^Glad you enjoyed it So I'm back with a quick writeup on how last night went as I did my first Friday Haunt. No photos as I was too lazy, and while I thought my camera had life in it's batteries, they were dead. I'll be back Sunday anyway so I didn't really sweat it. The crowds are definitely here! We also kind of had a late start which was a nice little slap in the face to get there early as the parking lot was a madhouse. We got in probably 7:30-ish. As far as wait times goes, it was strange. As packed as the park was, the longest wait we had was for Toy Factory (Had to use alternate exit, sadly...which completely bypassed the whole 'it' thing of TF), as well as Slaughter House. I actually did not mind the Slaughterhouse wait since I could just start at Gold Striker and smell fresh lumber. The shortest wait during the peak of the night was CarnEvil which was a whopping 5 minutes! Cornstalkers line was pretty long when we passed by it so we came back later which was about 15 minutes of waiting. Massacre Manor was about 20 as much as it probably had the longest, most confusing set of switchbacks. Club Blood was about 10 and we skipped Werewolf Canyon in favor of the flyers. Noteable highlights and fails: -Seeing GP carrying a TODDLER (yes you read that right) into Toy Factory. Little Jimmy's never going to want to play with his toys again. -Walk-on rides on Flying Eagles -Good view of Gold Striker though being that it's night, it's hard to tell what's changed (which does not look like much). -If you hate the smell of cigarette smoke, last night would have not been for you. The scent was quite pungent everywhere...mix that in with a little dash of pot...some people were going as far as smoking a blunt in the queue and passing it off to their friends...right in front of park employees. -Dead Man's cove, while yet still very sparse, was a little more active last night and were actually messing with us when a friend was getting a churro. Still no music, which definitely makes the scare zone kind of fade off into the fog. I will have a nice little "End of the Season" wrap-up after this weekend with a final haunt report and GS porn. So sad that the end is literally just a day away...at least until GWW (where I can get my off-season flyer fix and gold porn).

Actually, my cousin did try it out. It was at CGA's "Boofet" buffet deal where you have unlimited drinks so, what was there to lose? It certainly was not carbonated water, but it wasn't Coke, Rootbeer, Mr Pibb, etc...she couldn't really put her finger on what it tasted like other than 'carbonated icee syrup.' I may try it out this Sunday, just grab a small cup rather than fill up my souvenir cup. As far as soda preference, I honestly could care less which soda the park gets, I'm very flexible. I like Pepsi, I also like Coke. However when I'm at the park I tend to stick towards Sprite or as of lately, lemonade...my 80¢ drink goes great with my almost $5 pizza

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
Angry_Gumball replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A couple times on the CGA's flyers as I'm getting an insane snap-heavy ride...riders in the tube behind me during the first ride, a little girl says to her dad: "Wow, that guy in front of us was going weird! What was happening?" The dad responds via telling me that I had my tub going really good. That evening on the same ride, this one random dude was in line and after a crazy and very noisy ride, the guy tells me that I should ride it again and show him how to do it Other moments, as much as this has been stated numerous times but I've seen a sudden increase over the past couple visits: Large groups of people standing right at the ride entrance all to measure their kid as our fairly large group is wanting to get in line. They can very well see that we are heading to that line but decide to block the path anyway...even worse when strollers are in the way. -
A new one to add to my list of things... Ride ops who decide to 'make up their own rules' when a sign says otherwise...as in the whole 'must have child with you to ride this.' Why I say they made it up is because the sign clearly did not make any mention of a max height, and I had ridden the coaster dozens of times, even had been part of a TPR takeover on it! Then there's the ones who complain that Haunt isn't very family friendly. I just want to bonk them in the heads and remind them how much of an idiot they are. Perhaps don't take your kids with you that are obviously too young for the event anyway. No joke, someone complained about the night club dancers in CGA's Club Blood. Hello, it is a night club theme'd maze. Lastly, there's the idiots who complain because they got wet/you got them wet in a wet zone. I got some dude mad at me as he was just standing in the splash zone (which is outfitted with a line of coin-op water cannons), back facing the nozzles. I decided that this would be an easy target and there were several others walking by. Next thing I know after hitting them, I hear a "Aw...come on, man!" with a pretty mad-looking face. I'm glad I had several other members with me just in case of anything. On the same visit, a fellow member (rolercstrluvr I believe) nailed someone who decided to be the bright one to pull out their camera...Seriously, you are standing in an area clearly marked as "Splash Zone: you WILL get wet!"

