  1. I just realized that Cornball Express is only 55 feet tall. That's the obvious choice for me because that thing is incredible.
  2. Yeah I got this email too. I hope a lot of parks join the line up (Cedar Fair, looking at you), as I'd love to see this/these event(s) be a huge success, and of course participate if a local park signs on.
  3. Magnum XL 200 in the rain.
  4. How did they manage to valley Joker? Also, is their plan to just push it through by sending through another train (That's why that other car is on the lift, right?) This is amazing
  5. Agree with all of this. I rode the CP WindSeeker and found the views and light package incredible, but it felt safeĀ® than a Starflyer's chains. Full confession: Charlie Brown's Wind Up (Chance yo-yo) is one of the two rides in the park that genuinely unnerve me (the other being ripcord). And it's partially due to the chains that suspend the riders (the other part is because it's the only ride I feel like I have to hold onto or I'll fall out of the seat--but how much of that can I blame on the vertical motions of the ride). But overall, it's a great investment for the park and will be seen for quite the distance. Finally, someone else that realizes how amazingly terrifying Wind-Up is. Seriously, that thing is amazing. However, the thing that makes that one so terrifying is, as you said, the vertical motions, so I am fully confident in saying that Charlie Brown's Wind-Up will be scarier than North Star. But to your point, I love Windseekers to death, I get excited whenever I see them, but not for the thrill of them. I like them because of the wind to cool you down on hot days, the views, the lights at night, and it's just simply relaxing. I don't possess that fear of heights that would make them oh so scary. I haven't been on a Starflyer yet, but I'm looking forward to it because it should feature all of those things I love with the Windseekers (minus the last one), plus the thrill of feeling like you're going to fall 230 feet down to the ground. Also, thanks for getting rid of the troll, Larry.
  6. This is what really bothers me, the people complaining don't seem to realize that this doesn't affect them negatively at all (It actually has a positive affect on them, as Robb mentioned earlier, with less people using the free system).
  7. I'm breaking the manufacturer rule, but this is the ideal park 1960: Pioneer Train (Knoebels) 1962: Sky Ride (CP) 1969: Timber Mountain Log Ride (KBF) 1973: Coal Cracker (HP) 1975: Le Scoot Log Ride (BGW) 1976: Logger's Run (SFGAm) 1982: Grist Mill (DW) (The cinnamon bread place) 1992: Log Chute (NU) 1996: Skull Mountain (SFGAdv) Unknown year: Nautic Jet (Let's go with the one at Potts Park)
  8. This thread desperately needs some redirection, since we seem to have strayed from the SkyRide conversation, so here. Cedar Point posted this picture of all the SkyRide cars off the cable. Discuss and never change topics, please.
  9. While a super loop isn't real exciting, given all the other amazing additions in the past couple years, no one should be complaining.
  10. From the most recent blog post: Tony is a real treasure, never forget that.
  11. If I remember correctly, that layout was made (or at least made popular) by Absolutely Reliable News and Rumors, a website that specialized in satire and sh*tting on whiny coaster enthusiasts. Not surprisingly it was always one of my favorite websites. If that's true that is extremely hilarious, because so many of the people the page makes fun of believe it's true. Regardless, I really love that page.
  12. I really hope there's shade, but I'm 100% expecting there to be none. We still don't know where entrance/exit will be. I imagine we'll know when it's poured.
  13. ^They actually had the seats attached before they lifted the ride's chassis onto the tower.
  14. Oh my gosh. This needs to happen. But yeah, I haven't been on one of the S&S 4-d's yet, but I think they look like a lot of fun, and I don't get what all the complaining is about.
  15. ^I prefer Bill's plan. Let's all stick to that, alright?
  16. Not sure how I missed this post but hi Rob. Welcome to TPR Woah, thanks for bringing this post back up because I didn't see it either. That's my kind of Facebook group, because Sky Rides are fascinating.
  17. Wow, that looks like such a well done Haunt, especially for being free. Those sets look incredible Something of note, the warning sign had a section dedicated to "no refunds" for the free maze.
  18. ^^^I didn't know that, thanks for sharing Sphantom91! It should also be pointed out that both track types can be colored however the park wants it to be. If CP wanted to they could put on bright red or orange topper track (Like Goliath). just as they could put on "neutral colored" IBox. The track type really makes no difference other than for marketing purposes.
  19. Good question, I never got that either. Who cares if the track is wood or steel, the part of the track the train actually makes contact with is the same either way, so what difference does it make?
  20. That's what I was thinking too. I love Tony's response, though, as well as the fact that no one in the comments seems to notice the foreground.
  21. You can't say this and not post. You're not the only Skyride dork on this site. Great report Boldikus, looks like a great trip! I love this style of Trip Report, much better than the ride reviews, followed by pictures format that has become so very popular.
  22. Looks promising! All of the Haunts there have really good stories from what I can see on the website, and walking through an old amusement park sounds amazingly creepy.
  23. Monsters come out around 7:00. You do need to buy Skeleton Key to go in the Skeleton Key rooms. Skeleton Key/Fright Lane are bundled together, so you get to skip the lines for all the mazes once, too. Have fun, Haunt is amazing (Don't miss Hacks, they're pretty funny).
