  1. Wait, Star Flyer? It'll be interesting to see if this will be Mondial or Funtime. I'm good with either (I love Windseekers, haven't tried a Star Flyer yet, but they look like about the same thing, just a little more open and terrifying).
  2. Renegade was announced in mid-August. Nope it was announced September 21st, 2006. I remember since it was a couple days before my birthday http://www.coaster-net.com/news/749-a-new-renegade-on-the-way-to-valleyfair/ Oh, my mistake. I just checked the front page of this thread and it linked to a post from August 16th, 2006, so I just figured it was announced that day.
  3. The workout on Skyhawk isn't too bad. Yes, you have to shift your body and alternate your wings slowly in order to flip but I don't find it tiring at all. I suppose it takes time to getting used to it. But, once you’re used to the motion of moving your wings and shifting your body, it's a really fun ride! The Sky Fly looks to be easier to flip than the Sky Roller since it is on an angle but, I may be wrong. Actually heard it's the opposite. The Sky Fly is extremely difficult to flip but people are not having issues flipping the Sky Roller The Sky Fly at Nickelodeon is ridiculously hard to flip. I still haven't managed to get a full 360 degree flip, in all of the times I've tried it.
  4. I've heard that they stopped retracking rides, and are focusing on Iron Horsing and building new rides. I don't think they would stop making their most successful product. It should also be noted that I have not seen where RMC released this info, it just came about on these forums. So it could be inaccurate.
  5. Fixed. Top Thrill Dragster is a great ride in any seat, but it is truly astounding in the front. It is absolutely worth the additional wait. As Bill mentioned, it'll change your life.
  6. Just got word from the park that the Runaway Branson Mountain Coaster is opening tomorrow after lunch, and operating daily for the rest of the week. The official Grand Opening isn't until August 12th, though. They are planning to be open from 10:00 A.M. - 8:30 P.M. every day. Here's a POV posted by the owner: Runaway's Website
  7. Haven't been before, but it's always a good idea to start with the low capacity stuff, so hit up Spinning Dragons and maybe Boomerang (If you want to go on it, that is) first.
  8. It's really weird but I agree. I love the long drops of the tall towers (Like Power Tower), but the smaller S&S drop towers are extremely intense and the one at Indiana Beach had the most extreme airtime I've ever experienced (It put Magnum to shame).
  9. I am pretty sure that RMC can make an amazing ride out of pretty much anything. This includes Hurler. If there's anything we've learned over the past 5 years, it's that we should never doubt that RMC will blow us away.
  10. Next time I get out to Valleyfair I'll try and take some photos of Flying Eagles. Also, the Antique Autos are no longer closed at VF, and Hydroblaster is closed. I'll take a closer look at the index over the next few days to see if there are any more errors.
  11. It's both at Lakemont Park and a Toboggan roller coaster. Two negatives making a positive? It could be worse:there's a Chinese version of the Toboggan with a loop that's been called things like "The Toboggan Of Death" ! If it's that bad it will put you in the hospital. There are some benefits to that, as I did some research and found no hospitals within Lakemont Park. I love that whole thread. I feel the title should be included too, "Photo TR: A good park and Lakemont Park"
  12. It'll be interesting to see what it is. It's weird having absolutely no idea what a park has up it's sleeve. I mean, there's hardly even rumors at this point. I doubt it'll be anything substantial, but as I said, I really have no idea.
  13. Any idea what the "other company" is that we're sharing the park with on Saturday night, or what kind of attendance numbers they'll be contributing? I wouldnt worry about lines during the evening ERT due to the other company. It's the entire park, so I'm sure it will be more than enough room for everyone. I'm grateful, cause we wouldn't have the whole park otherwise! i don't think there is evening ERT. seems like the extended 4 hour night is the replacement with the buyout. i haven't been to one of those since green lantern was new. so no idea what crowds will be like at night. only thing i remember was riding apocalypse or might have been terminator still while my friends waited for deja vu. I think he was talking about the buy out when he was saying evening ERT. And really, it is ERT, it's just ERT on every single ride in the park!
  14. Log flumes. Specifically the Log Chute at Nickelodeon Universe.
  15. Just noticed that Valleyfair started offering an all-season Fast Lane pass for $75.
  16. So is the Little Titans rideable or not? I'll be making my one and likely only ever visit there next week. They have a 50 inch maximum height restriction in place for that ride, so no, you can't ride. Also, I noticed something with the "Thrill Meter" the park has set up on their website. According to it, Little Titans is the most thrilling ride in the park, tied with Hades (Which I also noticed, is listed 4 times on the same page of the website).
  17. Wow, they really stripped that of everything, the seats, the lights, the theming. Here's a photo for comparison from the park index, they really took off everything.
  18. I agree with you, and that the Germany parks look like some of the best out there, but it sounds like he already has a flight lined up to the UK. I'm just going to say, look through TPR's Park Index, and read the trip reports from different parks in the UK, and then whichever parks sound the most appealing, go to. The park index is a magnificent thing, and it plays a major part in how I plan my trips.
  19. I can't say I've seen a restraint on a carousal-like ride, I'm not even sure how they would do that. And I agree, that ride is awesome and a you can't help but laugh the whole time. Great report, once again! Looking forward to more from Cedar Point!
  20. Enjoy one of my favorite drops! The dive into the massive tunnel is awesome. Especially in the back row. It's incredible.
