Lol at the unsymmetrical rails, lol at "Spiral" for the zero-g stall, and LOL at the wheel assembly! -
Haha that's exactly what I thought when I saw the picture! That's interesting. That means it's totally different than your usual drop tower. It makes me want to ride it even more. About the skydive, I don't know if it would be comparable though. What impressed me most during my jump was the very strong wind and the long duration (40 sec.) of free-fall. I doubt you can have any of those on a 4 seconds drop, yet it still can be amazing, I do not say otherwise!

I looked on Google Earth, and it seems the construction cam is pointing toward the lift and drop. We should get something more or less like that: -

^ Shambhala has to be the smoothest coaster I've ever been on. I was blown away by the lack of any kind of vibrations, never seen that before nor after. So I guess it's also a matter of maintenance. -

This ride is officially gay-friendly! Look at the dude in the bottom right hand corner: (Nice catch, Disney Imagineer) -

Quoted from the B&M seat patent: It's a long read, but basically they say that a coaster is more of an individual experience, and thus making the row splitted is going further in that direction, opposed to the four-accross rows. BTW, B&M patents are always fun to read. Check this quote I found in the Floorless coaster patent : -

Yet the first airtime hill got a suspicious straight section ( ), so I think they'll definitely put a trim here. -

^ Yep, I pointed it up earlier in this thread. As you said, only Oziris has such a curved lowered spine section, but it's nowhere as long as those. Actually no, that kind of section also exist on dueling stations: But it doesn't quite look like one, does it? I don't really know... -

More progress on the invert coaster. If the highly banked turns are a problem on the Volare, they sure won't be here. At least, the Puss in Boots costume is quite pretty. (Dejiki.com) -
The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
KingRCT3 replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think this ride concept, provided by Stanley J. Checketts (co-founder of S&S), definitely belongs to this thread, as it would totally put the horrific to shame! How so? First, step into this ball... Here's the ride all in once. Your ball is the tiny n°20! And then... KABOOM! You're launched straight up in the air! With nothing, no rails, no cables, no towers! Finally, you fall back into "nothing but a net"! Isn't that totally crazy?! Would you dare riding it?? I'm not quite sure how feasible it is (what about the wind?), but considering what S&S have done in the past... Remember the Sonic Boom? That drop tower where you enter a tube that slows you down by the air pressure. Read the full patent to see more details about that... is that a "ride" anymore? -

Actually, I read a B&M recap for 2015 on another website, and I think by green they mean the plain teal one. And they call teal the one with the yellow bottom. -

I'm starting to think these teal track portions are going to go to Efteling instead of Carowinds... I *believe* I read the Dive Machine out there is going to have a dark-ride portion. And it's a small Dive Machine, so the track does match. As for Carowinds, it seems like green track portions has been spotted. -

So do every B&M I checked on RCDB... Only Oziris keep the lowered (well, raised) spine on its pre-lift, but it's barely a turn. -

Something is interesting about the track pieces... They have a lowered spine like for brakes segments, yet they are curved... ? (Screamscape) Do you know if such configuration already exists somewhere? -

That is kinda similar to some moves of the layout I digged a few pages ago: http://mangos.com/skyplex/pictures.php I agree you can find some interesting tricks to do. Just look at the very top, I think I spot an inversion. -

And I still have in mind that employee that was literally jaw dropping when she heard the plans the park has. I doubt a tame family style inverted coaster does that effect! By the way, was she a coaster enthusiast, or more a "general public" kind of person? Because, even a very high quality B&M doesn't do that effect either, or at least only on enthusiasts who know what's so special about it. Nah, I think HW's addition is going to be mind blowing for anyone at the first glance, like über long, über fast or has awesome features. -

I have a feeling people are going to be pleasantly surprised when the actual layout is announced! So you confim the layout posted here is not the real one? Is this somewhat close however? -
Flyers don't have them Winged coasters don't have them Leviathan doesn't have them Wow, I actually never realized "that much" B&M don't have them. Thanks for pointing that out. So to stand corrected: This coaster is the only B&M inverted coaster designed without wheel covers. And by saying designed without, it excludes the Batmans and even Oziris that run at least an entire season with one nude train.
-
No, those are brake fins like those on Krake. Never understood why those were vertical when B&M always uses horizontal magnets.

I know the park sells coaster wheels in various shops, so those are likely for sale as well. If I remember correctly, a wheel cost around 60€. By the way, here's my Sky Scream offride video I made on June 27th : This ride is pretty darn intense! Did you noticed that on Premier's trains the seat parts were just hold with scratchs on the train structure? Looks like it won't last long, but that means seats are easy to remplace as well.
