I get it.
  10. It was the same with White Water Landing since last week but I somewhat expected that with the queue being used for a Haunt maze. False. WWL was not down due to the new maze. It was down due to maintenance issues.
  11. This. Coming from an amusement park employee and from a company, Cedar fair, that strives on great customer service, I can not, for the most part, like Hershey. The two times very been there in the last two years, I've experienced awful customer service. And also, most of their employees look Ike they absolutely hate their jobs. I've seen workers practically laying on their carts almost sleeping. Their employers at their three point challenge game were actually like they were skeletons working haunt. Now, I will make one yearly visit because I get free admission. I love their coaster there. Yes I know Dorney has employees like this as well, but we get yelled out for sitting or leaning. And management drills it in our head about guest service and the parks corner stones. And the parks saying, Every guest, every day, every time.
  12. Decided to give this thread a bump up since we're nearing the ending of daily operations at parks.
  13. Reading through Facebook comments after the dorney announcement and someone said that the bumper cars, troika and new pavilions are coming from cedar point...
  14. https://www.change.org/p/dorney-park-wildwater-kingdom-keep-all-wheel-sports Must of got the idea from the KD person who started that petition.
  15. I don't know why all these KD fan boys are upset that they haven't gotten a coaster since 2010. News flash, CF has been doing the same thing with about 4 or 5 other parks. A park doesn't deserve a new coaster people they haven't gotten one in so long. A park deserves a coaster when corporate knows they'll see a wonderful return on investment. They saw big potential in Carowinds, that's why they got fury and a new Waterpark. They wanted to grow KI more, so they did. And of course they'll do what they need to cp to make it number one. CF does a 3-5 year plan for parks. Carowinds, KI and CP 3-5 year plans are ending, so now some of the other parks 3-5 year plans are starting. Which is why so many announced flats or water park. And some of them will more or less announce a new coaster in the next few years. Gotta stop b***hing about not getting a coaster. Join the club or Dorney, world of fun, Michigan adventure, and valley fair. now that I'm 21,i need a damn drink Anything new for them with haunt this year?
  16. Height limit is only around 30 feet back in that area I believe. Can't really build a coaster there. Is there a source other than a dippin dots cart that confirms that? There's a multitude of reasons that enthusiasts use to explain why their respective parks haven't built anything notable. This is when they rezoned the whole park when they put possessed in.

  18. Did the park say how long the expansion will take at breakers express and the tower at hotel breakers to build? Feeling it may take some time but feel they'll try to get it done fast.
  19. I also saw on Facebook someone saying that the desolation building was being removed as well. But here is the layout of the land for Parkside pavilion. The blue: that is the building we call the DIM building. It was used to store things for Hercules when he once ruled that area. That building is being torn down and the area inside the orange is the new pavilion. Hydra stays. Desolation building stays.
  20. "And more" could be anything. You just have to let your mind race and go to places that it's never gone before to think of what 'and more' could be. My guess would be that they'll give away stuff for people that are there.
  21. 7 year leases. Dp contract ends after 2018. Not sure when they were installed at valley fair.
  22. If I do recall correctly, didn't someone state that holding onto the ropes on the side was the only thing keeping them in their seat? So if this is true, could it be that his seat belt came undone, and he wasn't holding onto the ropes, and headed up flying out of his seat? Which then would cause the raft to go air born by the change in weight, causing the two women their injuries?
  23. Yes. But depending on what they add, that area won't be big enough, especially with magnum there.
