  1. You know that such thing DOES exist? People climb the hill by foot a first time, go into a funicular cabin, make it going down with their weight, that makes the empty train climb the "lift"on the other side, then they climb the hill a second time to get into the coaster.
  2. I'm really dying to learn more about the Yeti though, and see its moves in action. What he was exactly supposed to do, and how so? I read things like it was more powerful than an aircraft reactor at some point, or something along those lines...! By the way, the bird on a stick is the best animatronic Disney has ever produced. Don't know why people are talking about the Yeti that much LOL.
  3. While reading that, I though they were talking about rebuilding only one track, but neither the left or the right one... Instead, utilise the large double-structure as a giant base to make a gigantic structure with one track in the middle. See my drawing : I need sleep, I guess.
  4. There are Iron Rattler, Medusa Steel Coaster... What do you think of Aluminium Colossus?
  5. 102 passengers make 204ft for me, if you see what I mean.
  6. Is there anyone who have pictures of the "revamped" Viper, or the GCI steel structure lift you were talking about a few pages back? None of the links/pictures are working... Thanks! I have a feeling this won't be neither a Vekoma or a knock-off tilt coaster. My 2 cents are actually on Premier Rides, which is also providing a Full Throttle clone for this park.
  7. Wow, the speed is just about PERFECT. Nice and aerial in the first part ; totally darn fast in the second. It's an awesome feature indeed, but you have to give Caesar his due: Gerstlauer came with it first on Smiler.
  8. Why not after all, but even more surprising IMO, this year ABC Rides, who usually do kiddy/mid-sized rides, will build a 100m (328ft) height drop tower! More infos. The world is upside-down this year. B&M going kiddy, and ABC going crazy.
  9. What about that enhanced simulation we talked about after the NL2 POV came out, though? Any news?
  10. Cedar Point does have a booster kind of ride. I believe there's an extra fee? One flat ride I really fell in love with, is the Gerstlauer Sky Fly. It doesn't scream "carnival" all over its face, and really suitable for parks. But once again, the capacity is pretty low.
  11. Very true. Werner Stengel said so about those shoulder things on Olympia Looping. On an interview he said "and we had to add those to keep riders in a proper position". He didn't mention extra safety or anything. So I think this is the same deal with vest harnesses. Thanks for the pics Tetsune/Happy Valley staff. I have to admit the train looks rather bare and "mechanical"... The Vekoma version is prettier. But the curves are sexy!
  12. Sorry for the double-post, but here it is! Yùyán, the small Gerstlauer launch coaster, is finally released. DOWNLOAD LINK Enjoy.
  13. ^ When did TDS do that? Never heard of it. But sadly for DLP I don't expect anything from this rehab. All they did is redo the ride process, changing the loop and rebuild (all?) the scenery. That is already a lot of work I guess, but this ride would have needed a complete retracking and a changement of its trains. Otherwise, no matter what you do, it's still a pain to ride. Plus, I would have loved some extra bonuses, like what they did for the Californian BTMR.
  14. I honestly don't know for sure, but I once saw that Mack has a kind of test seat that can do loops on itself. Plus the test round track they built for Arthur. And I remember a video where Vekoma/WDI tested the swinging wagons from the Seven Drawfs on a trailer attached to a van that speeded through a parking lot.
  15. Me. I talked about that with Walter Bolliger (brag brag), and he is happy with the vest thing. Yeah that, but really, this isn't the way B&M works, testing stuffs IRL they're not entierely sure about. I mean, they test their seat designs before the first ride with them open to the public. Just like I still think wing-riders are not the first step toward a B&M 4D coaster, but a product on its own.
  16. By the way, despite what I believed looking at the pictures, the coaster part wasn't designed by Zierer. Instead, for those who're willing to know, here are those involved here: Answer given to me by The Matcom Group, in charge of the construction part. Thanks to them for the complete reply!
  17. The ride is reopened, here is the official (ew...) pictures: Source And some better pictures from Mehdi.B on Ameworld.net. Mehdi rode the ride 7 times, and tell us what he thought:
  18. According to Irvine Ondrey Engineering, the designer of the ride is Joe Draves, from Ride Centerline (same company as Schilke). Irvine's Facebook page
  19. Aww I'm glad because that printscreen of the video was took by me.
  20. And now without the cranes (from webcam) : EDIT :
  21. Anne, from Irvine Ondrey Engineering (those in charge of the electrical aspect of Lightning Run), tested the ride and here is her review :
  22. Another video showing the dwarfs animatronics! They look awesome, more dynamic and versatile than the traditional ones (though I hope the "all mechanic"-kind will still exist in the future). Their skin might look awfully bright, but once in the ride with all the lighting settled right (ie. at 0:38), it's not noticable and blend almost perfectly. Great job Disney!
  23. Rode it again yesterday, still a beast! Here are some pics took by several guys over CoastersWorld.fr (I was part of the meeting): The station still looks bare, but don't worry, it's unfinished. Steep lift. Not-so-steep drop, but actually powerful in the back! The first element is weird yet surprising and fun, I like it. Airtime! Awkward transition. what. Curved steel. First S-turn. Nigloland has a really nice setting, look at those hills in the background. The grass will make its apparition soon. I love how there's no supports on top of the camel-back. Nice view. I smell funky laterals g's. Under the skirt. Shhhh. *blush* Ooooow. Mack didn't wait Alpina to make sexy curves. This is Gold Mine Train. Choo choo! ...yet they also made some awful ones in the past. Here is Spatiale Expérience lights on. That was nice to have a ride with lights! At Nigloland, you can really see the evolution of Mack. Did you know that Schlitt'Express was their first ride where the rails were cut using a computer? It's also the first to feature magnetic brakes. Air Meeting (Gerstlauer SkyFly) is a lot of fun! Can we call that an hairtime? More pictures here. Thanks to "Boub08", "Röyksopp" and "Lujdété" for it. And many thanks to CoastersWorld.fr and Mr.Gélis for this awesome meeting!
