The King Lives
Token Yankee Guy replied to Andrew643's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thank God, now I can ride it in a couple of weeks. -
actually, you aren't missing much with the one train operation on Thunderbolt. They've always been running one train since the park was Riverside. Now I'm not positive on the reason why, but someone said that the reason why they now only use one train on it is because back during the Riverside Days when they did have two trains on it, the ride-op wasn't paying attention and let one of the trains bump the one in the station. Plus, those brakes are terrible, it takes forever for the trains to slow down since they're friction brakes. I think the train stops right on the transfer track before the station, compared to Cyclone which has the other brakes which stops it pretty quickly but violently. Aside from that, good to hear you had a good trip, shame I couldn't have met up with ya at SFNE, but i was in Wisconsin at the time.

Favorite pre- 1980's coaster
Token Yankee Guy replied to CP_fan_boy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
ummm, I enjoy Thunderbolt at SFNE. It was built in 1941 and it's still not as violent as compared to Cyclone. I really wish the former wooden coasters at Riverside weren't torn down prior to 1941. -

Do You Sleep with a Teddy Bear?
Token Yankee Guy replied to PhishyBrewer's topic in Random, Random, Random
No, I don't sleep with a teddy, but I do have one right next to my bed on my nightstand. Plus I currently got the fat cat on my bed. Craiggers "he's 13lbs of fur" K. -

oh jeeze, it was a few years ago I found themeparkreview.com. I think in either late 2002 - early 2003 I was surfing the web and I was finding coaster sites and this one poped up. I saw that they had updates of SFNE so I read on and downloaded their videos and thought it was really cool. Then I got to talking to Robb a bit and then started talking to Elissa intially by some mistake. (Yes Elissa, I never wanted to talk to you in the first place ) Then I joined WC and when the TPR boards opened I became their 50th member.

^ the good thing is you are feeling better. I myself never had a problem with my tonsils and I don't think I will. Plus I've never been in any kind of surgery and the only time I've been to the hospital was when I went to the ER to get stiches above my left eye.
