  1. I live in Minnesota and my home parks are Valleyfair and Nickelodeon Universe, however I rarely visit Nick Universe, so I'd consider Valleyfair to be my main home park.
  2. Haven't really been on any coasters with "great" tunnels, but I do think that Demon (SFGAm) has a cool tunnel because of the running lights. The tunnel is my favorite part of Demon. Kraken and Wild Thing have decent tunnels too.
  3. And then I said that that they should just burn down Excalibur and replace it with a full circuit steel coaster with inversions that is taller, steeper, longer, faster and more thrilling. While I do agree that VF should get rid of Excalibur for a new steel coaster, I would not complain at all if they RMC'd Excalibur because anything from RMC would blow everything else at Valleyfair off the map. It likely won't happen, but it could be awesome.
  4. Sorry, should have made myself more clear. I wouldn't consider Renegade, Steel Venom, or Wild Thing second rate coasters in terms of ride enjoyability, I'm just a bit disappointed that the park hasn't invested in a coaster that costs more than $10 million when all other Cedar Fair parks have (except Michigan's Adventure). As much as I like VF's coasters, if just a bit more money had been invested in the coasters, they could have made them a lot better. If Excalibur had an extra 500-800 feet of track with some interesting elements, I'd like it a lot more, but instead it has one of the most simplistic layouts out there. While I really like Wild Thing, the turnaround should have been built a little smaller and tighter to make it more interesting. Sorry if I sounded too negative here, but I guess I'm just getting tired of waiting for a new roller coaster (I'm sure everyone else probably is too).
  5. They'd better not. If Valleyfair received Flight Deck (or any SLC for that manner), I would probably discontinue my season pass. We already have several mediocre coasters here. If VF just once got a coaster that isn't second rate, I would be forever grateful.
  6. ^ Huh. I'd never heard about this guy before since VF hasn't been my home park for very long, but he does look like a unique character for sure. It would be cool if we see him on the midways sometime soon. Edit: Mr. Frazier unfortunately said on Twitter that the Colonel will not be returning to the park. Bummer.
  7. Definitely Zippers. They continually throw you in and out of your seat in the greatest way possible. It's too bad they can usually only be found at local fairs. If you're strictly talking favorite amusement park flats, probably S&S Screamin' Swings. They have a great mix of airtime and positive G's.
  8. I think that stand-up coasters as a whole might be the next rides types to get removed in masses. With Canada's Wonderland taking out Skyrider, it wouldn't surprise me if Shockwave at Kings Dominion goes on the chopping block soon. Now that we know that it's possible to turn B&M stand-ups into floorless coasters, that could be the new trend for those rides. I don't think that stand-up coasters will be going extinct anytime soon, they just probably won't be as common as they are now.
  9. Granted, but they now have tons of downtime. I wish I had an RMC in my backyard.
  10. ^ If you're talking about the games island shown below, then yes, I agree that removing that plus relocating Mad Mouse to the front of the park would be a good idea because the waterpark is landlocked as it is, and would need more room for further expansion unless they get rid of something else. Plus, Mad Mouse would fit perfectly over near Route 76 since that is the new hot spot for families.
  11. This would not be a bad thing if CNL sold off it's parks because, in recent years, they seem to have forgotten that they even exist. CNL just doesn't invest enough in new attractions at their parks, and that's why they can't compete with Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks. Parks like Darien Lake and Elitch Gardens could certainly benefit from an owner like Herschend. Hopefully that is what happens.
  12. The volleyball nets have been taken down, so I guess those courts might be next for being taken out.
  13. The only woodie in this category I've ridden is High Roller at VF, so I have no other choices. It's a fun ride that has it's moments, but it's trimmed to death and can be rough in some seats.
  14. Darn, that's my favorite ride there! Love Excalibur! Every been on a B&M coaster? My vote for coaster removal would be the Tooth Chipper (Time Warp) at Canada's Wonderland. So unique, too bad they can't make it much smoother. And it's neighbor, Flight Deck. I usually enjoy Vekoma SLCs, but something was wrong with this one. In the front seat no less! Why would they take out Sky Rider and leave these 2 torture devices in? Okay, Excalibur isn't really that bad, but I guess I'm just saying it since it's at my home park. I think Demon at Six Flags Great America should probably get removed because it's a pretty rough ride. I know it's a classic ride, but the classics can't last forever.
  15. Excalibur at Valleyfair. It's certainly a unique ride, but it doesn't really have anything else going for it. It has gotten tougher, and has an uncreative layout. I wish it would get torn down so the park can make way for an awesome new coaster.
  16. If you ask me, I think he slightly resembles Robin Williams (sorry if that sounds stupid). Maybe he is just an ordinary ride op there that looks like him. Robin Williams died I know that. I just said the ride op looks like him.
  17. ...when considering a move, your first priority is making sure that you live near a decent amusement park.
  18. If you ask me, I think he slightly resembles Robin Williams (sorry if that sounds stupid). Maybe he is just an ordinary ride op there that looks like him.
  19. ...your stereotypical Six Flags rides (Batman: The Ride, Goliath, Boomerang, etc.) However, they sold Valleyfair back to Cedar Fair after a year because Six Flags wanted to turn it's focus to making Cedar Point a Six Flags park. They were successful, which resulted in...
  20. Granted, but you now go to school seven days a week. I wish it was still summer.
  21. ^ If these markings are there for the purposes of planning for 2016, then that's great news. If they are widespread markings, hopefully that is indicative of something big like a coaster, but I'm not getting my hopes too high yet.
  22. I've never truly been "stuck" on a coaster, but one time I did get E-stopped on Manta's MCBR for about a minute. I don't know why though. Maybe to prevent a block violation? Getting E-stopped there made the rest of the ride a snooze fest.
  23. ...Soak City waterpark. The aliens then tried to destroy the rest of the park, but they were stopped by...
  24. I highly doubt Rougarou will be open by the end of the season because there has been no mention of the new trains arriving at the park. Plus, I imagine installing the retractable station floor will take a while to get done, and then they have to test the ride for a few weeks before it opens.
  25. ^ If the area of cones that you mention borders the park and stays there for a while, maybe it could mean that they're tearing it up. Otherwise, they might just be reserving parking spaces for something else.
