Roller Coaster Riding World Record
Eagle Rider replied to Eagle Rider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
To qualify for Guinness you only get a 15 min. break every 8 hrs. Ouch! I wonder if I should start a coaster riders union. -
As far as I know the current record for the most continuos rides on a roller coaster is held by Richard Rodriguez who rode Expedition Ge-Force for 104 days. This beat his old record of riding the Boss at SFSTL for 100 days. The Boss is my hometown coaster and if I ride multiple times I am bruised and have a headache. That just means I need a beer break before more coaster laps. So my question to all you fine TPR folks: If you were to attempt to break Rodriguez's record, what coaster would you want to ride for 104+ days? My choice: Raging Bull

No Do you ever visit TPR while at work?

Hi TPR friends. For the last 8 years I've lived in the almost coaster free state of Oregon. Once I went to Oaks park in Portland, but that was it. People do other things there besides visit theme parks. I almost went to Seattle to visit wild waves and enchanted village to ride Timberhawk, but never made it. Also, everytime I was in the Bay area I was too busy to make it to the theme parks, or they were closed. I recently moved to St Louis and am planning to visit many parks in the upcoming years. Currently I go to SFSTL at least twice a week during the operating season. I live a mere 15 min. from the park. Holiday World in only a 3 hr drive and I just purchased a season pass. Aren't we all excited about riding Voyage? In other news, I love live music and am going to see the Stones in 2 weeks. I'm a middle school teacher. Love it. Parks I most want to visit this summer, but may not include: CP, Kennywood, and Knobels.

Favorite Disney Park
Eagle Rider replied to America Sings Freak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When visiting WDW, MGM, EPCOT and Hurricane Harbor with 60 8th graders, I enjoyed EPCOT the most. We only spent one day there but it was bliss. -

live with Clay... he's more my size. Would you rather wait for 45 min. and have a ride break down get stuck on a lift for 45 min.

Most Themed Ride?
Eagle Rider replied to PCW FREAK's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I gotta go with Rockin' Rollercoaster. The holographic band intro, speakers on the trains, day-glo street signs as you zip along the tracks, ending the ride as if you're entering a concert venue... A+ theming. -
Coaster Roughness
Eagle Rider replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Any responsible park checks the coaster tracks and trains daily. Both undergo rioutine maintenance. Trains should receive routine wheel maintenance and wheel changes, just like we change tires on our cars. Wooden coasters also need to be retracked every few years, especially in spots where extensive force is placed on the tracks. Just as we sometimes neglect our needed car maintenance, parks are operating on a budget and spend money where they see fit. The more they opt to spend on coaster maintemance, the smoother the ride. It's all about priorities. -
Screw you guys! I'm going home.

What Was the Last Beer You Drank?
Eagle Rider replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Schafly Expedition Reserve Ale, in honor of Lewis & Clark The label is nice, the ale isn't bad either. -
Nashville Skyline - Todd Snider Check Todd out and you'll be glad you did. What's his music like? Hmmm, a young Bob Dylan with a sense of humor and a shot of Tom Petty thrown in. He's an incredible song writer and really funny. If you've ever heard of him it's probably his song, "Beer Run."
