Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

I'm sure we'll see a B&M giga next since KI is the only BIG Cedar Fair park that doesn't have a giga -

Maybe $15 mil for the dive machine and then an additional $10 mil for the iron horse of Mean Streak? #pipedreams -
Lightning Run- As squeaky as it is, it just mesmerizes me how such a small coaster can pack such a punch Mega Lite (and it's sisters Piraten, Kawasemi, etc) -Same as above, so wild and so small Gatekeeper- Cause it's so pretty MF- It's just so massive, and a huge piece of theme park history Bizarro (SFNE) - Has a weird mysterious aura IMO, plus it's been on my bucket list for 15 years now Viper (SFMM) -This ride defined my childhood, so watching vids brings an extreme sense of nostalgia Takabisha - Such eye-candy watching such a small train, travelling across so much track Mantis - Just for the roar, it's so loud and sooo 90's B&M

Well the SD Dipper was renovated in I think 1990, and I know the SC Dipper gets exceptional love and care, the kind Six Flags doesn't usually provide. (Both are also painted white like Colossus) Really it was the quake that destroyed Psyclone though, if not for that it may have been a different story. Perhaps there were corners cut on Apocalypse's construction not using the type of wood necessary for the climate and/or neglect the coaster would be likely to receive. I've also heard that the B&M trains were too heavy and finished off what the Northridge earthquake started.

The Rise of Intamin
Superbatboy replied to coastercrazy216's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Bold statement. They don't offer boomerangs, junior / family boomerangs, roller soakers, twisted single-bench wooden coasters, flying coasters, dive coasters, single-car vertical / beyond-vertical drop coasters, balloon race rides, outward-facing spinning coasters, power surge rides, top spin rides, wild mouse coasters, shooting dark rides, splash battle rides, compressed-air launch coasters, wooden coasters with inversions, four-across inverted coasters, blah, blah blah, blah blah... Well if you're gonna get all RCT on me -

Speaking of which, anyone know what accounts for the Intamin drought in the U.S. the past 3 years?? Seems to be a worldwide drought this year, only one attraction listed for '15 -
This makes sense, because Scream is so out of place when you consider the direction MM was going in terms coaster installations at the time. They had just opened X and Deja Vu, which at the time were very innovative and cutting edge. It always struck me as strange that they'd follow up a 4D and GIB with a floorless clone

The first half of Magnum is almost unrideable, feels like a knife going in your back especially on the turnaround and the bottom of the 2nd drop. The 2nd half definitely makes up for it though -

Great video! I still think Magnum has some of the most beautiful trains of all time! -

Have only ridden Apocalypse and Roar east, and the former (even in its rough condition) is miles better
