  1. A lot of people seem to actually like Blue Hawk, me personally I found it better than Ninja, but that's not saying much. I still found the final half of it extremely rough.
  2. Honestly, I've gone opening weekend every year since 2010 and it mostly depends on the weather. If it's sunny than it's usually pretty busy for opening weekend, but if the weather isn't that nice, than not as many people come out. Operations are always iffy, especially with so many new people, but it's not the total suckfest alot of people make it out to be.
  3. I don't see Cedar Fair ever getting rid of Magnum until they absolutely have too. I mean it'll always be historic for being the first ever 200 ft coaster, and many will say it started the modern era of " Coaster Wars" and companies trying to one up each other with record breakers.
  4. I've heard about wasps in the past on Wild Eagle and Thunderhead, any reason it seems to be limited to those that the wasps like so much???
  5. Could it be different county policies??
  6. Only people with SFGAm as a homepark understand I have SFOG as a homepark and I'd trade Blue Hawk for Demon in a heartbeat.
  7. It's been a while since I've been to Carowinds but isn't it away from the city?? I would think they should just put a curfew on downtown since that's where most of the rioting seems to be designated, of course I'm only seeing what they're showing on TV.

  9. I know!! Of the two rows they have roped off for GASM the first one is a lot smoother than the second one.
  10. Everything about this makes me jealous!! Hope you enjoyed your day!! We enjoyed it immensely. Honestly, the longest we waited was about 15 minutes for Smoky Mountains Rampage, and the only delay was because there was a group of special needs indivuals and their care takers riding, and it understandably took a few extra minutes to load them. I have to commend the ops and the people that were waiting in line, I didn't see anyone visibly upset that they were taking longer than a normal boat would to load, the world can be so cruel to people who are different, so it's nice to see that the human race still has respect for others.
  11. Just got back home from an amazing day at the park, took my sister and used the bring up to 4 friend for$25 deal, park was dead all day pretty much. Didn't take many pictures, but did manage to get this one of Lightning Rod this morning with the moon visible Final Ride Count Lightning Rod 6x Thunderhead 4x Wild Eagle 2x Firechaser 1x TN Tornado 2x Mystery Mine 1x Blazing Fury 2x River Rampage 2x Daredevil Falls 2x Lightning Rod with the barley visible moon
  12. Row 11 or 10 I can't remember which one, it wasn't blocked off this morning, but was in the afternoon. They let you pick your rows for about 2 hours, and about 430 they started assigning seats again, guess since the day was winding down.
  13. The dates people have mentioned above (first week of April) should be correct. Two or three years ago, the main two counties that visit SFOG had their Spring Breaks on different weeks so the park was open both weeks and that was better, but it has since gone back to one week and is mobbed. It will be painfully busy so I would say just get there before opening if possible for easy entry and Flash Pass retrieval, get Platinum Flash Pass like you mentioned, and still be ready to wait a long time for food. Refill your SF free refill cup at the three Coke Freestyle locations to avoid waiting for drink refills. With Flash Pass, you will be assigned the back two rows on Batman and the middle of the train on GASM, so if you want to ride those in preferred seats you would have to hit them early (assuming the process doesn't change). If you get the double ride wristband, be prepared for people in line to scream at you and possibly assault you (both have happened to me LOL). We had a Platnium Flash Pass on the 10th and they let us choose which row we wanted on Batman, I'm not sure if it's a new thing because that was the first time I've seen them not assign the back rows.

  15. They're letting people pick their row on Lightning Rod!!
  16. Or just remove the VR all together. I have yet to expirence VR at any park I've visited, but I heard I'm not missing much, plus the dispatch/wait times are horrendous all around it seems.
  17. Honestly Demon isn't even that bad of a ride, especially for an Arrow built 40 years ago.
  18. Lighting Rods trains look amazing in person. Also I love B&M hyper and giga trains with the clamshell retrained, Also love Millenium Flyer trains.
  19. On the app the wait times looked EXTREMELY low but Lightning Rod was closed all day. I hope everyone knows that the park IS closed today, Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout September and just closed Tuesdays throughout October... The guy that asked the question about anybody being at the park was posted yesterday, and our response while posted today, were about yesterday. I think everyone is aware for the simple fact that everyone scratches their heads when looking at Dollywoods operating schedule.
  20. On the app the wait times looked EXTREMELY low but Lightning Rod was closed all day. It was open in the beginning at least according to the app it had a 5 min wait first thing, then when I checked at lunch, it was closed for the day.
  21. I do have to give SFOG credit, while I personally still am not fond of Blue Hawk, they did a really good job of marketing it. I've been to the park on busier days when it was still Ninja and it would run one train and still only have 3 or 4 rows of riders per train. It was probably close to an hour wait Saturday, as I waited 30 minutes just in the station.I do think new trains and track work would have been sufficient, because Ninja was one of the few coasters in the park that didn't need a paint job, but at least they went with another good color ( Blue) instead of some wacky Six Flags color scheme.
  22. I just looked at the actual chart and there was only a 4 point difference between Fury and MF, while last year MF beat Superman by almost 300 points. I haven't gone through and looked at all the archives, does anyone know off the top of their head has it ever been so close between the top 2 before??
  23. I think we all know it got a lot of Furys goodwill, but with all of Furys goodwill I'm surprised Afterburn didn't place higher, it seems to be very revered by most enthusiasts.
  24. Where on BTR did you sit?? For some reason the farthest left seat on the front of the train threw and rattled me around like crazy yesterday and today, but every other seat I rode in on it front and other rows were smooth. I agree about Blue Hawk, I rode it the first time yesterday in its new form, and still waited 25 minutes with a Platnium Flash Pass in the station because of the one train wait, it's better than Ninja for sure, but I still think it's the worst coaster they have, and the last two inversions on it were still rough, the first half of the ride did smooth out though, so some credit is due.
  25. I haven't been on Fury yet, and it seems like a legit ride so I'm going to hold off my judgment on it. I'm more perplexed by Intimidator being Top 10. The fact that I305 is barley in the Top 20 is a joke and Golith at SFOG spent 8 years in the top 10, is 10x better than Intrimitador and its barley clinging on to the top 20.
