  1. Hey guys, I will be filming the next round with a certain reality show in the next few weeks and I want some opinions. (It's not American Idol) So I want to know if you guys think as potential TV viewers that you guys would consider voting for me based on what you see here. It's me performing Elton John's Your Song. Thanks alot! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iB2snIySTo
  2. I'm gonna miss the black and green. It was one of my favorite color schemes on a coaster because it was so unique.
  3. I rode Ghostrider about 3 months after it opened when I was eight. I remember it being GLASS smooth. All you felt was the wind against your face and the massive airtime the ride is filled with attempting to throw you out of the train, it felt like the train was gliding through thin air, it was that smooth. Last time I rode it a couple of months ago, it was probably the worst wooden coaster experience I'd ever had. I marathoned on Mean Streak just this past summer, AND it's trims were barely on so that it was running at almost full speed and the pain I felt afterwards wasn't a 10th of what I felt after riding Ghostrider 1 TIME! Ghostrider was my top woodie for years and now it's probably dead last.
  4. The San Diego Wild Animal Park may have purchased Walibi Belgium's failed Vertigo to install over one of the field enclosures. Other speculation believes that it might be a totally new Mountain Glider from Doppelmyer.
  5. I'm glad the Mickey head is gone. It never made much sense considering the loop never outlined it like they say it does, so it always looked kinda bad.
  6. I feel that parks need to value their water rides a little more. If the Rim Runner does indeed go another way to cool off in Las Vegas will be lost. At one point, the strip had four water rides (excluding the Venetian's Grand Canal Gondolas) Now they will have none. To think that we've lost The Edge, Grand Rapids, The Nile River Adventure and soon the Rim Runner really sucks. Not to mention Wet N' Wild. I think water rides are an important part of a well-rounded ride collection and parks all over seem to be forgetting that as we see more and more water rides removed. (HersheyPark, Carowinds, Cedar Point, Kings Dominion, and more.) I miss the old Rim Runner with all of it's theming intact. Does anyone have pictures of the old theming? Or pictures of the ride in it's closed state? Rim Runner was my favorite ride until I turned ten so it holds quite a bit of sentimental value for me.

  8. I have a question about Circus Circus in those days. Does anyone remember a skyway system that took you from the Adventuredome to the main Casino? I know of the tracked tramway, parts of which are still operating, but I remember a Skyway system being there as well that was like a more modern version of Disneyland's old Skyway. Does anyone know what happened to it?
  9. ^ I never thought I'd call an inanimate object that is hundreds of feet taller than me and is several thousand times my weight sexy, but I agree. Manta is one fine girl and I can't wait to ride her. Gigitty Giggitty
  10. I don't want to be a pessimist. But I honestly don't see Starliner getting relocated. It's several decades old and from what I understand it isn't that exciting of a coaster. I think the Vekoma Junior Suspended Coaster will be saved and the Spinning Mouse too.
  11. I could see Nut Tree becoming like Silverwood as it grows. That actually looks like a really fun kiddy coaster.
  12. Voyager of the Seas is still one of the largest cruise ships in the world FYI. At around 135,000 tons it is only slightly smaller than Liberty of the Seas. Thanks for some more great pictures Robb. You guys sure seem to love your ziplines.

I'm an Acer, but I definately don't see eye to eye with them on the importance of preserving ALL the old rides they can. If its a fun ride and it's old and they want to fight it getting torn down, thats one thing. But to whine and complain about a crappy old woody that is not enjoyable to say the least getting bulldozed in spite of it's so called "Historical Value" is just pointless to me. I'd rather have a fun NEW ride instead of a painful rickety one with historical value any day. I don't really give a rat's fart about which coaster is the oldest or the first with this type of lap bar or any of that crap. All that matters to me is that it's fun. But I think Acers can be a wonderful bunch, some people just spoil the organization's name for the rest of us.
  14. I'm personally looking forward to Diamondback the most, I just hope I can make it out to KI this summer. Otherwise I'm also excited about Terminator: Salvation at SFMM!
  15. I question whether the track is really usable..... it's been dormant for so long without regular maintanance. Despite the statement above I hope the best for this endevour as this ride looks like a truly unique one to experience, I'm just a cautious optimist.
  16. Seriously these ships are getting so big I am still surprised that no one has tried to put rides on them- A LIM shuttle coaster or something... Actually, for a while, when Carnival was designing their new Dream Class Ships, (Then called Project Pinnacle) they were planning on building the first at-sea Rollercoaster. Unfortunately no other specifics were given.
  17. Great pics so far Robb. If you guys think Liberty of the Seas is big, wait until Royal Carribean's new Oasis Class is launched next year! This class will feature ships that are 70,000 gross tons larger than Liberty of the Seas. They will even have an on-ship Zipline! Ok, back on topic... is the Ben and Jerry's included with the cruise fare? Cause if I remember you had to pay extra for the Johnny Rocket's on Royal Carribean's other ships. Seriously though, you guys should start Cruise Ship Review!
  18. It looks like Europa Park has some amazing theming. A lot of the park actually reminds me of Disneyland. Especially their Adventureland.
  19. ^Wow, great pics! How often does Magnum have that starfield effect going? I didn't even have an idea that it existed. I'll try to dig up some of my photos in a little bit.
  20. Hello! I can't give to much information because I know so little, but if I remember correctly, Garfield's American Adventures was to be built on the site of the closed Old Indiana Fun Park. Hope this helps!
  21. First off, I think Scream is an awesome coaster that is completely underrated. I also think it is one of the uglier coasters on the planet, but I don't care about looks, I care about the ride experience. That being said I'll get on-topic by saying that I love the shade of blue on what's currently known as Medusa. I know Sharipro did want to increase the DC Superhero theming so this makes me wonder whether this will be tied into that as well.
  22. ^ Didn't Jay Thomas already say that Flashbacks's old spot was reserved for a Hurricane Harbor expansion? I honestly don't think Flashback's spot will ever see another coaster because of the noise issue with Hurricane Harbor's lifeguards.
  23. When you compare the photos of Scream and Medusa, you realize that Scream is one ugly coaster. I LOVE the new paint on Medusa.
  24. Maybe... they're thinking that riding the rides isn't the important part of the night and that the countdown to midnight and the fireworks is the big finale.
