It's going to be a hybrid, just like White Lightning, which sounds good. Really like the Viking theme that's planned too!

That's an older photo though, the supports are now black. It is staying white for now, but part of the first turn after the corkscrew has 'rust' painted on it, and it's likely the whole track will look like that in the near future.

Really impressed with what they've done with the area, plus everywhere you look there's track, brilliant!

^ The reason that the sonic theme was dropped is simply because the deal with Sega ran out and they didn't renew it. I hope they repaint it back to the lighter colors it used to have at some point too, i liked those.

My bet is certainly on it being an RMC!

^Yeah, you're right, so because we haven't yet seen an application it's pointing towards 2018. However it seems very early for them to be teasing the project if it's not for next year.

^^They'd have submitted one months ago if they were going to, it's usually towards the end of the year. I believe plans for The Smiler were submitted in December 2011 so we'd have seen one in December last year or towards the start of this year. However, i think that the area around Katanga Canyon and The Flume site are under the GDO, which means that they don't need planning permission to build as long as it's under certain restrictions.

Just checked RCDB and it seems they have the Intamin shuttle listed under the name Vortex, have the park confirmed this as the name?

That poster is very exciting, can't wait to see what they've got planned. Hope that it's for next year though and not 2018.

Ah, i see the rests in those photos. However, i didn't spot them when i did an online search so as you said, it's possible the design has changed over the years.

Yes, but they are more like arm rests not actual handles. It seems the handles are actually new. The silver rests that are underneath were always there but not the handles themselves.

Regardless of the delayed opening, it's great to see a testing video, looks like it has fast pacing which is fantastic!

^Well, we know those bi rail track pieces on the break run certainly have defaults. Whether that'll actually make an impact or not is questionable.
