Trip Report (November 11, 2017): Hola my fellow theme park junkies! Let me start off by saying this was my last theme park trip for the 2017 season, and much sadness took over my heart. I had plans on visiting another theme park before the year was over with, but life threw a wrench in the blender which caused unnecessary problems and whatnot . . . BUT . . . life moves on. LOL. The Park At OWA is a new amusement park that opened in Foley, AL. A place many people didn't know about (I'm guilty), unless you're heading to the beach for a day or two. The Park At OWA is part of a shopping/entertainment district that opened this past July. It's not fully up and running just yet. Construction is still ongoing as the only thing that was opened was Groovy Goat, Wahlburgers, and Hershey's Ice Cream Parlor. The Towneplace Suites Hotel was also open for guests. I'm sure once construction is finished this place will be booming with people from all over! It'll be Alabama's mini version of a Downtown Disney . . . somewhat. LOL. I visited The Park At OWA on Veterans Day. I know, I know . . . "ARE YOU CRAZY?" . . . "WHY WOULD YOU VISIT ON SUCH A BUSY DAY? . . . "ARE YOU INSANE?" Actually, it wasn't busy at all. Let me repeat: IT WASN'T BUSY AT ALL! I just knew visiting on a Saturday (a major holiday added on to it) that it was going to be packed and full of families with kids, but everything was a walk-on. I could have marathon all the major attractions if I wanted to, but I decided against it. I did have a 3hr+ drive back to Livingston, AL. LOL. All in all, my day at The Park At OWA was great! The employees were wonderful and friendly! And the weather turned out nice as well! I advise all theme park junkies to visit this park . . . BUT . . . try to wait when all the shops/entertainment is up and running for a full day or weekend excursion. Trust me, YOU WILL HAVE FUN! *Roller Coasters: Southern Express: Yes, I managed to get this credit! At first I had doubts because I had no kid, and I thought I was going to be too long to fit in the seat, but all worked out great! They sent the coaster train around THREE times which was a plus for me! Crazy Mouse: It was a nice ride, but I guess because I'm skinny my bones were hitting the side of the coaster car as it jerked around the tight corners. I survived though! LOL. Rollin' Thunder: This is a tricky coaster. A VERY TRICKY COASTER! Some complain about this coaster model from Zamperla and feel that the coaster can be a bit rough. Well . . . that's where the tricky part comes into play. I managed to get three rides in (front once and twice back), and here's the secret: IT'S HOW YOU RIDE IT! The first time I rode it, I found it to be good, but my head hit against the restraint. The second time I rode it, it was great because I started to crack the code of riding it. And the third time was FANTASTIC because I maneuvered my body with the coaster train. I kept my head forward, and turned with the transitions. If this coaster had lap bars only, I promise you it would be a TOP 20! So remember . . . IT'S HOW YOU RIDE IT! *Thrill Rides: Freedom Flyer: A fun ride! It's your typical swing ride. Air Racer: It was an interesting ride. It was my first Air Race ride, and I really had a good time riding it. Alabama's Wham'a: This was a truly different experience considering it's the new version of the Enterprise models. I prefer this model better! WAY BETTER! Twister: Unfortunately it was closed . . . sadly. Wave Rider: It was okay. I just don't advise to eat before riding this ride. SERIOUSLY! DON'T EAT BEFORE RIDING! HERE'S TWO VIDEOS DOWN BELOW OF MY VISIT IF YOU WANT TO WATCH. I'M NOT THE BEST VLOGGER, BUT I TRY! LOL. . . . OR YOU COULD LOOK AT PICTURES BELOW! What's that I see? "What's this? . . . What's this? . . . I can't believe my eyes?" I should have stopped in and got my groove on! Pretty! I'm at Hersheypark! Who wants to watch the movie "Wahlburgers?" I'm here! I'm here! OWA! I see you over there. Look at me! Look at how happy I am to be here! NICE! Twists and turns all over the place! Wonderful! Kiddie credit! Yes! I'm a whore! A big nasty . . . too much information? LOL. I spot a water fountain! I spot a hotel in the distance! Way in the distance . . . Now I'm at Disney! "Is there a giga coaster coming in 2019?" Going down! Hold on tight! Such a great coaster! I mean . . . . . . just look at it! Gully Washer? Sounds like a kid juice. LOL. OMG! Now that's pretty! So photogenic! Hello up there! Flipping around I see. Look up . . . WAY UP! LOOPY! Thanks for reminding me where I'm at! I see swings! "You've been cleared for departure!" Yes . . . I have many photos of Rollin' Thunder! Looking down the midway! It spins and spins and . . . . . . spins and spins! My artsy shot! Another artsy shot! This ride was very interesting! The new version of the Enterprise models! I love this version better! Crazy Mouse? More like "Crazy Pain." LOL. I know it's a lame joke. Yes! OH NO! IT'S CLOSED! I see you over there looking all innocence. You want a gift for all your troubles? Words can't describe how amazing this place is! Time to go. I had a wonderful time! Goodbye The Park At OWA!

Awesome report! -
Your trips report are AMAZING! I love traveling, and I love when other people are traveling! Maybe this is why I'm always solo when I travel to theme parks/new cities because most people are in a rush, and doesn't take the time to admire their surroundings. I'm from a small town in AL, and most people there couldn't tell you if other countries exist. LOL.

I feel so awful that I didn't get that coaster credit. My first and only visit to Universal was back in 2006, and I remember seeing Dueling Dragons in the background as I walked by. I was just starting fresh in the "theme park world," and considering Universal Studios was my second park, and then Islands of Adventures my third (my first was Disney's Magic Kingdom in 2005), let's just say I haven't worked my nerves up just yet to ride those massive roller coasters just yet. Oh well, life goes on.
