Carowinds Discussion Thread
FSUFanChris replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sorry, it seems like there is a bit of a misunderstanding. If I decide to spend time and money to get to a park 10 hours away, I honestly do not feel guilty for "annoying" an employee who is strict enough to lessen a guest's experience over a rule that doesn't have any purpose. If the operator would just let you choose a row if you ask, that's fine. But in my opinion, an operator who constantly refuses to let the paying customers of a park choose their own row is being the @$$hole in that case, and I just believe that they should be treated as such. But I do see your point at how my previous comment wasn't thought-out well. He or she's getting paid to do a job and they are doing that job. What part of that is difficult to understand? -
They are only open 2 Saturdays in September anyways so you need to check the UofL schedule and KK. But Go Cats I guess I should rephrase my question. I checked the KK schedule when FSU's schedule was first released and the park was open. Now they are not. I'm just curious if this is because someone rented the park out or if they just always close during UL big games?

1. You will need the FL+, but I think you can wait to gauge the weather. 2. It has its own lane. You can request a row, but it's not guaranteed. 3. Ricochet is the only one I can think of that does not use FL and has low capacity. Hit that ride first thing. 4. Fury: front row, far right seat (aka: front row and be the last on the train). Intimidator: 5th row for maximum floater air over the crests. Last row for the speed down the first drop. Afterburn: Front row. -
Agreed!! When I went to the park my expectations for Verbolten weren't really that "high" But wow, did that coaster deliver!! It quickly became one of my favorites in the park!! Can't wait to ride it again next season!! I've never been on it, but I do not get why it gets so much hate, it looks like a decent ride and i would love to get around to riding it some day. It gets so much hate because it replaced the iconic Big Bad Wolf. Nothing more than that. I LOVED Verbolten.

Do Intimidator first. If you fit on Intimidator, you fit on Fury. Ive been on B&M trains like that recently, so i know i will fit in those. The two vekomas are what concern me the most, as i have not been on either of those kind of trains before. I was at 220 lbs during my highest and my friend was about 270. We both have had zero issues on any of the coasters at Carowinds, including Vortex, Carolina Cobra, and even the... ugh.... Flying ACE Arial Chase. Goldrusher was a bit tight but just make sure you get one of the front cars. -

The ability to make a YouTube video full screen.
FSUFanChris replied to FSUFanChris's topic in Ask Alvey
Fair enough. I'm certainly not asking for someone to cater to just little ol me. I realize that would be an asinine request. I know that while I certainly noticed it would not allow full screen, I personally never thought to ask about it for 2+ years, so I imagine I'm not the only one to notice it. With that said, I realize there are much more important things to worry about when running a site of this size, so no worries. Have a good one. -

Hmmm... I never noticed this before. To be honest, you're the first person who has ever mentioned this, so I'm going to assume it's not a big deal for most people. I'm not sure it's worth us going in and changing BBCode to fix it. Can't you just click on "Watch On YouTube" and go to full screen there? Yeah, I can. But that's one whole extra click. Here's what I found. It looks like you would need to actually add the 'allowfullscreen.' Here is what the HTML code looks like for the Wildfire POV... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fVMeAnxPSCg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> -
Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

More proof of Iron Hurler. Okay seriously, are you trolling? Yes. I'm trying to get you angry. You seem riled up that Canada's Wonderland isn't getting anything this year. How anyone can read what is going on and think he is 'riled up' is obviously out of touch with reality. Why don't you just quit while you're behind? All he is trying to do is bring a little reality to this conversation. Nothing more. Nothing less. And this is coming from someone who does not consider either park my home park. I want the best for all Cedar Fair parks. But just because IOE has all but confirmed they are working on Hurler does not mean that RMC is working on it. At all. -

I have a quick question... I noticed that the way the HTML code to BB code (is it even still called BB code these days?) conversion is set up, it will not allow us to choose full screen for YouTube videos. Could we turn on the ability to make embedded YouTube videos full screen or is there a particular reason for it?? Thanks in advance for the reply, Robb. -Chris

How about getting a contract to update all of the park's Windseeker control systems? Is that considered large? -

When someone on IOE's facebook post said Cedar Point, they corrected him and mentioned it was for Cedar Fair, not necessarily Cedar Point. When someone replied with Hurler, they said they would post all the details when they are allowed to. So in the poster above's defense, all signs do point toward Hurler at KD. With that said, IOE does work with GCI, RMC, and other companies. -

It's been a confirmed in-house project since the park opened for the season. Seriously.... can this rumor die already? The hints that RMC themselves dropped was clear as day pointing at Hurler. I have not seen RMC give any hints? Source? Or are you talking about the hints that Irvine Ondrey Engineering posted on fb about getting the Cedar Fair contract? Because you do know that IOE works with GCI as well as RMC, correct? Either way they said it's a large project, and all signs point to Hurler. So no, it's not entirely in-house. What leads me to think it's RMC is them saying they're booked for 2017 along with GCI already working with BGW down south. 1. You want RMC Hurler 2. Large project confirmed 3. People in the CP thread said so Guys he's right. I hope you're serious because there's clear cut evidence as to Hurler getting a major renovation. No one is doubting Hurler gets a renovation. We are questioning RMC's role in this renovation. -

Dollywood Discussion Thread
FSUFanChris replied to crispy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh no no. According to this thread there are NO PR nightmares and saying anything negative is insulting and whining. This park and RMC has gotten the biggest "get out of jail free" card on this NOT DEBACLE. No. Saying negative things and expressing disappointment is perfectly natural and acceptable. Actually saying Insulting things about the PR department at Dollywood (who read this thread and have been amazing to TPR members and to the general public in the past) is and should be most definitely be noted as it is rude. It isn't about having a negative opinion or being disappointed - it is about general manners and decency. I didn't see anything insulting towards the PR department in his post. At all. -

What is your next park?

Dollywood. But my next new park will be Kentucky Kingdom and Holiday World in September.