Types of theme park fan
Angry_Gumball replied to Hexeffects's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm kind of the whole 'Theme Park Fan' since I appreciate not only the coasters, but also enjoy water slides (mild and wild), variety of flat rides from something as simple as a carousel to things I can control (like a Flying Scooters or a Breakdance), to something further intense like a tower. I'm also a sucker for water rides, which is something my home park is certainly not lacking in Dark rides are also great as I often like to take a pause from the rush and ride something gentle. I on the other hand seldom check out the shows but do some on occasion...especially when I'm hearing rave reviews or know it's something one of the park employees I know is involved with. -
Also on the Pokemon discussion, I just picked up a copy of Black 2 over the weekend. I've played it in short bursts but am currently leveling up my pokemon. I started off with a Snivy and my party consists of Snivy, Riolu, Pidove, Lilipup, Psyduck, and Azurill...which may change in just a bit. I'll be ready to take on the first gym soon, just want to evenly level out my Pokemon first.

Yea, pretty much. It was a shift change as well and was a ride op I've never seen before working the ride. I've ridden Woodstock every time I visited over the course of the past few months now and have never had any problems. I did totally mean to go ride it later in the day when there was another shift change but completely forgot. Next time... As far as Taxi Jam, I may just have to take my nieces to the park one of these days just so I can get that credit. I highly doubt we will be lucky to have a ride op let it slide, as much as Taxi Jam appears to be the same manufacturer as Sea Serpent (which we can ride) at SCBB.

Awesome update, love the Skyward Sword bird statue reference, it totally looks like the bird statues in the game Yea, I totally forgot to note about the whole Woodstock thing. After walking through the station and out the exit, I decided to double check that sign so I can use it in my defense for future rides...yea, we really wanted to ride Woodstock's as you can probably tell by this post. We now at least know which op is coming up with these off-the-wall policies.

If they do happen to do a commercial shoot, I'm totally down for signing up! I've been watching more GCI coasters than I can imagine as of the past few months and it is only getting me even more pumped for Gold Striker! Troy, Renegade, Wodan, and Prowler come to mind, trying to spot similar elements (Renegade's first turnaround, Troy's first drop, and some of the airtime humps on Prowler...and the quietness of Wodan). Starting next season, I'm setting a goal for myself, I'm going to start counting laps on coasters...something I should have been doing all along.

While it seemed to be busy, just after we did Flyers, CarnEvil had no line, as well as CB and Slaughterhouse. It seemed that all the crowds went together like a flock of sheep to the back of the park as Toy Factory would have been easily a 30-minute wait. But since we covered almost everything in just over an hour I think we did pretty good!

^Gotta love college classes Gives me time to look forward for the next trip report rather than cramming them all into 1 basket. Oh, I totally forgot to add these to my trip report, close up photos from the initial swing on Xtreme. Priceless shot #1 of my cousin and Jeff Priceless shot #2 of Blue Fire Guy and I just milliseconds after pulling the cord.

