So that's why when I rode FF, all the pouches were missing and everyone bunched in the center. I haven't ridden it the past several visits, so it was nice to get back on it. Only half the fire was working in the pond however. Did they really face palm us at the Jr Windseeker pumpkin patch? I know the lady corrected us for opening the doors ourselves and told us that next time we should wait for her to unlock it.

^Listening to some of the commentary on the last Flyers ride...I wanted to snap but for some reason I wasn't quite feeling it. Makes sense though, wasn't diving in sharp enough. I think that experience just before our ride put a damper on what I was doing, made me a bit weary of making the ride do the same thing again. I maybe got 1 mild snap out of the whole cycle, compared to the earlier ride where I had several healthy jolts and snaps along with everyone else

A quick little clip of Blue Fire Guy taking in one of the last rides for the night on Flying Eagles last night, managing to snap pretty quick! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dE-i5XgUPA I was originally going to film both Rolercstrluvr and Blue Fire Guy but they were at opposite ends, making it quite difficult to follow.

To add on to today's amazing adventure, here's my report We had a total of 10 of us at one point, being Jeff, Robman, Flagg O' Dim, Rjvader, Blue Fire Guy, Rolercstrluvr, RawkinCoaster, my cousin, neighbor, and myself. Crowds were very light, most rides were 2-3 train wait, some walk-on. I could totally get used to this again Gold Striker's progressing nicely, got some action photos of work being done! Massacre Manor (as shown) was being worked on today as well, a facade for the entrance has gone up. Grizzly's roughening up quite a bit towards the end of the ride and the drop after the 10-minute turnaround, and Demon was hauling @$$ once evening set, speed-wise! Some highlights: -Intense rides on Flying Eagles -Mad spinning session pre-ride and start of ride on Peanuts Pirates (Breakdance) -Take Over on Flying Eagles 2 times -2 5-person logs on Logger's this time -Almost Woodstock take over -More kiddy rides! I'll let the photos tell the rest of the story! Got here early, first in line at the detectors...not that it was crowded. Switching over to my 55-250mm lens for GS construction, may as well snap some coaster photos as well. Yay, action shots! Bent assembly/coaster erection! "Alright guys, get back to work!" Aw...it looks like it's frowning... Ooh! They're moving fast, considering what we saw the other day! After a first ride on Star Tower, we completely passed FD (Sorry!) to ride Eagles, got some wild rides on it! Robman's new office Hmm...running 1 empty cabin? Naw, can't be! Clench 'n Squish on Logger's! "Ah, yes! I can breathe now!" Eek! Spider! (Yes it's real!) Nom nom nom... Well, let's check out Jr Windseeker! "I'm ready!" "Ready!" "Whee! Let's go!" Jeff taking a picture of me, taking a picture of him, taking a picture of... The rest of the group who kind of missed the memo...had to wait for the next cycle! "No, Snoopy that's my chocolate chip cookie! No, Snoopy, that's a bad Snoopy!" The rest of the group Alright, let the speculation begin! New paint? Marks to check certain welds? Tomatoes? Carrots? You decide. Hi Jack! *Crash!* Lunch with coaster POVs...I think we were watching "The Ultimate." Post lunch Flight Deck run! Are you guys ready? Another quick trip on Star Tower Working hard or hardly working? You decide! (We got to watch the crane move about as well) Oh yea...this is shaping up fast too! More work... A 'ground level' view of the "midway turn" foundation from a certain location (which will remain a mystery) Twisty! Mr. Immortal Elephant still lives! He is getting a bit concerned though so he hid himself really well! Wood delivery at your service! And over to MMMM to see what's going down over there! Had a nice conversation with the guy who was working over here as well! Random shots Here's where they left off for the day...made great progress over the course of the week! Random evening shots, final ride on Flying Eagles. And I'll end it with what worried the ride operator to the point that the ride was stopped and he notified a mechanic that the ride was "moving in weird ways and making noise."

