  1. ^That's what everyone said, but honestly I thought it was GREAT! Just gives it more room to grow for next time. (Though American Eagle was simply the best wooden coaster I've ridden yet, so Viper's got a long ways to go to top that.)
  2. In keeping with Iron Wolf jokes... L-Mayo! Had no idea you got a full-swing shot of Revolution; I totally forgot to set my long-shutter beyond 2 seconds. Great tilts on some of the pics, too!
  3. Well, real credit should go to Cameron for that... right after we rode it in the back, he showed me his latest Facebook update: "Cameron Silver just did Batman in the rear." Now that's comedy. And OMG, I wish I'd seen Curly-Mustache Guy again even more than Sexy. (The inside jokes will hopefully become a little clearer once my TR is posted!) Dan "I named him 'Doctor Reginald Wexley'" Smith
  4. Dear GOD, that was the most fun I've ever had at any park. Cameron, Jo and Nathan, thank you SO much for today. 12 credits + finding Mr. Six + Buccaneer Battle + finding Sexy + Whizzer time + doing Batman in the rear = amazing.
  5. Just about to go for the first time; will report later tonight (maybe)!
  6. Coming to you live from the LaQuinta just across from Six Flags Great America! First time I've tested my laptop on the road and it's pretty awesome to have Net access. (But even more awesome to have Cameron let me play coin-op games at the factory for 2 hours and get us some kickass deep-dish Chicago pizza!)
  7. Drop towers (first Intamin one in two days!), SCAD towers and Skycoasters: these are a few of my favourite things which would probably kill my nerves before I get a chance to experience them.
  8. Well, even though I feel really bad about your "experience", that caption made me LOL IRL. (Damn acronyms.)

    Tall people??

I'm 6'2" and the only thing I can recall significant was that I could touch the top of the tunnels in Space Mountain (not the supports) if I put my hands up... not something I'd try again, mind you, but interesting to know it can be done! He really shouldn't worry about something like losing an extremity though; as you said, they're built to exact specs.
  10. If I had a nickel... Oh, and the Ron Toomer comment actually made me LOL.
  11. As funny as it was with the Notre Dame thread, since I actually AM a Michigan fan I'd imagine this won't end well for us. Anyway, 7-5 doesn't exactly sound like a good record for a Big Ten team, but sadly is probably a good prediction. Also, when in the hell did the Rose Bowl lose to "BCS National Championship Presented By Random Sponsor" for being the top bowl game in the league? EDIT: Also also wik, I just remembered a good joke I heard about Ohio State...
  12. Words to live by. I uploaded to Photobucket for the longest time until the dreaded red X's began to show where my pictures once stood. It really is better to upload directly to TPR, but just remember that the photos will show up in reverse order when uploading but go back when actually posting!
  13. Will do. As far as I know I'm getting 4 teeth removed, but there's already some problems that might have to get fixed. My braces (off in December '07) have left a nice bulging vein on the inside right of my lips; during the consultation the doc said that if I did so much as bite down on it then it'd take a lot of work to make it stop bleeding. As such, he said he might have to do some surgery on THAT before he even starts taking the teeth out. Dammit.
  14. Looks like Natalie and I are in the same boat this month... my surgery's scheduled for the 9th, two days after I get back from SFGAm. (At least there's something to take my mind off of it, right?)
  15. ^^We'll likely be at the entrance around 9:30 so we could get a few rides in before the hour's up. ^"More red lights, more fun"?
  16. And the problem is...? By the way, Cameron told me about the ticket, and thank you SO much. kumba830, would you be meeting us right in the morning or a little later on?
  17. +100 points for having Charlie Daniels Band accompany you on Iron Horse.
  18. I'm either disappointed or glad that wasn't open when I visited in April; I haven't decided yet.
  19. Really good to hear from you again, Soren, and congrats on the job!
  20. OK, this is one trippy flashback to last April with all the museums/Navy 3.14, and a flash-forward to next Monday with SFGAm. Stop conflicting my logic, dammit! 1. Why did I never see that amazing pinball machine at MOSI?! 2. That McD's description was pretty accurate... I bought ice cream at Ben & Jerry's and used it for futuristic seating, followed by new-tomorrow ice cream consumption, followed by post-modern waste disposal. 3. Meant to ride Klockwerks during Behemoth Bash (same ride as Ricochet) but never got the chance. All I remember was watching it cycle through while trying to explain what a poutine was to 50 American visitors! 4. So is American Eagle one of those Mobius Strip racers with the continuous track? 5. Train love is much appreciated. 6. Miracle Whip sponsors Iron Wolf? What the crap? 7. Did the park go all out on their signs one year? They all look brand-new and awesome! 8. Not the same thing, but they do have "Jellystone Parks" with Yogi as the mascot up here in Ontario... rather unthemed campgrounds though they are. 9. Damn you. You made pop come out of nose at the Pocket Rocket comment. Ow. 10. I finally just realized that SFGAm has two Batman coasters. Weird. 11. I've already asked/said way too much without being declared legally insane. Awesome, awesome TR.
  21. ^That sounds so unbelievably painful, it's going in my sig.
  22. *1week1week1week* Can it be said that Viper on a bad day is still better than Mean Streak on any day? My wood coaster credits are quite limited.
  23. The next seven days might be the slowest of the year... can't wait to see you guys at the park! It's way far off as far as weather prediction is concerned, but so far it looks to be sunny in the mid-80's. Heck, even if it storms like mad, it'll still be one helluva time. Dan "Wants to see just how great this Flashpass dealie is" Smith
  24. Have you actually seen the movie? Personally, I didn't find any racism in it. I thought it was very well done and really doesn't deserve all the criticism it continues to get. James Baskett definitely earned that honorary Oscar. Also, as Eric said once, Beverly is "liquid failure in a cup".
  25. The RCITR DVD's are a perfect mix of amazing coaster footage with an occasional TPR antic thrown in or heard here or there. I have not one shred of a doubt that any purchases made from TPR are likely the best decisions one will have made in a long time. Keep on keepin' on, Alveys!
