  1. The Intamin ones are a lot of fun and really efficient at delivering that thrill. But the S&S towers are better overall. The bounce adds a significant amount more to the ride experience.
  2. Gatekeeper is a just ok ride. The thing is if that one didn't fully deliver then I think the concept is not very strong. Maybe B&M will make a really great one in the future but I have serious doubts.
  3. Drachen Fire, The Chiller (specifically the Batman side) and Big Bad Wolf are all rides that I wish were still around. It's really too bad that they're gone.
  4. El Toro. It's always steeper than I remember and I feel like I'm going over that drop for such a long time.
  5. Best coaster in California: Riddler Worst coaster in California: Green Lantern: First Flight
  6. Inverted. It just seems to offer the most intense and wild ride.
  7. Tower of Terror is fantastic but Scream at Six Flags New England is the best straight ahead drop tower because you get shot and dropped in the same ride.
  8. Intimidator 305 might be the most intense coaster I've been on but Harry Potter is also one of the most intense rides out there.
  9. While waiting in the station for Manta (Orlando Manta) a man held up the train because he took his pants off, adjusted his underwear, put his pants back on and then rode the ride.
  10. One of the strangest (although I'm not sure if it's the strangest) is Dahlonega Mine Train at Six Flags Over Georgia. Portions of the ride were clearly meant to react with stuff and other parts enclosed. But Over Georgia didn't do that so it comes off very weird.
  11. Raptor is the best ride there. Although, strangely last time I was there Mantis was running better than it.
  12. Worst B&M: Patriot Worst Intamin: tie between Green Lantern: First Flight and Skyrush Worst GCI: Wildcat
  13. Tough call between Alpengeist and Raptor but I'll go with Alpengeist for being a little more original. Raptor's a very close second though.
  14. Most coasters are better at night but Boulder Dash gives the best night ride. And not just among coasters but any ride. You can't see a thing while you're whipping around out there.
  15. Magic Mountain has a lot of very good rides but Riddler is still top dog there. It's just great.
  16. I've loved coasters as far back as I can remember but I didn't become a full blown enthusiast until I was about 15 or 16.
  17. The S&S air launches pack a lot of punch. But I'm going to go with Kingda Ka. Not only is it pretty intense but it also just seems to last for a long time.
  18. I forgot about the one at Knoebles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUU8MIwVUSY The Knoebels train at night is really great. My pick would probably be the one at Busch Williamsburg. It's full sized, you'll get some nice views and it's functional (meaning that it's not just for show and actually useful in getting from place to place in the park).
  19. A Mondial top scan with a real aggressive program is hard to beat.
  20. There are a lot of bad coasters out there and varying circumstances under which you ride them so this is very difficult to nail down. But some of my nominees would be Great American Scream Machine at Six Flags Over Georgia and Green Lantern: First Flight at Magic Mountain.
  21. I'm always reminded of Big Boy by Sparks when I visit Magic Mountain. The band played that song at that park in the movie Rollercoaster.
  22. Don't care for SLC's much but Mind Eraser at Darien Lake gave me the best ride I've ever had on one in the rain. So now I only do SLC's in the rain.
  23. Big Bad Wolf at Busch Williamsburg. It's unforgivable that they took that ride out.
