  1. It wasn't, I just didn't think to grab the screen name before I closed the window. The "Random Person Fully Capable of a Rational Thought" was just a tongue in cheek, sarcastic remark. And I never got the "TPR is banned from ______ park". Like who started that?
  2. I think I just found the holy grail of comments under that video: Now, I'm not entirely sure what language that's in, but it seems to imply that Robb is banned from the state of his residence.
  3. Ok. This thing should still be a good ride regardless of the restraints.
  4. That's definitely interesting. Nice solution to the low capacity complaints of the Larson Superloops, have two loading platforms so that it would be like running two trains at once. Just curious, can anyone tell if the animation is using lap bars or OTSR? I can't really tell on mobile.
  5. I got a good laugh out of that too. Like, what were you expecting? I also love the huge gas can sitting right next to the flames. Robb, how many people took you up on your free T-shirt offer? I love your responses.
  6. Ok, now I'm super interested. If it's more about the story and not just people jumping out at you it's probably going to be a hit with me. Think I'll be checking this one out when I go. It's strange that it's not a super scary thing, because given the theme, it could be really terrifying.
  7. ^Wow. I wonder how many people are lined up for front seat in the station, now that everyone knows Bill's trick.
  8. Yeah, Demon isn't bad at all. The corkscrews were the only part that really batted me around, but that's to be expected from Arrow, and it wasn't really that bad for Arrow. I would love to see better restraints, but it's really not necessary, because it's not too rough yet.
  9. Yeah, Boldikus is the master of finding the perfect gif for each situation. Thanks for the laughs over the past few pages, Boldikus.
  10. ^This. I do count coasters, but it's just so that I can keep a personal track record of my travels. My count doesn't effect how I'm spending my time at a park (You're not going to see me riding Woodstock Express when I could be going Maverick. That's ridiculous). When I'm planning trips, I'm looking at what parks I'm visiting, not how many credits I'm accumulating on the trip, because no one cares.
  11. I will say, I have never paid for a skip-the-line program before (I've used Fast Lane at VF once because it was free with pass renewal). I just get really lucky with crowds on trips, it's never been a necessity, for me. If you're on a big trip, typically I would suggest budgeting for a couple fast lanes, because if you're only able to get 8 rides in a day that you're already paying $200+ for (Hotel, admission, meals, car rental), that seems like a waste to me. Hopefully it stays that way, where I don't need a FL, but I think it's a good idea to be prepared if you happen to need it.
  12. From the sounds of it, you got it at a good price (Probably because you went in May). It's a resort hotel, so yeah, you should expect it to be expensive. What we did when we went to the point (And plan to when we return), we got Platinum Passes and stayed at Comfort Inn River's Edge. It's in Huron (Meaning about a 20 minute drive to the park), but it's a pretty nice hotel for the price, and being on site isn't a huge deal to me. If the cost of the on site hotels (and even the ones in Sandusky got pretty expensive, if I recall currently) are making a trip to CP difficult, and you don't want to stay in a sketchy motel, I would strongly recommend that Comfort Inn. Just my $.02 last time i went in 2014 i stayed in Vermilion at the holiday inn. i think, at the time, the comfort inn was much more expensive, so i went out even further. lol Well, I think that it was about $100 a night this June, give or take about $15.

  14. F***ing wife got a hold of my account again!!!! Damnit, Emily!!! Thought something seemed a little off when I read this
  15. I can't think of a single ride that I like more during the day than I do at night. Night rides are amazing on pretty much any coaster. This event will be even more awesome next year, because then in addition to the legendary Beast rides, you'll get Mystic Timbers at night.
  16. That's like saying "How did you like commuting in the Bentley? Better than walking to work? In a hail storm? Uphill both ways? While you were on fire? I was at the park yesterday, and I would like to say I had a somewhat enjoyable ride on Green Lantern . I have a feeling they're talking about the Green Lantern in California, not the stand-up. Although from what I've heard, you're statement would still be out of the ordinary regardless of which Green Lantern we're talking about (Haven't been on either one, yet. Not sure if that's a bad thing).
  17. It was a long time ago, but I had a dream of going to Cedar Point, but the only ride that I went on was one of those spinning gator carnival rides. One of these, just with gators instead of monkeys Turns out that CP is better than even my wildest dreams.
  18. How Silver Dollar City didn't make this list, I'll never know. Likely a lot of the voters haven't been here. It's really in the middle of nowhere, so you'd have to make a special trip for it. A lot of enthusiasts are on the East Coast, so it makes sense that many if them have been to Dollywood and were impressed, but haven't come out to the Ozarks yet. But SDC is mentioned as a runner up for several of the awards. While I'm sure that it's location doesn't help with the amount of voters that go to the park, that can't be the only reason. I think it's just a case of the Golden Tickets being weird.
  19. I find it hard to believe that the manager of the park would reveal the top secret plans of future additions to a random park-goer. Sorry, I'm not buying that this actually happened. If I'm wrong, great, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
  20. Why do they keep making phones bigger? Is it really necessary to have 5"+ screens? My hands aren't large enough for this.
  21. Was the "very important person" the Dippin' Dots guy? I know that if they want a new coaster they'll find a place to put it, but I have no idea where they could fit one.
  22. ^I'm surprised to see that! They really aren't wasting any time at all! I wonder when we'll see North Star start to go vertical. It doesn't seem out of the question to think that we'll see it start going up by the end of the season, if parts are arriving already.
  23. I would think that it will be higher next year as more people get to ride it. The first year of a new coaster tend to bring a lower rating in the Golden Ticket Awards. For example, Thunderbird at Holiday World wasn't even in the Top 50 it's first year, but is now in the 30's, Cannibal at Lagoon wasn't making the Top 50's in it's first year, but now it's in the 40's, and Banshee is still rising in the polls (I don't think GTA did a full Top 50 list in 2014, only Top 10, so it wasn't ranked in it's first year). However, it is international, and it is the Golden Ticket Awards (Where there's only 5 coasters in the Top 30 that are international), so I'm not sure exactly how far it will jump up.
  24. Typically, if people are complaining about VF, it's just the constant "It's been 10 years since the last coaster, we need a new coaster NOW" rhetoric that's so common in the enthusiast works. This thread turns into the KD thread every once in a while with everyone reiterating that. People can't seem to realize that the park doesn't need to install a shiny new coaster every other season because it has an extremely loyal local fanbase (If people are considering going to an amusement park in MN, VF is their go-to. Nickelodeon doesn't really get discussed much). ValleyFair doesn't need to do much to get people to come back (Unlike, say, the PA parks, where you could have 3 parks within an hour and a half drive if you lived in the right spot. Those parks actually have competition, VF doesn't)
