More like: 2017= "They started work already, and they've announced things late over 10 years ago under different management." 2018= "They're already spending a ton of money around the penninsula, including a relativly large waterpark expansion that most enthusiasts pass off as insignificant because we tend to prefer the dry side to the wet side. They also just added a new coaster last year, its kinda unlikely that they would build new coasters back to back (Not saying that isn't possible, it was done once before, but unlikely). Also, if they were building one of the best coasters ever, why wouldn't they be marketing the heck out of it to push season pass renewals? I may be biased. -

Yeah, when we were there in June, on weekdays, the line in the afternoon never filled the stairs, normally only halfway down the stairs to the station. -

VF posted that there's some new North Star parts at the park (There's also a logo that I haven't seen until now). Source -

Since we're on the topic of food, the Red Garter Saloon is actually pretty good, and on the dining plan. -

I can't believe I just voted against an Intamin. Like others have said, both rides look amazing, and either option will be an incredible addition to the park. I just think that Vekoma's layout was slightly better. -

You can take the Sky Ride from Raptor to Valravn, if you REALLY need an excuse. I've actually done this even though it's probably the same amount of walking to just walk to Valravn from the exit. I think pretending it made sense to take the Sky Ride from the Snoopy Boutique to Gatekeeper was my most ridiculous moment. Hey, I rode the Sky Ride, boarding on the North Side, to go to Snoopy's Boutique. Proof that there's always an excuse to do the Sky Ride. A diagram of my most ridiculous Sky Ride excuse -

^I doubt that Renegade or Wild Thing have even come close, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to hear of Corkscrew going down for fog since it's right next to Blood Creek and Abnormal Alley, which both pump out tons of fog (And some run-off from CarnEvil). -

Awesome pictures, Samuel! This looks amazing. This is the appropriate amount of fog for Halloween events. Confirmed by who? If I recall correctly, some random enthusiast pod-caster that admitted to making the whole thing up. EDIT: Found the post here: I believe that the person who said he spotted them has now admitted to making this whole thing up unfortunately, he, or someone who saw what he said, may also have submitted the rumor to Screamscape. -
Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread

So, at Valleyfair, nobody ever ventures to Excalibur. It's in the back of the park and a lot of people don't like it. It sends off a few empty seats on trains pretty consistently even during the summer months when they only run one train (Which is always, I think I've seen the ride run two trains once over the past couple years.). It's really a weird scenario, as that is one of Valleyfair's larger coasters, but hardly anyone goes on it. I think most of the people that go on Excalibur are either people that just got off of Thunder Canyon, which exits directly in front of the ride entrance so they just figure, "Eh, what the heck, let's just do it since we're here". Or they're people who don't want to get wet, but the rest of their group has their mind set on Thunder Canyon, so they ride Excalibur to kill time until their group returns. So, they just cut off the path past Renegade so they don't need to run Excalibur or the rapids ride. They've been doing it for years. -

Just curious, would they need to shut the ride down for fog? -

Just got back from Haunt, few notes: -Sliders are amazing, and there were lots of them tonight. When these guys scare someone, they get them really good. -The fog was even more ludicrous than normal. I was unable to see parts of Corkscrew from the area by Xtreme Swing. Keep this up, it looks amazing (I wanted to go on Corkscrew just to go through all the fog, but never got around to it). My position on fog is and will always be the more the better. -Zombie Bumper Cars. Forget VR, this is the kind of gimmick you should be using to make a an otherwise fun experience a spectacular one. Also, how on earth do some of them have voices at the end of the day? -Hacks was excellent tonight. It's been a while since my jaw was sore from laughing so much. Props to these guys. -Had one of the best rides I've ever had on Renegade, and the crew was very excited tonight. All in all, it was a great night, even though it was a little busy. -
Changed mine for the first time to this cool, sunglasses-wearing cow we found at Cedar Point.

We don't want to offend the caveman. In all seriousness, I have no idea why DinoSlaughter was removed. -

Nope, everything at Valleyfair is open for Haunt (With a few exceptions like the water rides, Excalibur, and maybe Ripcord). The Haunt sites are never fully accurate when it comes to rides. I would just assume that the entire park is open unless Canada's Wonderland has some random dead ends with un-popular attractions that I'm not aware of. -

Woah, when did this all happen? Please tell me this isn't related to the FearVR situation in California. Also, what is happening with Dinoslaughter? I know it's hilariously bad, but with a name like Dinoslaughter they probably knew that was how it was going to turn out going in so why are they just now deciding to shut it down? Speaking of Dinoslaughter, what was the deal with that random fun house tunnel at the beginning? The only thing I can think of is traveling back in time? -
We do indeed. Also, another gem from Boldikus: Today has been great on these forums.

Is there an increase in young girls liking roller coasters?
GCI Wooden replied to Henry M's topic in Random, Random, Random
Yep, definitely a sampling error going on here. It's interesting that he got the demographics that he did, but they definitely don't reflect the enthusiast community as a whole. Oh yeah, if there's anything that ladies love most it's a high coaster count, right? -

How much do you use Twitter?
GCI Wooden replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I chose the second option, I only really care about a few accounts, so I probably spend about half an hour a week on the site. Your Twitter is awesome, I love following along with the live updates you post from your visits to parks (And the crap giveaways). I do like how they don't throttle anyone's posts, and still displaying them by time posted. I wish more sites still did that (Looking at you Facebook). -

This is the understatement of the year. It was empty. Like, it would have been considered a slow day at Dorney. The employees definitely outnumbered the guests. There was what, 15 people in the Hacks show? And then walking onto the High Roller? That never happens, ever.