I'm back with my weekly update once again! A few important notes: This time I did remember my battery for my DSLR (yay!) however shooting some Gold Striker photos proved to be a challenge as the Star Tower was down all day (or technically, it was up...half empty half full kind of thing). The next best spot to see anything is via the Carousel, or if you don't mind not being able to take photos, shelling out $17 but get a nice top down view, give Xtreme Skyflyer a try. Some Haunt tidbits: I am quite impressed with how manageable the park is even this late in the season. Crowds are picking up even for a Sunday but very bearable. However, the longest we waited was 20 minutes for Werewolf Canyon. We actually had all mazes done within the first 90 minutes...with taking our time too! Madame Marie's is still holding itself in the spotlight, being my favorite maze. I don't know why, but I was actually getting a little nervous walking down that portrait hallway as it was just...too quiet. Each of those portraits are a potential scare so, here's M4's 'it' moment as I like to say. Cornstalkers and Club Blood were the least standouts last night...I'm guessing that several may have been on break and/or called in sick or ??? with Cornstalkers. Normally this one's pretty solid but last night it kind of fell apart. CarnEvil was good as always, I don't think anything can really go wrong in there...especially after watching Blue Fire Guy walk right into a mirror in the mirror maze Toy Factory could have done a little more effort last night, though one of those dangling doll heads got me...was walking through wondering what happened to all of them, thinking someone ripped them all out until I practically kiss one as I walk right into it...couldn't see it Werewolf kind of fell apart a bit last night which was a bit sad. It was improving really well the past 3 weeks. Instead, Gauntlet vastly improved, more 'in your face.' I had a tough time voting between UA and Gauntlet as they were both pretty solid. Without further ado, here's my update, and the first of the wave of updates! First off, here's how the stadium's looking for you sports fans. Uh, Star Tower...why are you still parked up top? It's 9:56 already! Aw... And this is most definitely the reason why. Well, it's down for a good reason so we can't complain! It is looking even more bare back there! Coming over to the wall, we see the dirt behind getting a massive woodie Star Tower gazes over the construction site today. Being creative, we decide that Carousel Columbia should offer a decent overview of the site, as well as seeing how curvy she's getting NERD! (Snapping photo of Overlord mechanism behind stage) One last look at the site for now. Being that Fall weather is out to play, though we still are craving some log ride action, we decide to take our own personal log. There were no lines so we felt this should be fine. So...how do you like my new pen that I found laying around? Alright, back to some GS porn...there really is not much we can really do from this side now as it all looks the same minus the first layer of rails being done. My cousin and Jeff suited up for their flight. Taking in a nice drop! Alright, it's our turn! (Blue Fire Guy and I, first ride on this) I'm ready, let's do this! OMG This thing's insane! We have to now process what just happened to us Another random shot of GS Xmas lights are starting to pop up inside the park, this is certainly not lighting for Haunt. Other random shots..."Your seats are now potatoes!" No real pre-scare tonight but Madame Marie came to visit us again, and she took my soul! A new face in the Gauntlet. This guy came from Knotts Berry Farm, and did a pretty good job breathing the much needed life into Gauntlet. Some evening gold porn, not much to see now. Random evening Haunt shots from here on White Water Falls still had water running all night long. Some friends in Gauntlet Underlord is rocking a new look this season! The poor driver was ejected from his jeep when the werewolves came out to play. Night time insane flyers ride, Flagg O'Dim approves! Last photos of Gold Striker before we leave...this is what I call Gold Butt and Crane Butt. Alright, Good night CGA! Oh, what's this? Looks like Star Tower's defending his wood via firing lasers out!

Reride Policy
Angry_Gumball replied to biker7766's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Once again, I saw the re-ride policy in full force today, also heard that the ACE ERT on Flight Deck (CGA) last night was the whole 2-ride and go around deal...which tells me something more serious must have happened for this rule to be enforced that far. We did get lucky however when we passed by Drop Tower at the end of the day. Getting ready to get in line, we find it was down so we moved on. Once we're about 50 feet away, the ride ops are yelling for us to come back as they were able to disable the problem cabin (This added a nice touch as far as friendly ride ops go). We ended the normal day with actually snagging a bonus 3rd ride on Drop Tower as they were doing the last cycle...fun stuff! -
Some unfortunate news regarding the talent at Haunt, which really makes me ashamed of our nation due to how people are. http://blogs.ocweekly.com/navelgazing/2012/10/knotts_scary_farm_guest_claim.php (And the letter from the lady herself) Apparently, it sounds like there's more to the story than what her letter claims, based on all the comments below...while I understand that maybe the talent took it a bit...harsh, she only asked for it when she had called the talent a just as offensive name. Some of the other claims are just ridiculous...why cry over your poor toaster on wheels being made fun of? Why cry over being told to get off the phone by a clown? I would have kindly joked back, further making my night more enjoyable. I'm curious as to what the outcome will be, and feel sorry for the KBF talent tonight as I'm sure there's that dark cloud hovering above them putting them in a bad-ish mood.
