  1. ^ Wait a minute, did they move the announcement to tomorrow, or is it still on Tuesday?
  2. ^ I'd love to see Wild Thing get B&M trains, but I can't see the park getting a good return on investment for that. Besides, I think Wild Thing's current trains are just fine. As for the inversions on a B&M, I agree with you for the most part, but I'd prefer a smaller vertical loop because I find those to be more forceful. Plus, the B&Ms with large vertical loops are usually the really expensive ones, and I wouldn't expect to see anything more than $18 million spent on VF's next coaster. Also, according to valleyfairfanatic, GM Frazier said that we wouldn't be getting a Banshee-sized invert, so an invert at VF would likely be more Talon-esque.
  3. ^ I believe there is a private event. Don't know who is renting out though.
  4. 10. Wild Thing - VF. I don't find WT as boring as most enthusiasts do. It has some good floater air and decent forces. 9. Dragon Challenge (Blue) - IOA. Unlike most, I prefer blue over red on this one. DC is relentless from start to finish. 8. Viper - SFGAm. Floater airtime galore, and relatively smooth for a woodie. 7. X-Flight - SFGAm. Another underrated coaster. Good forces in the back, and the wingrider sensation is pretty cool. 6. Manta - SWO. Pretzel loop. Enough said. 5. Batman: The Ride - SFGAm. From drop to brake run, Batman is amazingly intense. 4. Renegade - VF. Airtime and twistiness: two terrific elements for wooden coasters. 3. Raging Bull - SFGAm. Despite the trims and the rattle, the airtime and intensity make up for it. 2. Kraken - SWO. This ride is just simply tons of fun. 1. Goliath - SFGAm. This coaster pushes everything to the max. Intensity, airtime, hangtime, and the overall fun factor. Honorable mentions: Steel Venom, Dragon Challenge (Red), S:UF (SFGAm), California Screamin'.
  5. If I could put a flat ride in my backyard, I'd get a Zipper. Do I have to explain this one? If I could put a coaster in my backyard, I'd get any type of RMC. Even if it was a drop that goes straight into a brake run, it would be enough to satisfy me.
  6. Disney: Disney California Adventure Universal: Islands of Adventure Six Flags: Six Flags Great Adventure Cedar Fair: Cedar Point Cedar Fair (Non-CP): Kings Island Herschend: Dollywood SeaWorld: Busch Gardens Tampa Independent: Holiday World
  7. This news article calls Batman: The Ride at Six Flags Fiesta Texas the world's first 4D coaster. Sorry Fox 8, that title goes to X2. http://myfox8.com/2014/08/29/six-flags-announces-worlds-first-4d-roller-coaster-batman-the-ride-and-its-insane/
  8. ^ When I read that article, I found a link to a picture of some paint testing that they seemed to be doing on Mantis (picture is from CPfansite in July). I'm still betting on floorless trains (and possibly renaming to King James).
  9. I agree. I think that it is most likely going to be floorless trains on Mantis. I don't think it will be an Iron Horse of Mean Streak because they would have to have closed it already if they want it to be ready by Opening Day next year. It probably won't be a new coaster from scratch either because land clearing would've already started, and they probably would've been teasing us for the past month about it.
  10. ^ Dave Frazier said that VF would announce it's new attraction for 2015 between Labor Day and the start of Haunt, so I guess it's a possibility. Although, it's probably going to be an out-of-the-blue announcement like in the past (what I mean is, I'll probably learn about it randomly one of these days when I open my Facebook or Twitter feed).
  11. Not really a big Haunt fan, but as for the GP and Haunt fans, it looks like they will be satisfied. Skeleton Key actually looks pretty cool, but since you must buy Fright Lane passes, it probably won't be too popular. I don't remember if they operated the Dinos during Haunt last year or not, but I think it's a good use for that area.
  12. I was just on SFOG's Facebook page reading the comments of reactions to their new Sky Loop and Tilt-a-Whirl, and my gosh, there are absolutely no positive reactions. Everyone is just whining and complaining about it. Also, I actually got mad when I saw people complaining that they think SFOG is a neglected park, and I think that shows that some SFOG fans are just really ungrateful. I'd be ecstatic if my local park (Valleyfair) had some of SFOG's coasters. Besides, I don't think the Sky Loop looks that boring. It looks like it could have some good hangtime at the top.
  13. Both of them look like they'll be awesome rides, but if I had to choose one, I'd chose Twisted Colossus because it looks to have more airtime moments, it has lots of other fun and unique elements, and considering the layout of the coaster, you basically get a second ride.
  14. I think that these Super Loop rides going to parks like Great Adventure look like a lot of fun, and I'm glad they're getting them, but I'm not a fan of calling them roller coasters, since they really aren't. I understand that it's a marketing thing, and they do have coaster-like characteristics, but still... .
  15. Eh, I'm not into haunted stuff at parks, and I don't think that this is what La Ronde local enthusiasts wanted, but for what the park is, I guess it's better than nothing.
  16. I agree. These rides don't look like the best ever, but they still seem thrilling and fun, and hopefully I can ride them one of these days. These people should at least be glad that they're getting this and not some other lame attraction.
  17. ...you got up early this morning to find out about the 2015 Six Flags announcements.
  18. Never been on a SkyScreamer, but it sure does look like fun, and it ought to provide some great views. I agree that SkyScreamers will be probably be at every Six Flags park within the next few years.
  19. ^ I stand corrected. I guess I can see why Six Flags has always been going on the cheap for The Great Escape. However, if I'm a coaster enthusiast that lives in upstate New York, I, as well as other enthusiasts, would probably be willing to make the longer drive to Six Flags New England.
  20. Don't worry, you're not. I think that this looks like a great coaster. Lots of flipping and dropping should make for a fun-filled ride. I'm quite surprised that this is how it turned out after all these teasers. Doesn't look as good as Twisted Colossus or Wicked Cyclone, but still very thrilling, and should be a great addition to Fiesta Texas. Too bad some coaster enthusiasts will always find something to complain about. Yeah, it's going to have awful capacity, but it looks like fun, and that's really all I can ask of it. As for it being named Batman: The Ride, it's Six Flags. What did you expect?
  21. I find it strange how the Over Texas version of the ride advertises 360-degree spinning but not the St. Louis version. Maybe SFStL simply forgot to mention it in their announcement, but if it wasn't a mistake, then I guess that SFOT's version will be better by default.
  22. I'm not big on theming, but it's nice to see that Six Flags is putting in more themed attractions at it's parks. Not a fan of dark rides or the Justice League, but I'm sure the GP will eat this ride up.
  23. Another thing I'm happy about is that RMC is finally going outside the box with track color. I didn't expect the track colors to be blue and green, so that's a nice touch. Also, "Opening Spring 2015"... . It will be a miracle if they get this coaster opened during the Spring, especially considering how massive this project is.
