I sure hope it's just the camera/angle that is causing that! -

It will be a wood/steel hybrid structure. This is just a rendering. There is still a possibility that the structure will just have the metal scaffolding structure like Goliath. I mean... Goliath's original rendering. The actual product: (in case anyone has forgotten) -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
DoinItForTheFame replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd go with late-ish August. At that point most schools will be back in session, so less vacations to Cedar Point at that time, and less locals making Monday/Tuesday day trips to the park, so overall the park should be less busy. -
Best Coaster Layout

I guess it just depends on what your personal definition of "best layout" is. -

Looks awesome! Glad you got it up and running! I think you may find the ride more stable if you would have made a different kind of support for each side of the tower. Instead of having one large pole that goes up, try spreading out the supports a little and creating something like this: That should solve the issue of the supports wanting to bend and wobble.

Best Coaster Layout
DoinItForTheFame replied to DarienLaker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
IMO. . . I do not think that MF has the "Best layout." Sure it may be one of the "Best Coasters" for height, speed, length, and smoothness. But in all reality, its layout is just banked turn, airtime hill, banked turn, airtime hill, banked turn, airtime hill... There are not that many different elements on MF for it's layout to be "the best." -
My kings island itinerary for 2016
DoinItForTheFame replied to Calvin6670's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I do agree with the post above! I use to make a "to do list" or an "itinerary" for every park I visited, and as soon as I got to the park that would change. Every plan I had made would be out the window and I'd just ride things as I came to them. With that being said. . . Yes. Lunch is going probably going to be a good idea when you get hungry. That depends on who you ask. After our visit this year (as crazy as this sounds) we thought Backlot Stunt Coaster was one of the best coasters at the park. It was by far one of the biggest surprises of our trip. We rode it more than we rode any other coaster at the park. After Backlot Stunt Coaster, our second favorite coaster at the park was Firehawk. We rode it almost as much as we rode Backlot Stunt Coaster. 1.) Don't try to plan out every second of your visit. Sure it is good to have an over all idea of how you want to do things, but having a very set itinerary is going to change as soon as you get to the park. Just have fun, and ride the rides as you come to them. 2.) You need to edit your "list" to include Backlot Stunt Coaster, and Beast!! 3.) As for lunch, if you are driving to the park try taking an ice chest with you. Get a parking spot close to the entrance to the park. Put things like lunch meat, snacks, and drinks in the ice chest. Leave the ice chest in your car, and go back out to your car for lunch. That will save you money, and it will save you time not having to wait in the really long lines that develop at food locations through out the park. -

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Sooo... I have not said anything about this whole "STR IS GOING BYE BYE. . ." thing yet. But it's time I break my silence. While I was not the biggest fan of STR. . . I also didn't hate it. We rode it once during our last visit. It wasn't super awesome but it was fun!! However, it was only fun that once. I feel like if we would have rode it again it would have just been boring. Hopefully whatever Cedar Point puts in STR's place will be amazing!! I vote for a 790ft polar coaster. (Obviously it's 790ft so shortly there after Six Flags can build a 800ft polar coaster that is a few feet taller and steal anither world record from Cedar Fair.) -
