That's the clearance envelope. The coaster is not themed after Dumbo! -
People love Soarin', but maybe because it's unique. Now Disney is opening another one under the name of Avatar, and Universal will have their own version with Fallon, all three in the same area that is Orlando... Most of the GP won't notice, and if the storylines will be different enough, I won't mind either, but you gotta admit the effect of surprise will be less and less there.

I think the noise is just a silly argument, the real deal is that it helps refill the batteries. Otherwise I don't know how they could deal with 100% electric vehicle without having an electrified rail all along? I don't know, how does that work in Hong Kong? -

^ He said 70% of the vehicles are hybrids so far, so not all of them yet. There are seven people working on it, and with 85 vehicles, it's a lot to do! ^^ They are re-building the old one nearly from scratch. They kept a smaller combustion engine to keep the typical noise, but also to recharge the batteries. -

^ Nope, no overlay. I won't mind for IASW, but I kinda think it doesn't suit Phantom Manor like it does on Haunted Mansion. I'll believe this when I actually see it for real. -

Re: Anaconda RMC'ed. You're welcome. (yeah, that unnoficial layout was made by me. I written down that it was fan-made, but many people believed it. As for the pirate scenery, that great news! I don't really see the connection between pirates and Inverted coaster, but we'll see, maybe they have something in mind. Anyway, it's far better that what is it currently, so I'll take that! -

If the underwater scene of POTC is as well lit as the one in I Corsari (Gardaland), it's going to be amazing! See at 6:30: One of the only dark-ride sequence that made me goes WOW out loud (just like the dude in the video ). -

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
KingRCT3 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wait - what would be a scary coaster for you then? Even I would feel at least a bit nervous before my first ride on Kingda Ka, and I've already been skydiving. And TTD is actually legit too because of the lap-bar. Maybe even scarier than Ka. I don't know, I once got pretty blank after a spin on a Matterhorn ride, I was feeling very nauseous for some minutes... Same on this sneaky flat-ride at Europa Park: It looks gentle, but man, I was about to throw up during the entire ride. Coasters however don't make me feel nauseous. Except that day, after three consecutive rides on Altair during an ERT. x30... -
You Might Be A Coaster Nerd If....

...you find HULK (and Doctor Doom's Fearfall) on a Playmobil box! And you freak out because Playmobil started to make funfair rides ('til the day they make coasters....): A Break Dance! A Wave Swinger! This Ferris Wheel is ugly, though... The gondolas are too big in comparison to the wheel size. -

^ Here is the Halloween version of his coaster (with a slightly modified layout): By the way, his coaster can hold up multiple vehicles in automatic mode, has a cool control panel, can manage block system, has friction wheels and pneumatic brakes, a vertical lift/elevator, is completely demountable and transportable... It's frankly impressive! The control panel! Just like a B&M (well, close enough): The process: Sensors: Friction wheel: Friction brake: More pics and videos on Guigui Rides Facebook page. -
Announcing "Skyline Attractions"

Pfff, I'd want that for the Stratosphere Tower! Please Skyline Attractions. (Animation by me. Basically a single Sky Swat with a more dynamic and random routine.) -

Oh hey, that's me! You saw me broke that thing? The cable went unplugged on my first ride (hey, I was testing head tracking), so the screen in my Occulus became pitch black... The woman kindly offered me a second ride right off the bat. I know Andreas Andersen (CEO of Liseberg) was here, too. -

And already a first POV! Note that the lift will speed up once the coaster will be open. -
That's something I always think about when I see these older coasters using this cable system. I think it works like a detachable chairlift. In this case, the train has a grip underneath that is constitued of two parts: a fixed jaw and another one on a spring. So naturally, the grip is closed thanks to the spring resilience. At the beginning of the lift, you can see a metal plate on the track. The train will run over it, and thanks to a system of cams and levers, will open the grip. In the meantime, the cable will slide into it, the metal plate comes to an end and the grip is closed. Same process in reverse at the top.
