  1. Construction on the building for Battle for Metropolis has begun. From the park's Facebook.
  2. ...when you're going up on an escalator, you're disappointed at the top when there's no drop.
  3. I also found Banshee more intense than Raptor, which is odd because I was expecting it to be the other way around since Raptor's layout is less drawn-out than Banshee's. They're both great rides regardless.
  4. Photo of Valleyfair's Corkscrew and Ferris wheel in the snow. From VF's Facebook page.
  5. I typically prefer the back seat on most coasters since they tend to throw me around more (in a good way) and giver better airtime, although I prefer the front seat if I'm on an invert, a floorless, or a particularly rough coaster.
  6. Back when I was a semi-enthusiast (becoming interested in coasters but still a GP in some ways), inversions were a large factor in whether or not I thought a coaster looked interesting, but once I became more knowledgeable/experienced with the hobby, I dropped that mindset. A coaster doesn't need inversions to be fun. Even though six of the coasters in my top ten have inversions, the inversions themselves aren't the reason why I like those rides, they are just all-around great coasters.
  7. We're forecasted to receive 5-9 inches of snow through tomorrow night in our first decent snowstorm of the season. I'm actually looking forward it because the snow is much nicer to look at than the brown grass in my opinion.
  8. ...your family/friends frequently share coaster/park news on your Facebook profile. ...you knew about said news before they posted it.
  9. ...you wish there were roller coaster/theme park-related classes in college.
  10. I saw Creed today. Excellent addition to the Rocky saga. While the plot is fairly predictable, the acting definitely makes up for it. Stallone gave one of his best performances since the original film. Michael B. Jordan also did a great job. Would like to see another sequel or two to see where they can take Jordan's character. I'd rank it as my third favorite film in the series behind Rocky and Rocky II.
  11. I've ridden three Arrow mine trains: Thunderation, Adventure Express, and Cedar Creek Mine Ride. I rode Thunderation when I was 7, so I don't recall too much about it, although I do remember it being a fun ride. Adventure Express has some good moments and decent laterals that made for a fun ride despite the anticlimactic ending. Cedar Creek Mine Ride is my least favorite of the three, jerky transitions and not much excitement.
  12. Pumpkin. Forceless or too intense?
  13. The only two non-home park rides I've ridden in their first season are Goliath-SFGAm (2014) and Rougarou (2015).
  14. Back to the Future.
  15. While nothing's official yet, I'm planning a tentative trip to Missouri next year in May or June to visit World's of Fun and Silver Dollar City.
  16. Universal Studios Hollywood - Universal City, California
  17. Most of Cedar Fair's 2016 announcements were pretty lackluster.
  18. Steel: Millennium Force Wood: Goliath (SFGAm)
  19. The Bat at Kings Island is another coaster that I think doesn't get enough attention. Much more intense than I was expecting it to be, and much better than Iron Dragon at CP.
  20. http://m.swnewsmedia.com/shakopee_valley_news/news/public_safety/fire-damages-storage-building-at-valleyfair/article_15966596-9c2e-50d9-9367-a09364f14e44.html?mode=jqm Edit: Dave Frazier confirmed that it was the London Terror building that caught fire.
  21. -Opened in 2000. -Clone of Ride of Steel at Darien Lake. -Intamin hypercoaster. -Located in Gotham City section of SFA. Next: Dragon at Adventureland (Iowa)
  22. Valleyfair - Renegade Nickelodeon Universe - Avatar Airbender
