  1. ^I love how sometimes when walking up to a drop slide, if you are nervous (and your heart rate is already up), the stairs make the heart rate even higher!
  2. ^Thanks! Were those sides to the vehicles some type of fabric? While I was there a few days ago I captured the accents on the catch car. Here it is:
  3. Thanks for the pictures! Those night shots of the train look phenomenal! I like how this ride just starts from the station with an inversion, too - very Thunderation and Hydra like.
  4. Also, If you can't fit in the seats, roller coasters might not be the hobby for you - it's not required!
  5. Boss Gwazi Any Vekoma Boomerang Coney Island Cyclone - sorry, Cyclone fans.
  6. ^I forgot about the topper track filling and overlay. It is still a lot to, but the testing could be condensed into a smaller time slot if the construction takes longer. 25 cycles in a day is like nothing, I'm sure they could at least do 100 (or something around that). Anyone know how long the testing for Outlaw Run took?
  7. Looks like there are only a few pieces left to be installed for the lift. The piece that went into place recently is the last support before the apex. The crew might start installing pieces from the other side now so the middle of the lift with no supports doesn't collapse on itself. There are currently 4.5 weeks until Memorial Day. If the crew can finish the lift off this week (the remaining pieces are already complete waiting in the parking lot, right) then that will give them 3.5 weeks to start testing - assuming the trains come soon. I heard somewhere that Outlaw Run tested each train 300 cycles, so I'm sure Goliath will be somewhere near that number. The number of test runs per day will be around 25 considering Goliath has two trains (seems reasonable). We could be looking at this thing opening around Memorial Day or on Memorial Day if the crew starts working in high gear.
  8. ^^^Unless you want to get all of the credits, I would skip Cheetah Chase - standard wild mouse clone (nothing special). I was there last Monday, and it wasn't very busy. My suggestion would be to get there early, run for Cheetah Hunt, then go over to Sheikra and Kumba via the Skyride (opens 30 minutes prior to park opening). Montu had a very short line the entire day while I was there, and for some reason in the middle of the day Gwazi's line was an hour long. I hit up that ride in the afternoon and the line died down - didn't want to wait an hour for a rickety and bumpy woodie! The waterpark is always a nice place to be if the midways start to get hot and you want to cool off. Anyways, enjoy your trip. An update on Falcon's Fury would be great!
  9. Strange...I did not think this would be a capsule slide. It's going to be Summit Plummet on steroids - minus the theme.
  10. ^^They did that plan with X-flight a few years ago. Opening Day was on the 5th (Saturday) and X-flight opened on the 16th - it was a Wednesday, though... Not sure it drew much crowds for a weekday in May.
  11. The price is also listed in Euros which they're not using in Tampa! Glad Scorpion is there to stay because I enjoy that coaster and it has some nice force on the loop and turns.
  12. Anyone know what the qualifications to attend Goliath's Media Day are?
  13. Just found some new construction photos from the facebook page! extension for the station. Lift looks good!
  14. ^^Thanks for the pictures. Nice to see some lift structure is fully constructed on the ground, and ready to be lifted into place.
  15. The new video gives a perspective on how "goliath" the dive loop element is! The construction is starting to head down the home stretch - Can't wait for this coaster!
  16. ^I noticed that too. It seemed like it came undone at the bottom not in a violent way, but as if it wasn't attached for the whole way (looks like there were holes for bolts in it to mount to the seats - I couldn't imagine all of the bolts would have snapped). Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't cause too much issues.
  17. WOW! That drop looks scary! Wonder why they rotate the seats before the train slows and doesn't create as much "whip" on the riders. In case anyone wanted to see an off-ride test drop that I filmed on Tuesday (4-22), you can click to the link below.
  18. Looks like a great setting for a coaster! That first drop off the cliff is sure to be intense. Can't wait for this thing - 2 more years...
  19. First drop looks nice - love the orange! It went in very quick!
  20. ^Yes. It was more like 30 to 40 minutes. Expected since they haven't worked all of the bugs out yet. Give it a month or two and breakdowns will be very rare. I'm wondering what was wrong with the brakes - they tested it when they thought the figured it out and it looked fine.
  21. Great TR, Robb. Nice to hear Beast was running very smooth - I can't wait to ride it for myself tomorrow.
  22. No tightening at all - they were very comfortable. All in all, I thought the ride was great, with some nice positive GeForces in the last half of the ride.
  23. Looks like some of Banshee's night effects were being tested today...
  24. That just puts a smile on my face - her laughter is contagious. This shows a coaster can be enjoyed by all ages.
  25. Greg Scheid ‏@KIGMGREG · 7h "I will be in the park after dark tonight to view the lighting effectson #kibanshee. Based on the video I saw from last night, WOW!" We should be in for a treat - these rides at night might be better than the beast.
