How Often Do You Go To Your Local Park?
grsupercity replied to sfmmrules!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
MIA is my home park. I usually go at least once a year. When I was little i would have a season pass and go almost every day. Now that I am older and working 55 hours a week and trying to plan for other parks as well results in usually once or twice a year sadly -

When I first watched the announcement I was like ohh a B&M giga meh. As i watch it rise I must admit I am getting excited to ride it this summer. I am a sucker for green coasters. Hopefully keeping my expectations low, will get my mind blown!!! -

I ride Thunderhawk all the time at MIA, and its actually a pretty decent ride. Im sure with some new trains flight deck can be alright. It def wouldnt hurt vf's coaster line up haha I have ridden some horrible slc's, and some decent ones. I have faith in CF to make flight deck rideable enough for vf -

The "Pleasant/Unpleasant Surprise" Thread
grsupercity replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I heard how great Magnum was. It was the coaster that brought live back into coasters. When every park wanted loopers, they did the opposite and made the tallest and fastest coaster ever. It broke records and sent shivers across america. Well, least thats what i read. I walked into a big ugly station which huge bath tube trains. The lab bars had no padding. I was expecting this ride to be great. I dreamed of its airtime. I was hoping for an amazing ride. Every hill it crested my legs would burn. When I should of been laughing in joy, I was screaming in pain. It was the worst coaster I have ever been on, Very unpleasant ride. That brings me to windseekers. I never though anything of them. They looked gimicky, and slow. To my amusement comes a very attractive ride decked in amazing light packages. Great views from atop and nice wind in the face. They were a pleasant suprise. -

I have been saying dueling flyers for cedar point for years, so now I will say dueling flyers for CW A good ride experience (unlike boring wing riders) but with dueling you get more people through. Win Win -
I live and work within 10 minutes of the park. Come summer the town easily doubles in size, if not triples. We have so many sandy beaches that the camp grounds and hotels fill up quick. I have visitors to the area asking every day for directions to the park. Plus the Muskegon-GR metro area is over 1.2 million people. Not a small town b any means.

Going to parks alone?
grsupercity replied to alilstronger's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can not go alone, I feel so weird standing in lines all by my self. I am a car salesman with a big personality and I still cant do it. I usually like groups of 2 of four. odd numbers make 3rd wheel situations -

Darn it, I have to miss Opening Day again next year. The other thing that bothers me is why they wait until mid-May to open. If VF can stay open until early November, then they should at least be able to open in mid-April. I feel your pain, a lot of people I assume will have to miss it because of work and school. I wonder why they open on a Friday instead of a Saturday? And I agree, I really wish the park would open in mid-April, then it would be open for my birthday. What is the temp in Minnesota mid April
