SF Memberships are an ill conceived idea. How do you figure? As a consumer I think they're amazingly convenient and given the price points they make a little more on those each year than a standard pass. I happily pay more though because it's so damn convenient. The fact that it's convenient for the consumer doesn't disprove what you're saying, but I'm curious what your basis is for saying it. It's a horrible business idea as it's priced lock. The original point I was discussing with the other poster was increasing revenue. Memberships where people can get a locked in $6/mth is not good business. SF in their own corporate investor presentation acknowledge they need and plan to increase prices and per visitor revenue. Memberships don't help. It is only price locked for a year. I have had a membership now for about 3 years. They raised the price on me. I logged on to cancel. They offered a better price. I kept it. Memberships are not a bad idea at all. They are pretty much the exact price of a season pass.

If you aren't planning to go to other Cedar Fair parks throughout the year, I recommend a lower tier pass. You can then add a parking pass onto your pass by going to customer service. I've had a basic Knott's pass for three years now, and the "one-time-pay" parking pass has come in handy more times than not. Thanks for the advice. Given that a trip to Great America is slightly possible, I did indeed pony up for the platinum. Add to that the increased discount on food and stuff (20% vs. 10%). I am pretty excited. I have not been to Knott's in a few years. I am off on Fridays, so I am looking forward to off peak in the winter/spring to keep the coaster itch scratched while waiting for SFMM to open on weekdays again.

Long time SFMM and Disneyland pass holder, and solo park visitor, now going to take the plunge and get one for Knott's. Looking forward to off peak visits! The recent trip reports have got me excited. A couple questions for the group if you would be so kind. I am going to get the Platinum, as that is the only one that covers parking, and I fully plan to visit more than the 6 times it takes to make it worth while. Is Knott's like SFMM, in that you show them your print out, and you get to park free on your initial visit? Also, how easy/hard is it to get your pass processed? Do they take pictures, or do fingerprint scan like SFMM (God I hope not!). Thank you in advance. As much as I love SFMM, it is time for some variety! I have not been to Knott's in a couple years..and I honestly don't know why. I always have enjoyed it. + Portillos after! PS...I am sure this has probably been answered before, so please forgive that. I am reasonably sure it has not been asked for a long time, as I have been following this thread for quite some time.

#bringbackaladdin LOL...I saw the show, and agree there is not much repeat value there. Aladdin on the other hand..probably saw the show 15 times, and enjoyed it every time. I loved how they always refreshed Aladdin's lines to put in subtle jokes appropriate to current events and trends. I have enjoyed your thread. Thanks.

I had to ask the google on that one.....

I am really liking two new shows this year...Timeless and Designated Survivor. Timeless especially, as I love Doctor Who, so I like the time travel aspect. And also butterfly effect stuff..like Ray Bradbury's Sound of Thunder and Sliding Doors. It is really well done so far.

Your guilty pleasure ride
scottiemon replied to DanTheBooker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
DL: Jungle Cruise...same corny jokes, same good times DCA: Mater's Junkyard Jamboree (I liked Luigis flying tires too!) CGA: Tiki Twirl...I was suprised how much fun this ride is SFMM: Gold Rusher (I am not counting Scream, becuase I think if it was not on a parking lot, this ride would get much more love..or at least a little love?) KBF: La Revolucion..one of only a few spinning ride that does not make me queasy SCBB: Wipeout. ^^See above^^ All parks....swinging pirate ships and swing rides. 51 years old, and still a kid! -

I never though about how a first time poster would feel! Nobody edits others posts, other than to remove offending ones. To explain the word filter more, if you type the roller coaster name that is closest to the entrance with the initials FT, it will replace that name with something else. If you type the name of the locking boxes that you stash your stuff in, it replaces it with the fluffy goo phrase. With all that said, welcome to the forum!

Nope! I really like Ninja. Granted, not as fun since the cut all the trees down, but I still like it. It is a part of my solo trips...I go up the mountain right at opening (after a couple on FT for gold early entrance), marathon Superman, then do the same on Ninja. Ninja is a "sit back and enjoy" kinda coaster. I also like Batman a lot.
