  1. ^ But but... Kölmarden is in Sweden.. Anyways, I'm happy that the King Turn is taking shape.
  2. They can hold 230 people each (there are two of them)! If I'm not mistaking that's the biggest cable-car of them all. Oh, and from the pictures I think I see some glass panels for the floor, the same as the Vanoise Express (a french ropeway). Sadly we can't walk on them, but it does provide great views.
  3. Yep, doors open to fill up the splash zone quickly (the water level being lower than the surrounding lake), and then pumps pump the water out once the boat is away.
  4. Remember way back in the days before the official annoucement, when all we had was the ride logo - everyone was thinking about a coaster that would dive in a pit of fire. It can still happen.
  5. From that video, we can easily tell this is going to be a Mack Rides coaster. (The lap-bar shape, the drilled wheels and the ties shape that is flattened on both ends)
  6. Waw, the lateral g in that first turn are going to be insane. RMC does really push the envelope of ride design. No, but really, it's an awesome sight. Can't wait for more track to go up!
  7. I just stumbled upon this documentary about hydraulics, and while I haven't watched it entirely, I did have my eyes wide open from 38:52 where it starts to show some amazing hydraulic mechanisms at Universal Studios Hollywood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74VEL22U_0o I love Spiderman and well-done screen rides, but man, you will never be able to beat practical effects!
  8. American ropeways are already scary on their own anyways. When you're accustomed to the european look of the towers supporting the cable, with their tons of safety and maintenance devices, and when you compare it to those rickety toothpicks, you shudders already. Basically what you guys feel about knock-of coasters, I also feel it about (most of) the american chairlifts. As for Monster, the first "inversion" is so weird but I think it's going to be awesome!
  9. Yup, and Lagotronics even turned one into an interactive ride. I mean, more interactive than the Heege catalogue version:
  10. It gives me some RCT memory right there!
  11. The sky ride will stay and will go through the loops! (like Junker and the bridge) By the way, have you seen that turn before the last corkscrew?!
  12. Both are 3 DOF motion bases from Intamin/Ride Trade, is that it? Anyways, even if they share the same bases, the two rides are just so much differents, just look at the building and screen. Plus, BTFF have lap-bars and get lifted 3 meters above the ground, while the Minions seems to only have an handle bar and is on floor level. Basically, it's like comapring a mine train to Magnum XL200.
  13. Indeed, but Gerstlauer also build its newer Eurofighters with that new track. Like Serpent and Kráter, both clones, are actually different than their older borther(s) because of the track.
  14. Imagine if the circuit is actually going into the opposite direction and it's actually a launch.
  15. The trains are different ; an Eurofighter train is one articuled block of two rows, whereas an Infinity train has from two rows up to eight rows. Curretly though, the longer Infinity trains are only four rows long, on The Smiler and Karnan. Yet Smiler did tried the eight rows train at some point...
  16. The water is working, and it looks very very nice, but the fire isn't at the moment.
  17. Yes, there will be a splash effect and a 4m burst flame at the end.
  18. Hi there WeldingEngineer! Can you give us a quick introduction about who you are and what is your work regarding this project, please? This sounds really interesting, I think we're all glad to count you on these boards! And thanks for the pictures, my oh my this should have a NFSW tag! Naked trains sexyness!
  19. Haha yeah that was also my first thought. But th truth is, it isn't Mack who copied Intamin ; it's the Gelis borthers (owners of Nigloland) who asked them to do that exact layout, which was admitely heavily inspired by Piraten (they drew their layout on top of the one of Piraten). Mack is only doing whatever the customer wants.
  20. ^^ It looked like that: (picure from TPR)
  21. Every straight piece of track is slighlty distorded, and that is amplificated if you look at it dead straight, furthermore with a big zoom, which was the case of the picture that caused the trouble.
  22. Yeah, isn't Golden Horse the Rolls of the Chinese manufacturers? I think Shibaolai is worst than Golden Horse.
