  1. Batman: The Ride - Six Flags Great America
  2. Zoomerang - Lake Compounce
  3. Unfortunately, never. When was the last time you rode a B&M?
  4. Not having diarrhea at all. What's better than having a roller coaster in your backyard?
  5. ^ I can't stand people that use "the" before the ride's name. If you ask me, "the" sort of takes away the ride's personality. What's even worse is that at my home park, Valleyfair, the park itself refers to many of it's rides as the Wild Thing, or the Corkscrew, or the Renegade. If "the" is in the name of ride, as in The Beast or The Smiler, I'm okay with it, but otherwise, it gets very annoying.
  6. First and foremost, is Insane Coaster Wars going to have a 3rd season? It's about a month before the show would be premiering, but I've heard nothing official about a 3rd season from the Travel Channel or any other official source. If anyone has any official confirmation of a 3rd season, please share it. Second, I really don't know what coasters would be on a 3rd season because there are so many good coasters out there that deserve to be on a show like this. Third, I still have problems with this show's rating method. It's definitely better than having people vote online, but in my opinion, the voting should contain either all coaster enthusiasts or all GP. It sounds like it would be hard to do, but it seems like the most fair method.
  7. Here in Minnesota, the past week has been cold and rainy, but now things are looking warmer and sunnier.
  8. B&M Invert. Mt. Olympus or Six Flags America?
  9. Granted, but they would have reliability issues and lots of downtime. I wish that the offseason wasn't so long.
  10. Granted, but the hornets and wasps will find a way into your house. I wish that I would never have to wait in line for a coaster or ride ever again.
  11. Wild Thing - Valleyfair
  12. ...your DVR is full of roller coaster/amusememt park shows.
  13. I agree. Even though it's not impossible for VF to get a new coaster in 2015 or 2016, the general direction of things leads me to believe that 2017 will be our year. Also, if 2016 does end up being a year of general improvements, then it might not be a bad idea for Valleyfair to have a 40th anniversary event similar to the one happening at Kings Diminion this year. It would be interesting for the park to bring back some stuff that it had in it's early days. I wouldn't know what those would be because I'm not that old, but it would be cool to see. Even though Route 76 is an addition with a nostalgia factor, a 40th anniversary event is still possible in my opinion.
  14. Most people have been thinking that 2015 will be the waterpark expansion, and then a new coaster will come in 2016. I've been thinking about this lately, and I think that while we will get the waterpark expansion next year, 2016 will be a year with just general improvements and no new coaster. I think that it will happen that way because Valleyfair has had years in the recent past with no new additions (2010, 2012), so based on that trend, the park might decide to just go with general improvements for 2016. Also, that would give VF another year to save capital to build a quality coaster rather than something cheap. I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer, just trying to be realistic.
  15. Webcam is down again. Anyone know why?
  16. Grr... This was posted a while ago, but I just hate how one accident makes the GP instantly assume that all roller coasters are unsafe. http://news.discovery.com/adventure/activities/rollercoasters-danger-risk-130722.htm
  17. Looks fun. I haven't been to MOA in a while, so I might need to get back soon. As for a new coaster, I'm still not sure about what could fit inside the building and still be thrilling.
  18. Yeah, High Roller is a fun ride for what it is, but I'd say that the best experience is in the front (smoother, and decent airtime). I honestly don't consider any of the coasters at VF "bad" coasters. I just like some more than others.
  19. I'm a bit surprised that you guys ranked High Roller relatively high, considering how trimmed up it is, but you are entitled to your own opinion.
  20. Valleyfair on opening weekend.
  21. This is a bit random, but for those of you that have been to Valleyfair, how would you rank the roller coasters here from favorite to least favorite? I have seen lots of lists like this for many parks out there, but never one for my home park, and I'd like an idea of how everyone else thinks. My List 1) Renegade 2) Steel Venom 3) Wild Thing 4) Excalibur 5) Corkscrew 6) High Roller 7) Mad Mouse 8) Cosmic Coaster (I've never actually been on this one, but since it's a kiddie coaster, I'd say it's fair to put it last.)
  22. Titan (SFOT)
  23. Quicksilver Express
  24. SFGAm: $8 for a small basket of fries that taste like garbage.
  25. I've never really understood why orange and yellow is such a popular color combination at Cedar Fair parks. I think it's a bit strange that Valleyfair's Corkscrew and Mad Mouse have such similar color schemes.
