  1. Maybe it has nothing to do with "being able to afford to add more." Maybe it has more to do with that being exactly what the parks wanted. Not every park has to build the tallest, and fastest of everything. Smaller parks can get new coasters that are "smaller" or "shorter" than average coasters, and it works for them. If Cedar Point were to get Krake, it would be ridiculous, and if Heide Park were to get Valravn, it would be out of place in the park. That being said, as well themed as Krake is, I could see it or something like Baron 1898 fitting in well at SDC... Not because they "can't afford more." But because it is small enough, yet still packs the "new coaster appeal" that the park would be wanting. Even with it's 3,486 inversions??
  2. I've been on Millennium Force, front row, in pretty heavy rain... and it was miserable. It hurt so bad. Also been on Maverick and Wicked Twister in the rain. Both in front row. Wicked Twister in the rain, in the front row was weird. Spiraling straight up in the rain was really unique. Fun enough I rode it several times in the rain! (It was a walkon!)

  4. I seriously laughed out loud when I read this. -------------------------------------------------- Except me! I love Magnum, 3rd fave in the park after Maverick and Millennium. Magnum RULES! I actually have new found love for Magnum. We rode it this season, after we "learned" how to ride it where we don't get brutally injured, I really enjoy it. It's one of my favorite coasters in the park.
  5. My favorite Coaster Trains are Top Thrill Dragsters. (Mainly the Red Train.) They are so sleek, incredibly comfortable, and really pretty.
  6. Every year we spend thousands... creating a light show on our house... Causing hundreds of thousands of people to drive by our house and tune their radio to the appropriate station to enjoy the lights synchronized to the music. We have already started the programing for our 2016 light show. It takes about 20 hours of programming per song and we have 38 songs we are doing... It's going to be a long year before next Christmas. However it is all worth it to know that there is someone out there who is enjoying something they couldn't do for themselves.
  7. Doesn't look any more steep than any other modern B&M coaster. Also, the support is like that for clearance of the track turning off the MCBR underneath it.
  8. Marathoning implies they stay open for more than a couple rides at a time. And while they are waiting in line for Maverick, Millennium Force, or Top Thrill Dragster to reopen... I'll be marathoning Valravn... and I'll be enjoying the GREAT ride it provides.

  10. And that's the problem. 99% of the people using them are doing stupid things with them. I have watched, and SEVERAL occasions someone get on a ride like Big Thunder Mountain or Expedition Everest and wave around their selfie sticks like a golf club nearing hitting people having to duck out of the way. I'm so glad that Disney and so many other parks have banned them. I too am glad that Disney and many other parks have ban them. There is NO reason... EVER that a SelfieStick should be on an amusement park attraction. But unfortunately people will ignorant, and at least by banning the SelifeSticks they are preventing someone from hurting themselves, or someone else!
  11. I wouldn't consider TTD to be an "maintenance nightmare." Yes, it was a maintenance nightmare when it first opened, and for many years after that. But in the recent years TTD seems to be running MUCH better. Aside for some minor downtime here and there, which ANY coaster can have, I'd say it's finally running rather well. When we were at the park this summer it only broke down ONCE, which only caused about 15 minutes of down time. . . Compared to Maverick, GateKeeper, Raptor, Rougarou, and Millennium Force which ALL were down at some point during our visit for maintenance reasons, and all for at least 30 minutes or more.
  12. You know... I may be in the minority here... But I see NOTHING wrong with SelfieSticks...................... When they are used correctly, and when they are used for what they were intended to be used for. I will admit, I have a SelfieStick... Only because I got it for free. But I can not tell you how useful the SelfieStick was on family vacation in NYC. I was able to get really good family photos without having to ask a random stranger to take the picture for us, and we never had to have someone from our group miss out on being in the photo, so they could take the picture for us. With that being said, I made sure I was never getting any anyone else's way, or causing an issue when I used the SeflieStick, and I would NEVER in a million years take a SelfieStick to an amusement park. I guess in the end I do think SelifeSticks should be ban in ALL amusement parks for the safety of others, but when used correclty, and when used for what they were designed for (great group photos without having to have someone else take the photo) then I think SelfieSticks are a great invention.
  13. No. Have you ridden a Strata-Coaster??
  14. Back to the Future: The Ride. Swimming, or Snorkeling?
  15. Wait... So it's NOT RMC doing the refurbishment?? I think it is. They just contracted B&M to do all the work for them... It's about time. This has potential to be the best coaster ever built.
  16. It was an iPad. Not a computer. And it was occasionally checking. Not staring. However, the roast turned out great, my partner loved it. Thanks for being concerned about our dinner!!
  17. As if I haven't said this before, but Kentucky Kingdom is quickly becoming a "Must Visit" park for many coaster enthusiast. Can't wait to visit this park for the first time next season!
