  1. You people are crazy. And we love you for it.
  2. So I've had a season pass every year since 2005, minus this year due to my leaving in two weeks for university in Florida. (Hell of a commute.) It just occurred to me; I haven't even been yet this year! Usually I don't even let June go by without paying a visit to CP, but I guess end-of-high-school rushing and SFGAm amazement earlier this month just pushed it back. Oh well. I'm going with a few of my friends, including one who a) has never been south of Toledo, and b) has not once in his forsaken life ridden a roller coaster. I keep telling him not to think he HAS to ride stuff just for saying he did so, but he's so damned excited he doesn't care.
  3. According to my profile, today marks my 1600th day as a member of TPR. So... yeah. Gimme a cookie or something. Also in the year 1600 Shakespeare, or as I like to call him by his stage name "Big Willie Shakes", first saw A Midsummer Night's Dream performed as well as penning The Merchant of Venice. [/themoreyouknow]
  4. ^Oh, I had the gauze, too. For the first 24 all I could taste was that and precious, precious blood.
  5. From the looks of the Midwest trip, they already have one of those called "Hotel Breakers".
  6. Natalie, your above post (three up? Stupid carats) sounds exactly like my first-week experience, minus the fact that I was negligent in my icepack-wielding skills and swelled like a chipmunk thusly. I was totally not even worried about the wisdom teeth aside from the food thing; heck, my biggest fear leading up to the surgery was that I wouldn't get my SFGAm trip report finished before my drugs knocked me out for the next few days after!
  7. See, that actually happened to me, too... felt loopy as all hell, fell asleep fine, but it was STAYING asleep that was the real challenge. On the plus side it was almost exact to the clock when I had to take more of said drug about 4-5 hours later...
  8. 1. "Exclusive photos on the set of Twilight: Actually Worth Watching Now..." 2. 3. See what I said about that waiting-for-the-person-to-pick-up-the-meds thing? Sucks, doesn't it? 4. My Percocet worked wonders well into the worrying 48-72 hour range, so if ya got good drugs, relax. 5. Those blacknets aren't of the doctor's... DO NOT GET INTO THE VAN
  9. So in one park we'll have four of these things flying? (Don't forget the Magic Carpets of Aladdin in Adventureland.) I vote for a DL-Indy clone.
  10. I'm proud to say that I wasn't quite as incoherent on my first day while the drugs were wearing off as Natalie. Yeah, the blood thing really sucks... you'll learn to get used to the taste of delicious and refreshing gauze for the first 24 hours. Are you eating yet? How's the anesthetic treating you? Bit of an aside, not meant to scare the ones who have yet to go under... IM'ed my friend who I thought was still in Florida on Monday, but apparently was already home AND got his wisdom teeth out. (I love staying in the loop.) He had a lot worse first 24 than I did; the anesthetic made him vomit up the pain pills AND open his wounds further. He called it the "triple play" of bad reactions but went on to say his Percocet was like the game-winning homer. EDIT: ^^ Good lord, man, stop overcooking your Colonial hardtack!
  11. All right, there's absolutely no chance I'd be able to attend this event, but I'm posting here to vouch for the Flash Pass... buy that magical device and your day just got 10x better. Buy it at 50% off and your day just got perfect.
  12. My favourite music is anything that tells a story; it could be an orchestral score to an actual film, or be a classical score which paints well-enough of a mental picture to distinguish it from all else. (As 'hippie' as that sounds.) For example, my favourite "true" classical piece would definitely be Holst's Jupiter, The Bringer of Jolity from the Planets suite: And recently I've taken a liking to Saint-Saëns' Dance Macabre, even though I usually like more upbeat and positive moods in my selection: Dan "Thread, I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship." Smith
  13. ^Normally I'd agree, but the media seems to be reporting on this quite well.
  14. ^I remember MADtv doing a sketch like that; I'm all for a "Small World: Revenge of Satan's Undead Dolls" overlay! Splice together some Vincent Price voice-over work to make a load/unload spiel and we're set.
  15. I'm a sucker for Western themeing, and this TR delivered.
  16. I don't actually think mine were impacted, but they were VERY close. Having all four teeth grow in "NINETY DEGREES!!!" tends to speed up the process. It's been a week today since I had the surgery and I've moved up to burgers. The only thing stopping me from a near-full recovery is again that cheek thing, but it seems to be going away. On the con side, there seems to be more pain coming, but it's likely not dry sockets and dammit nothing can stop me from having my precious food! Dan "My greatest gift is metabolism..." Smith
  17. Pfft, you kids and your alcohol... why not do something that Old Man Dan over here doesn't have to wait three years to partake in?
  18. On one hand, damn you for going to all these places I so desparately want to visit. But on the other... Quote win. Also, happy birthday!
  19. I really like the promotion at the end of the video. Recruitment!
  20. Well, the right side of my mouth seems fine, it's the left side that's still in a bit of pain and preventing me from closing my jaw the whole way, therefore preventing my long-sought-after consumption of solid food. Ever bite the inside of your cheek? It's kinda like that, but involuntary and constant. The stitches should just be falling out or something within the next few days.
  21. ^Funny, I think Anne Hathaway is the most beautiful actress today.
  22. Agree, and also add Angelina Jolie to the list. I never got the appeal of giant pseudo-pouty lips; having a reaction to multiple bee stings shouldn't come off as all that sexy.
  23. #8 may also be the scariest Robb picture aside from him constantly attacking food at at least one park per trip. He wins.
  24. ^1 hour = 60 minutes, therefore 1/4 hour = 15 minutes. The aforementioned people (I can only assume) apparently thought in percentages, as if there's 100 minutes in an hour and 1/4 of that is 25. //The More You Know
  25. Ever since I passed through the Gatlinburg area for the first time in 2007 (and had no idea it was there), I've wanted to go back and actually see what it was all about. It's these little attractions, some cheesy, some grand, all adding up to be a great draw in one area that I'd LOVE to experience one of these days. Thanks very much for doing these reports!
