Worst roller coaster theme
beenagins87 replied to WestCoasterKing's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hurler made pretty good sense back in the '90s if you got all of the references. When the ride opened, the SNL skits and movies weren't obscure; they were wildly popular & made sense as the movies were from Paramount Pictures. I've been on Hurler at Carowinds, besides the Stan Mikitas (sp) restaraunts out front, was there a lot of theming to waynes world in the paramount days?? -
Worst roller coaster theme

The whole African section at Kings Dominion makes zero sense.. It's themed really well, but a lot of the attractions themselves stick out like a sore thumb, especially I305. -

We went on Good Friday this year, and it was pretty crowded. LR got up to 90 mins at one point, most of the other major coaster hovered between 30-45 mins, but it wasn't anything unbearable. -

I'm glad to hear the seats on Drop Line are more comfortable than Acraphobia, I love Acraphobia, but it kills my manhood. -
I'm with you though. I thought RIddler looked great before... Now, not so much, and it doesn't really make sense with the character. I mean, it's not a BIG deal, but it's really odd, and another strange color combo decision by an amusement park (shockingly, NOT CF this time! lol) My question is, was Riddler's Revenge in NEED of a paint job, let alone a new color scheme? It's like when SFOG turned Ninja into Blue Hawk and gave it a new paint job, even though it was probably the coaster in the park that needed it the least.

I first visited in 2014, so I never got to ride Thunderhead when it was new, but it's never been rough at all to me, the front has always been the smoothest ride imo, but the middle and back aren't anywhere near what I would consider rough, then again roughness is a subjective matter. -

Little off topic, but in actually glad to see Thunderhead with the longest posted wait, it's criminally underrated within the park, it hardly seems to gather a line even on super busy days. I'm sure the new drop tower in the vicinity could have something to do with it, but either way I'm glad to see it getting some love from visitors. -

Those are some really amazing pics.. I think TN Tornado is highly underrated, the only thing I don't like about it, is the constant one train ops, it's ok on slow days, but it seems even on busy days it's only one train. -
Worst Coaster Ever?
beenagins87 replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just curious which one ofthe 4 other B&M's don't fall into the awesome category?? I'm going to guess Superman I have nothing against Superman (other than the slowass loading and its deteriorating paint job) but its really just a great inversion and then meh for the reminder of the ride. I'll certainly ride it when the place is dead or during HITP when the selections are slimmer than usual. SFOG's also kinda ruined ours a bit for me. I'm totally the same way with Superman, it's a neat concept and the pretzel loop is fun, but flying coasters in general are one of the few types of ride that make me queasy, and being that's SFOG is my homepark the heat doesn't help most of the time either. Speaking of SFOG,What is it that everyone likes about SFOGs so much?? The one at Gadv is the only one I haven't been on, but I actually liked the one at Great America better than ours in Georgia. Then again I think that had more to do with not spending 5 mins basking stomach down in southern heat which is my main issue with the SFOG version. -

SFGAm hasn't been my home park in many years, but American Eagle is the furthest ride from the entrance besides perhaps Goliath. No need to run to get on it. It is far less popular than many of the other coasters, plus being at the back of the park will make the line build slowly. If you do want to hit Little Dipper, I'd hit it on your way to the back (I'm not sure how many trains they run as they built it after I left). The Jr. Vekoma is in the kiddie area that, if they are enforcing the rules, you won't be let in without a kid. Unless they changes this rule, but I did check it last summer when I was there and this was still the case. So don't put off American Eagle until the end of the day, but no need to run. My two cents. Why is American Eagle's que line so extensively long??

How are crowds on Mothers Day?? My sister is a nurse and has to work tomorrow, so we did our whole Mothers Day celebration earlier this week, I usually tend to avoid bring a friend free day unless they happen to fall during the week. The only other Holiday i've ever visited the park on has been Easter, and it's a great time to go. I hate long long lines, so I kind of want to get Justice League in while it's in the preview stages this weekend.

The last 5 times i've been to the park [ 2 last September, once last October Opening Weekend and Good Friday] LR has been open every time, now it's has breakdowns throughout each visit, but between those 5 visits I've managed to score about 25 rides all together. There's no doubt LR has had it's fair share of issues, but it's reliability isn't as bad as I think some people have made it out to be. -
Given Six Flags' past, they probably have the old SFOG Ninja trains somewhere and they are using them for parts. I mean they still use parts from Mega Zeph's and Twisted Twins' trains on the Boss' trains. The only new parts train I've seen is one train from Roar. The park didn't get Medusa's trains after it closed and the last Arrow train the park received was the spare for Boomerang. Also weren't the old trains on Blue Hawk Vekoma? If they were I doubt very many parts from thpse trains would work on an Arrow. One of the trains on Blue Hawk was one of the arrow trains from GASM from SFGADV.. It was supposedly the " smoother " train.

I can deal with cold and rainy, as long as it's not freezing. -

Top/Favorite Hyper Coasters
beenagins87 replied to boldikus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Of the 4 Hypers I've been on, the only one I really love is GOLIATH at SFOG 1. Goliath- SFOG 2. Goliath- SFMM 3. Intimitador 232- Carowinds 4. Raging Bull- SFGAM Raging Bull was probably one of the most disappointing coasters experiences of my life.. It's not an awful ride or anything, but for a coaster to have such an amazing first drop, then lose all of it's greatness is rather disappointing. -
I remember back in 2014 JJ also got stuck . . . . but overall, why has JJ fared better than it's ill fated (but awesome in theory) former LIM comrade in coaster Batman & Robin: The Chiller? And if they do remove JJ, what would go in it's place? A boomerang coaster or something along the lines of V2? Something like V2 would really shine at the park I think. Great America has so many outstanding coasters V2 is sort of underrated, kind of like Wicked Twister seems to be at CP.
