  1. But keep in mind...the front car line is just that, front car. You can end up in row 2, which is second best. Try to line up by looking at people waiting in line. I have seen many time people refuse to get into row two, waiting for row one. Just sayin.
  2. Assuming you arrive at opening, I would hit GhostRider first, Xcelerator second (the back of the park is empty right at opening... you could probably get multiple rides), and the rest in pretty much any order you wish. Silver Bullet's line will move quickly if it's running two trains. I would definitely cut out some time to try some of the Festival food as well... you won't regret it. Totally agree with this advice. If you hit GhostRider right when the park opens, you should get on within 5 minutes. Then if you want a re-ride on it, do it then. In my experience, it is 15 minutes or so if you get right back in line. If not, expect to wait a minimum of 45 minutes any other time in the day, often times longer. Sierra Sidewinder backs up a lot, due to it's low throughput. You might want to keep that in mind. It is the most fun if you are in the back row, so you are facing downwards going up the hill! (IMHO)
  3. You don't need to go to the pass processing center if you buy online and upload your picture. I did this. You just go to the turnstile with your receipt. They scan it, and hand you a pass.
  4. That's awesome. I do the same, with one exception. I do Full Throtttle first, as I have a gold pass, and the ride is usually open for the early entrance. I usually get two rides in, and then up the mountain for Superman. My record is 13 times, without having to get in line again. Many times, being the only person on the ride. Glorious!
  5. Swiffer (Interesting to see if anybody can come up with how I came up with this one)
  6. >>The fact is VR was used at MM to up ridership on Revolution, a low ridership ride.<< I am not going to get into the weeds on this, but I will point this out. VR did not increase ridership. It increased lines, and perhaps excitement, but the throughput is absolutely terrible with dispatch times of anywhere from 5-10 minutes. While I don't have scientific data to support this, I am a regular at this park and have experienced this first hand. If I cannot get on the ride first thing upon opening, it is not worth it. Wait times of over an hour is the norm. Without the VR, this ride has great capacity. With it, it sucks a$$. This is actually a great coaster now with the new trains. Not the fastest, tallest, thrillingest, but actually a very fun ride with great views.
  7. If you remember "The Gong Show", you most certainly remember Chuck Barris. He may or may not have worked for the CIA as an assassin (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind). Dead at age 87. Gong Show was a daily routine for me for a few years in grammar school. Running home so to be on time for the whole show...no VCR/DVR/On Demand like we have today!
  8. They will process the gold pass at the turnstile when you go through the gold early entrance. They don't take pics anymore, so you will put your finger on the reader, and they will hand you the pass right there. They usually open a half hour early, to a barricaded off area. Then, 10 (not 15) minutes before opening, they move the barricade, and you are in. Keep an eye out when entering if X2 is cycling trains before open. It is always subject to opening later. If that is the case, you might want to hit YOLO or Revolution instead. In my experience, YOLO will run a few before the GP gets in. Good Luck!
  9. This is sad...she was a very nice lady. She was a staple on my TV for many years growing up. Mary Tyler Moore, who played TV’s first sexy housewife in the Dick Van Dyke show, and then a single, career woman who could turn the world on with her smile in The Mary Tyler Moore Show, died today. She was 80.
  10. If they catch you in the back seat trying to pick her locks, They're going to send you back to Mother in a cardboard box....
  11. Magic Mountain: Depends..if Fu11 Throttle is open when the gates open for Gold Pass members, I do that first because you can usually get 2-4 rides in before there is a line...sometimes not having to go around. If not, I like to head up to Superman, Escape from Krypton, as that is another opportunity to get some marathoning in. Personal record is 13 times without having to get back in line.
  12. Carrie Fisher, the actress best known as Star Wars‘ Princess Leia Organa, has died after suffering a heart attack. She was 60. #F2016
  13. X2 - because I know it is going to hurt...bad. But will ride to "take one for the team". I will not ride on my solo trips. Xcelerator - because I have not ridden it enough (only 3 times) to get past the anxiety of the launch and top hat. It is over so fast, it is hard to comprehend what happened! But I love it. Sky Screamers - the only one I chicken out on. I can do swing rides like Mickey's Symphony, I even love them. But Sky Screamers...no way, now how. This coming from someone who will ride any coaster, drop ride, frisbees, and even have done a sky coaster. Rides that spin on a small axis - for fear of barfing. Tea Cups? No thank you. Ferris Wheels - I can do Mickey's wheel, with a small level of anxiety. But "true" ferris wheels...scare, the, crud out of me.
  14. This would be awesome. I have not purchased a drink bottle in two years, after having two of them stolen. I would even pay extra for this!!!!
  15. If it is raining, Superman and Full Throttle will be closed for sure. That has been my experience anyway.
  16. December 7th, a day that will live in infamy, Greg Lake of Emerson, Lake, and Palmer passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. Primarily known for his incredible voice, he was also a great guitar and bass player. In this calendar year, we have lost two of the three members of this influential progressive band, with Keith Emerson passing away earlier this year. Greg Lake was also one of the founding members of King Crimson.
