  1. "You're not fat... You're just easy to see." ... .....
  2. I think maybe he just missed a zero when typing that. (Typo's happen.) According to manitowoccranes.com The people who make the crane... say that it can lift up to 400 tons. Granted, I don't really know that much about cranes, I'm just going based off of what I have read...
  3. Forget the bolts; how is the train going to navigate that gauge change? Oh dear... That looks... AMAZING!! For a "smaller" coaster it is going to provider a nice punch during that drop.
  4. Unless you have been on any RMC coaster. Most RMC coasters give El Toro a run for it's money. Outlaw Run's drop is amazing!! I prefer it over El Toro.
  5. I wouldn't call maverick smooth. Maverick is a very smooth coaster. However, it's transitions are very abrupt, which could give it a "not so smooth" feeling.
  6. Reading and looking through your report has officially put this trip on our bucket list. Can't wait for more!!
  7. I do still love roller coaster and most flat rides! I'm not a huge fan of spinning flat rides any more... but that's just because they always make me feel so sick. The older I get the less spinning around in small circles I can handle.
  8. I actually have been stuck upside down on a ride. It was the "Spin Out" ride at a local fair many years ago. We spent about 35-40 minutes upside down. Turns out during the ride cycle someone's pocket knife came out of their pocket, and got wedged in the gears of the ride causing it to stop rotating... leaving us dangling upside down. The only reason I know it was a pocket knife is because the ride operator eventually got the pocket knife out of the gears and asked "WHO HAD A POCKET KNIFE ON THE RIDE???" ... and they were really not happy about the situation. The ride I was stuck upside down on was similar to the one in the picture below, and we were stuck in the position shown in the photo. It was NOT a fun experience. All the blood rushing to my head gave me a horrible migraine, which put an end to the day at the fair for us.
  9. I highly doubt it. I venture to say that the colors will get as faded as Raptors were before they do anything about it. (But this is just an assumption.) I mean look how long it took for Raptor or MF... or even TTD to get repainted. Look how bad they looked before Cedar Point did anything about it.
  10. I'll add Buzz Saw Falls to the list!! However, it was replaced by an even MORE amazing coaster, so not complaining!
  11. I KNOW we have had a topic like this before! (Or at least really similar!) EDIT: Found it! (Not trying to be a "backseat moderator," just trying to help out.)
  12. Some of my votes go to: Top Thrill Dragster, and Millennium Force... Mainly because at those speeds the track must be glass smooth. Honorable mentions: Diamondback at Kings Island WildFire at Silver Dollar City GateKeeper at Cedar Point (Basically ANY B&M coaster) Call me crazy, but none of the RMC coasters fall under "Smoothest Coaster I've ever ridden" unless I am only sitting in a seat that does NOT have a wheel below it. But since I can sit above a wheel, and have a "not so smooth ride" then I can't vote for them to be the smoothest.
  13. It's all good! It was just misinterpreted. However, I agree with you. I think it is crazy that machines can lift that much weight. I can barely lift a back 24 pack of cokes, and here this crane can lift 400 tons!
  14. Yes. Have you ever laughed so hard you peed??
  15. No one said anything about the engineers not knowing how to do their job. We were simply discussing HOW they might POSSIBLY install the next few sections of track.
  16. Engineers, man. No. More like researching the and finding out what the maximum weight the crane can lift at one time... and realizing that 4 track pieces put together do not weigh more than the maximum weight the crane can lift at once. It's not "trying to be an engineer" ... it's being able to take the information provided... put two and two together... and get a result.
  17. Looks at how many pieces they lifted into place for the lift hill at once. Also, the Manitowoc 16000 crane they are using can lift up to 400 metric tons at once. I doubt it would have a problem lifting 4 track pieces at once.
  18. I'd assume they will do it the same as they did the lift. The will probably put up the support, and use smaller cranes, and guide wires to hold that in place while they use the big crane to lift the last lift hill section, the crown of the lift, and turn into place all at once, connecting to the one vertical support that the smaller cranes, and guide wires will be holding in place.
  19. Love the look of the slides!!! I'm also personally glad they are not watersides.