I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon. I just got my 4S last October, was my first smart phone. I'm pretty happy with what my 4S can do. What I do wonder...since the screen has changed aspect ratios, will apps become iPhone 5 specific? Also, sure this may be thin but I'd be afraid of something that thin getting smashed in my pocket or slipping out while on a ride...I worry enough with my current phone actually! I may have to put my otterbox case back on to beef it up a bit so that I can ride without worry. -
Carowinds Discussion Thread

Cedar Fair has some really strange naming systems for their files...not really anything I would say is real 'presentable.' One I mentioned on the CGA thread was one of Vortex where they 'shopped out the Paramount logo...and then named their file "GA Vortex Clean." The could have completely ditched the working file name and given it something a little more...finalized? Since I work on web stuff all the time, I try to keep image file names presentable, and not really pick a name that I would be using as a working file name (like Banner final v3 or something like that). Fail... -
Roar's a great ride, love the layout, the elements, etc...it's just the condition of it that takes away from the ride. I'm not sure how it is running this season but when I rode the very back seat just over a year ago (my typical coaster seat for any ride except Medusa), I was being bounced around and had graceful moments of air being killed by sudden jolts and jack-hammering sensations. Good thing those Millennium Flyer trains are nicely padded! I'm hoping that one of these days Roar will get some TLC so it can run like it did in its younger years/early 2000s. In the mean time, I'm hoping CGA's Gold Striker doesn't fall into the same condition as Roar in its coming years.

TPR and Theme Park Artwork
Angry_Gumball replied to sfmmFREAK's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Some more etch a sketch artwork (after the cat knocked over the 'sketch erasing my Hurricane drawing). Quick, guess the coaster! -
Greetings! I don't submit tracks here too often as most of the time, I never finish them! After 3 or 4 different attempts at making the coaster (starting as early as 2008) here she is! After watching the POV several times and memorizing the layout, Gold Striker was born! Here's some screenshots for you guys to enjoy! You can download the track here. Enjoy your ride, feel free to comment! You will need track packager to open it (which I'm sure is a standard these days anyway). For those who don't have NL, you can check this out: Gold Striker! ^Seems about right. My No Limits creation, if I were go base off of No Limits' physics hits just about 53mph at a 108-foot height. Definitely a lot of math for my brain to chew on And a coaster update - CGA was kind and gave us an update via their Facebook: I'll be there this weekend to check it out! Another Update from GCI: Some more photos, from GCI's Facebook (As if there wasn't enough photos already!)

^^ first thing that came in mind to me was Stinky Pete from Toy Story, hence what I unofficially named him...not to mention the 'dumping waffle' thing. I wonder how long he will rock that pistol before some anti-gun people raise a stink. ^ Blue on blue...the next red with yellow (Think Dragstor and Iron Dragon)! I personally wasn't crazy about that. I probably liked the Drop Tower colors due to nostalgic reasons. After it faded however, it did look pretty bad.

^That avatar...I had to do a double take! Nice stuff! Vortex...I have a feeling that since purple swatches of paint were seen, the ride will just be painted the existing color scheme it already has. I'd like to see a lime green throwback...just like I wouldn't mind seeing Drop Tower in it's multi-color glory (again like the 90's). Let's hope this offseason, Demon and Flight Deck will get finished...it's a tad odd seeing freshly painted black loop with silver rails, then a solid black corkscrew including black rails. Here's to hybrid semi-multi-colored track! A random pondering about Gold Striker... Not sure if this was discussed a couple weeks ago about GS's speed but I just realized this (after chatting with a fellow coaster enthusiast) yesterday...according to RCDB, even Grizzly hits a top speed of 55mph. When it ever hit that I have no clue because it sure never feels like it. I just thought it was a bit funny that the park's already existing (and tame) woodie has Goldy's record beat in terms of speed. I do know we discussed Giant Dipper and how its speed is quite variable based on tempurature and load.

Anyone can play this question, even without a smart phone or mobile device! I know it's been noted several times that it will be only available on the IOS platform. Really, it isn't anymore different than keeping a certain video game exclusive to a certain platform. Plus if you have an iPod Touch, you can just get it on that! Random note: back before I got my iPhone and had no smartphone, I was tempted in getting an Android-based phone but decided to stick with Apple since I already have the iPod Touch. I still tend to use the iPod Touch for music and games anyway to help conserve on juice on my iPhone.

^I'm sure you will probably become a group regular, now that you have a pass! I'm looking forward to all of us getting together once again, and again for Haunt. Random side note, after a couple more tweaks and some screenshots, I'll get a dedicated thread for this project in the games forum, a No Limits recreation (yes, my 3rd or 4th recreation now) of Goldy! You can watch a Youtube video of it in action: Also, I was watching my Media Day video again, trying out the captioning and found this: Faeces (Feces) wouldn't rule...so much for Coaster Man Dumping Waffle

Minus having to hold my phone upside down, pretty cool update! (not sure how that happened and why, I've never had inverted photos from my iPhone). They seem to be moving pretty quick with everything, haunt and Gold Striker-wise. Can't wait for next sat, I'm kind of done with crowds for now, at least until haunt.
