  1. Today - Took photos of Goliath at SFGAm When was the last time you rode a Rocky Mountain Construction coaster?
  2. ^I'm assuming they probably would use steel for the actual moving part of the transfer track - would be interesting to switch from steel to wood to steel, though. Also, the trains look great. They look a lot how goliath's are going to be. Interesting that RMC uses their own trains on all of their new creations now - probably due to the NTAG accident.
  3. ^Then they will be the first park to have 2 splashdown effects for a coaster! Sheikra & Cheetah Hunt!
  4. What do you mean by "not fully tightened?" There were a few inches of gap between my legs and the restraint - I tried to pull it down further but it wouldn't lock tighter to my legs.
  5. ^Yeah. The crew for X-Flight was very inefficient. On opening day a row (I believe it was 7) was already closed off with those tarps that say "next row, please". The maintenance had the whole winter to make sure the ride would be ready to go, but they couldn't figure out row seven. Also, I rode in the back and my restraint was not fully tightened when I pulled it down, so they told me when the train leaves, pull it down and it will lock. It worked, however, I don't understand why it didn't lock right away. I think the crew made the most of the "sketchy" restraints. Someone can tell me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost sure this isn't happening at cedar point on Gatekeeper.
  6. Did some of Montu's trenches flood? Or is that on higher ground that Cheetah Hunt so the midways don't direct water to the trench?
  7. Just got back from the park - really busy and I was tired from a track and field meet the day before. Here some of photos for you to enjoy: Station looks almost done. Track is all complete on this segment of the lift. Other side of the lift. The "beam" that extends in the middle of the photo is the brake run. You can't see in this photo, but the station is about 75 feet to the right. Once all of the track is complete, I'm sure they will start installing the brakes.
  8. Oh no! That's got to be 5-6 feet of water...
  9. ^To my knowledge, no. There have been some technical difficulties with the rotating seats, which is expected since it is a prototype ride.
  10. I don't mean to steal Lightning Run's thunder, but Deep Water Dive is now complete: Photo from Kentucky Kingdom's facebook page.
  11. Those trains look freakishly similar to Rocky Mountain's trains on Outlaw Run.
  12. Depending on how much time I have in the park, you can count me in for posting some photos of Goliath!
  13. The rumors I have heard have been a steel coaster, so all I can hope for the Mega-lite to make it's debut in the U.S.
  14. I love those trains! The lead car looks like it is going to be as aerodynamic as possible. Also, the logo/sign has a nice rustic feel which I like. Great job, Kentucky Kingdom!
  15. ^ I was thinking about that, but then the park would have the GP being like "Woah, woah what's that? the new ride is open! Let's take a ride!"
  16. The two trains will be great! I have never ridden one of these, but I can see the popularity of these based on how many parks are getting these. Only two years since the prototype model and already four (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) are built/announced.
  17. ^Thanks for the clarification - I guess I wasn't thinking about the early morning.
  18. ^Thanks. I used to be on the "I hope it opens soon" train, but now I'm probably the only one on this board who wants it to be delayed. Also, how would the park do a Media day on a weekday when the park is open?
  19. Robb just confirmed that media day will be the 29th. I am so annoyed right now because my school is going to D.C. during that time so I am going to miss it. Now if the opening could be pushed back further...
  20. ^Probably. Last season almost every episode feature some drop tower slide, and if KK's version is the second tallest in America, I don't see why they would leave it out.
  21. ^You're right - that does make sense now that I think about it. That's going to be a lot of positive G for a drop tower!
  22. ^I know, right. I love how the whole "water slide wars" is just one park beating another slide out by a foot. I guess Kentucky Kingdom's version will be superior because of the capsule. Drop capsules are the best!
  23. To me, it looks like it would be fun! Intamin rides are generally very smooth, with no lurching. Your judgement is as good as mine at this point, so we will have to wait and see.
  24. Your TR is amazing! I love the blurry train photos...especially the one of the dive loop and the gravestone. Reminds me of such a great day it was!
