  1. ...you own the CoasterCounter app and update it routinely after you get off the coasters.
  2. Short Follow-Up Trip Report I was able to return to Valleyfair on Sunday for a few hours and had a much better time. I did 10 laps on Renegade due to the short lines, so I was a happy camper. Also had 2 laps on both Steel Venom and Wild Thing (a few of the trim brakes near the end of the MCBR were turned off, so that was nice). The only downside to the day was that I heard a lot of dumb GP comments while waiting for Renegade. The best one was "Renegade is boring because it doesn't go upside-down." Renegade: Outlaw Coaster
  3. Despite the title, a good part of this trip report takes place during daylight hours, but it was my first time visiting Valleyfair during the evening since it became my home park, so I decided why not make a photo trip report out of it. Overall, I had a fun time, but it wasn't my favorite visit of all time. It was quite crowded, but it was Saturday, so that was to be expected. There were cloudy skies for most of the day. It wasn't hot, but it was humid. The operations varied by ride, so they were either good or really bad. I also went to see if there were any new clues about the 2015 waterpark expansion, but I found nothing. Here are the photos... It had been about a month since my last visit, so it was nice to be back here. Started off the day with High Roller. Had a pretty average ride on it. Grass where Hydroblaster used to be. These flags in the old IMAX spot are new, but they're probably decorative flags. Had a really rough ride on Excalibur. I guess the floodwaters didn't help it at all. Was going to ride Renegade, but it was stopped on the lift hill. Don't know why. Went to ride Wild Thing instead, which was running great today, and as you'll see, I really needed it to be. A game on FunTV. A line this long + one-train operation + the fact that it's Saturday = an annoyed coaster enthusiast. Really, Valleyfair? Unless there is some problem I'm not aware of that doesn't allow two-train operation, this is just Valleyfair operating on the cheap. Went to ride Corkscrew instead since it had a short wait. It was fun as per usual. Street Beat playing a tune. Took a ride on Enterprise since it's a guilty pleasure ride for me. They weren't filling the ride to it's full capacity, so that was irritating. Dear Renegade, Why won't you run two trains? Bottom of Wild Thing's chain lift for chain lift enthusiasts. The wait for Wild Thing wasn't that bad, but it would've been nice if they ran the third train. Tilter lit up during the evening. Up next was Steel Venom, which was fun as usual. Steel Venom's holding brake. Wild Thing going through the figure-8. More decorational flags. The ferris wheel looks great with the new lights. Monster lit up. High Roller's second hill lit up. A kids' show in Planet Snoopy. Corkscrew going through the second corkscrew. Mad Mouse, which I have yet to ride this year. Wild Thing's lift hill lit up. Rode Wild Thing 5 times today. It was running great because I was able to sit in the back and get good airtime, and the MCBR trims weren't the worst they've ever been. Games midway lit up. Enterprise at night. Steel Venom's twisty spike. I unfortunately had to leave earlier than I wanted. I'm glad I went, but it was disappointing that I never got to ride Renegade, the best ride in the park. Hopefully it isn't as busy next time.
  4. Kumba - Busch Gardens Tampa
  5. From what I've ridden, probably Excalibur at VF because to the left, it's an industrial area, and to the right, it's just trees.
  6. Why would Kings Dominion need another Gigacoaster when they have Intimidator 305?
  7. On-Ride Photo
  8. I think I'll be perfectly fine with this expansion because it sounds like at least part of this expansion could bring some new water slides that are actually thrilling. Something thrilling is exactly what VF needs because Renegade (2007) was the last thrilling addition. Even though Northern Lights (Disk'O coaster) was a better ride than I expected, I wouldn't call it a thrill ride. I've said this before, but the waterpark needs this expansion badly because Soak City is one of the worst, if not the worst waterpark in the Cedar Fair chain.
  9. Dragon Challenge
  10. Granted, but it spins so much that you become nauseous. I wish that Six Flags' queue line TVs weren't so annoying.
  11. Cyclone - Six Flags New England
  12. Sorry about bringing such an old thread back to life, but I wanted to share my opinion here. I have no problem with having an honest opinion and being reasonably critical about roller coasters and thrill rides because these opinions generally give me an idea of if it's a ride that I really want to experience in the future, and I'd rather be told the truth than be lied to. Although, I can get annoyed with enthusiasts that get so overly critical that they don't enjoy the ride at all. Coaster enthusiasts will naturally be more critical of coasters than the GP, but if you're going to take coaster riding so seriously that it isn't at least a little fun, then why bother being an enthusiast? Fortunately, most enthusiasts I know of don't act like that.
  13. X-Flight - Six Flags Great America
  14. Even though X-Flight at SFGAm is my current favorite roller coaster, it has my least favorite station. There's nothing wrong with the boarding procedure or the theming. It's the annoying-as-heck recorded boarding instructions: "ATEEEEEEENTION! X-FLIGHT RECRUITS, WELCOME TO YOUR TOP SECRET MISSION X-FLIGHT!" I don't understand how anyone can stand listening to that.
  15. B&M - Dragon Challenge: Chinese Fireball - I don't dislike this ride at all. It's my #11 favorite on my personal list. I just have to choose my least favorite B&M and this one is it. Intamin - American Eagle - It's kinda rough and bland, and it doesn't realy have much airtime in my opinion. GCI - Gwazi - I rode Gwazi when I was a little kid, so I don't really remember how the ride experience went, but considering all of the hate this ride gets, I guess it's okay to call it my worst GCI.
  16. Tony Hawk
  17. Thinking about possibly going to VF this Saturday night since I've never actually been to the park at night. Should I expect Saturday evening/night to be busy? If I do go, I'll probably make a Photo TR out of it, and I'll report anything new that I find. Also, I found this POV on YouTube of Mad Mouse from 1999. The ride is basically the same, but it's cool to see it in it's old color scheme.
  18. Looks like Valley Hills is getting a GCI woodie. Should be a nice addition.
  19. Didn't like that second episode because the scores looked messed up to me. Superman: El Ultimo Escape looks like a lot a fun, but not better than Raptor or Goliath. I also thought that Endor L'Attaque should have scored lower, but then again, most of these voters are probably in the GP.
  20. Granted, but whatever you're anticipating on the 22nd will be cancelled. I wish it wasn't so humid where I live.
  21. Is it just me, or does Insane Coaster Wars not start until 8pm (Central Time) tonight?
  22. I don't think this dream was that weird, but a few nights ago, I dreamed that I was riding High Roller at VF, but it was a spinning coaster. It had the normal wooden structure, but it had spinning coaster cars, and I was getting sideways airtime . I had one lap on it, and that's all I remember.
  23. ^ Yeah, I heard that Dinos are only supposed to be here for a few more years. Putting a B&M invert in that location would be a good idea, but I think that the new coaster is going to go somewhere else in the park because the new coaster will probably be here by 2017, and I don't think the Dinos leave until 2018 or 2019. I guess they could relocate the Dinos to somewhere else in the park if they did end up putting a coaster there, but if the Dinos are only temporary, then I don't see the point in moving the attraction around.
