Pégase (the family Gerstlauer) has already been ordered by the park, so we don't really know why the survey... (internal source) I think it was the best choice anyway. A B&M flying would be awesome, but Oziris kinda already play in that field, being smooth and aerial. -

Wow yes, -2.3g is a lot! Then again, I've already experienced -3.5g on a Capriolo and it wasn't painful at all. Intense for sure, but not painful, thanks to a comfy restraint and that peak being progressive (no jerk). But BlueFire's heartline is quite sudden... -

The number one reason for me, is that spinning cars would ruin a potentially good layout. -
Drifting Coaster
KingRCT3 replied to gerstlaueringvar's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The fact is, the vehicle as Reverchon designed it, is unable to do banked turns and all other kind of stuffs. It can only navigate through 2D curves at a time. -
Drifting Coaster
KingRCT3 replied to gerstlaueringvar's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's called a Swinging Coaster by Reverchon (Drifting Coaster might be the name the german showman is calling his). This one will go to the German circuit, and Reverchon is hoping to sold more models, even for parks. ^ That video was shot more than a year ago, when they were testing their prototype cars on a standard spinning wild-mouse coaster. On the video posted by gerstlaueringvar, this is the layout made especially for this kind of car (funfair version): -

I don't think this is an inverted top-hat, but rather a... outward banked banana-roll. Funny enough, I made this element on a NL coaster some times ago, and here it'll help you to see what I mean: Now the Walbi version isn't as rounded as that, and the banking isn't 90°, but rather 60° I'd say. This pic shows that the entrance and exit of the element are parallel: ... and this one confirm there is no roll that would makes it an inverted top-hat (knowing the entrane and exit are parallel makes us know we're looking at the track like from a top down view): (Pictures from Themepark.nl) And now remember this pic (that I rotated 90° so it's almost like in the pictures above): It can easily be the track section at the top of the figure. -

Browsing the web, I found pictures of the SFX's tilt piece... and OH MY, this is huge! For the reminder, it's the white piece in the background, far right: And here it is for real... Factory mockup I guess. (Picture from DynamicAttractions.com) See it in motion at 1:07 into this video: -

I think it'll be a winged coaster (Skyrush) and not a true wing coaster (Frius Baco, B&M's) because the catwalks aren't that large. But just for your information, Mack did consider (and hopefully still do) building a 4th dimension coaster. -

Catwalks on both sides... If Mack follows the same logic as Intamin. Winged/wing-rider trains? I305, one catwalk, normal trains (DropZone99) Skyrush, two catwalks, winged trains (Patrick McGarvey) Storm, one catwalk, normal trains (Parkstrip.fr) WH 2016, two catwalks... winged trains? The first drop is actually 150ft (45m) high and inclined at 133°, words from Michael Kitchen, President of US Thrill Rides. That's make for another world record. -

I count 8. Here is the layout as I saw it, with inversions in bold. - Indoor drop. - Vertical launch - End of the launch - Outside banked turn - Heartline roll - ~130° drop - Dive loop - First MCBR - Twisted drop - Overbanked turn - Zero-g roll - Outward top-hat - Dive-loop - Second MCBR - +90 Drop - Inside top-hat - Outward top-hat - Dive loop - MCBR - Twisted drop - Pop of air - Overbank - Pop of air - Overbank turn - Large corkscrew I'm still amazed about the variety of elements that the layout offers. I also count approx. 12 airtime moments. -

I signed despite living in France. I don't think there is any problem. Orlando tourists come from all over the world in the end. I really hope this is going to be build, I'm in love with the layout! Even if I liked the spiral lift more (to have the time to see what is coming), the LSM launch will be terrifying! Though I think they went for the vertical launch for cost reasons, and not capacity. I mean, you certainly can find a way to have multiple cars on a lift... But a straight track is cheaper than a big spiral and a very, very long chain lift. -

This year topic was: "What advice would you give a discouraged student who feels like giving up?". -
