  1. I share in the excitement and questions posted recently. Concerning events: check out Holliwoodnights. Concerning the ride: ride it!! Decide for yourself this season.
  2. From the time I reach the top of the lift, my favorite coasters provide constant speed, relative smoothness, and air time (which can vary depending on many things). Overall I look for a ride with speed and a few surprises. A hill in the second half of a ride with good airtime will usually rate high in my book. I'm a woodie fan. Concerning steel: I look for a ride where the inversions are enjoyable and spaced out enough to be enjoyed.
  3. Have her evaluate her situation and maybe talk to her Dr. My opinion of the coaster is that it's moderate, but I have no conditions to worry about. Calculate the risk and make an educated decision. Best wishes
  4. cyclone would you rather have never discovered TPR or never have sex with a virgin?
  5. Rockin' Roller Coaster because I'm often on my way to a concert and always jammin'.
  6. ^Yeah, Beast probably is overrated. That doesn't change the fact that I've been dreaming of a ride on Beast for almost 20 years now and will fulfill my dream in just over 4 months. I also want to ride Revolution. This post is about dream rides, not best coasters.
  7. Coaster05, I like your choices. I will ride both of these coasters within the next 2 years.
  8. So my count is only 30 but will more than triple this summer as I make trips to CP, SFGAmer, PKI, and other parks. Ever since I was 13 I've wanted to ride Beast. I read an article in popular mechanics about the coaster and have been dreaming ever since the 80's? I'll enjoy my first Beast ride this June. Will I be disappointed? I think not because my expectations are within reason and I just want to have fun. What coaster do you dream about riding? If your count is really high, don't be a snob. This is about current, individual coaster dreams, not the "best" coaster on the planet.
  9. I confess! Over the weekend I was broke and at some seedy bar in Iowa called Woobies. I drank 2 busch lights in a can. This goes against my beliefs. Please forgive me
  10. No, only a few days a week. Do you clear the lint out of the dryer before each load?
  11. The only place I truly "like" to shop is REI. Oh, and the liquor store. (':b')
  12. Just my arm when I fell off the bleachers as a freshman in 1987. How embarrasing.
  13. Yes Will you swim in the ocean this summer?
  14. After rereading all posts in this thread, I've decide to share my thoughts. Thanks Robb for posting updated photos. I confess, The Voyage has been on my mind every day since it was announced. I check out Holiday World's web cam several times a day and am always looknig for new pictures on holiblog. Will the ride live up to it's anticipation? I think it will. The Koch family and Holiday World staff are serious about their coasters and frankly know what they're doing. Concerning the name: I love it. It's a perfect name for the Thanksgiving section. Imagine being part of the first voyage from Europe to America. I also like the name becasue it has 2 syllables like the Raven and the Legend. Plus a coaster ride is a voyage of sorts and this one is sure to be fun. I'll be there opening weekend, Holiwood Nights, and several times throughout the season. I hope to meet many of you there.
  15. I love Mission Space. As soon as the ride started and I found myself leaning back 90 degrees and looking up the launch pad, I empathized with astronauts like never before and felt a real sense of the courage needed to blast off into outer space. I also loved the sensation of weightlessness as the rocket left the atmosphere. For me the launch and entry into space were the highlights of the ride. I really enjoyed the experience.
  16. I'm also very excited to find out that one of my all time favorite coasters, the Screamin' Eagle, is receiving a new paint job. This John Allen classic is worth the paint. Maybe SFSTL will light her up with the continuous blinking bulbs the way they used to.
  17. If screams are genuine I love them. They can be screams of fear, joy, fun, surprise, or pain. On the other hand, if people are screaming throughout an entire ride just to be screaming, I find that mildly annoying.
  18. No, but I've owned most other animals. Do you drive a stick-shift?
  19. NO Do you ski?
  20. Hi friends, I haven't been a member of a coaster club since the late 80s when I joined ACE for one year. Now I plan to join a club, largely to attend Holiwood Nights. I'm looking for feedback regarding which club to join. Any advice? The clubs I'm considering include: American Coaster Enthusiasts CoasterBuzz Club Coaster Crew Coaster Zombies Darkride and Funhouse Enthusiasts European Coaster Club Florida Coaster Club Mid-Atlantic Coaster Club National Amusement Park Historical Association RideWorld Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain Western New York Coaster Club I would just rejoin ACE, but fee is $60 and I probably won't attend any of their events.
  21. yes have you ever had your cholesterol checked?
  22. I've ridden only one floorless: Kraken, and it was pure bliss.
  23. No Do you have any kids?
  24. boy would you rather speak fluent Chinese or Korean?
  25. no do you eat dessert often?
