  1. I'm starting to find that this thread is getting just as bad as the VF and WoF threads. Every year it ends up with the fanboys complaining about wanting a new coaster. It's only been 6 years. At my home park, it has been 16 years since our last big coaster. I'm sure this thread will explode if the drought hits 10, let alone 16 years. Delirium will be a great addition. The park isn't forgetting about thrill seekers. Shockwave is gone, but this will be a much more comfortable and re-rideable experience.
  2. Geauga Lake was the broken condom that was thrown away. Wildwater Kingdom is the child that they don't want and are stuck with.
  3. Volcano still got added though... Albeit 20 odd years late Not even much of a volcano as it is basically a concrete wall. It took 20 years to pour concrete.
  4. Actually there are 8 drive tires, so even if a couple need replacement, it would be possible to run the ride. I'm suspecting a motor blow out, because that is the only other major component that would cause issue.
  5. Unless something went down in the last week or so, all coasters have been up and running. As you aren't doing the water park, definitely hit Ride of Steel first. Maintenance wise; it has been very consistent this year, but because it has such a complex computer system you just never know. Also hit Motocoaster early. It only holds 12 people per train, and it doesn't help that the second train hasn't run in years. For Predator, the further towards the front of the train you ride, the more smooth the ride is. The back seat is extremely rough but the airtime is amazing. As long as Viper is running 2 trains, it is a people eater. Hope you enjoy your trip. Edit: Golddisk, how long has the giant wheel been down? It is literally one of the most simplistic rides to keep running. The only time I ever see it shut down is in the rain.
  6. Lines usually tend to get long on Saturdays. There are no concerts or anything, but it's going to be a nice day and Saturday is the busiest day of the week for the park. There isn't any skip the line pass so unfortunately you'll be stuck in longer lines. Expect: 45+ minutes for Ride of Steel, Blast Off, Motocoaster 30+ minutes for Predator, Boomerang, Mind Eraser 20 minutes at the most for Viper (only ride running two trains) and Rolling Thunder. These are all just estimates based on my previous visits, sometimes the lines will get that long, sometimes you'll get lucky. It all depends on the time of day. If you are doing the water park, I would suggest getting there early. Brain Drain (our newest slides) can get over an hour and a half wait if the queue is full. Big Kahuna also gets long wait times as the day rolls on. I know you're a huge fan of log flumes, so I would suggest hitting that early too, as the line can get long there as well. As you are staying the whole day, there is a laser show after the park closes.
  7. Lol, I didn't even know WoF announced anything new because of all the fanboys whining that they didn't get a coaster again. Between this and Valleyfair, a drinking game would just be toxic. WoF saw that their family area needed an upgrade. They already have a decent collection of coasters for a park their size. A hyper, a B&M, a spinning coaster, and a GCI woodie added in a short period of time is why the park is not in need of a coaster right now. The time will come. Cedar Fair obviously also doesn't want to take as big of a risk as I have heard many reports of the waterpark being a major draw here, rather than some of the dry side.
  8. I think that Cedar Point deserves an apology from her. To give the park a bad rap like that just for her own publicity is uncalled for.
  9. ^ I believe that was for the Air Race model, this is a little different. Very cool. I always wanted to get on one of those Skyhawk models. Looks like I will have to squeeze in an unexpected trip to Wonderland next year after all.
  10. Wow, I wasn't expecting this but it will be a great addition for sure. Seems as though the industry still has a bit of a rift with Huss, but Mondial has produced one of these for Wonderland before, and it was a lot of fun.
  11. What the **** is wrong with people??? If a sign says Do Not Enter, it means DO NOT ENTER. Is it really necessary to state the reasons why on the signs too? The fences aren't there for decoration either. If the park builds a fence, they are trying to keep you away from anything dangerous.
  12. ^Yes they do. SFA was actually rumored to be getting new trains too fairly shortly. I think it would be funny if DL stood Six Flags up and got new trains on our model before theirs which would definitely put our version higher up on the coaster rankings. ^^Josh, I'm drawing a blank right now. MF has the double buckle seatbelts right? I think that's another reason why CP can get away with running their Intamins without side brackets.
  13. ^That's right, I do believe that some states have them officially banned. I know for sure that Massachusetts did after an accident they had at SFNE. Then all three Superman models got the new restraints. I'm not sure about NY, but it may be banned here too after our two incidents, which did not have anything to do with the restraints not working really.
  14. I still think these would be perfect: Source: http://www.fotocommunity.de/pc/pc/display/1332897 No brackets, simple T bar.
  15. Good god, has Six Flags let those trains go to hell or what? And they were only two years old when that photo was taken. The restraints could be a possibility though. They still have the side brackets, but no center post. That could allow for some more freedom and leg room.
  16. ^ Normally the lighter color paints are the ones that fade quickly and get ugly. Darker colors not only hold up better, but they also tend to keep a lot of their tint when they fade. I have to admit that at first, the layout seemed kind of bland, but it definitely is growing on me. Not sure if it can beat Nitro (my number one B&M) but it could come close. Especially seeing that the latest B&M designs have been a little more forceful.
  17. That's what I've been saying this whole time. Some people are overthinking this too much. The only differences between Intamin's first and second gen hyper trains are the addition of a zero car, a slightly flatter design, and some other minor mechanical features. Of course, Intamin will pop whatever restraints the park wants onto the trains, but why do away with the lap bars? They have been a safe and effective form of restraint on multiple coasters for years now. Besides, an OTSR like restraint will be even less comfortable to some larger riders and I can already see the complaints happening from most of the GP.
  18. Bizarro and Expedition GeForce were two of the early Intamin Hypers, and their new trains were lap bar only design. My money would be on those. I've heard too many people complain about both the OTSRs and Skyrush's restraints.
  19. Getting new trains would be the perfect time to retheme the ride and spruce up the area. An RoS paintjob has been in the works for at least 5 years, but has fell through because of management changing hands and money issues. That's why some of the track/supports near the station looks new. It was supposed to be repainted in stages, but never past stage 1.
  20. I know the park just got a new waterslide last year, but maybe they will again this year. Cedar Fair is adding these Proslide SkyBoxs like crazy. The teaser directly says drop in it and that's what these things do.
  21. I feel like it will be a good, popular addition, but when I heard it announced I was like, "That's it?" They definitely could have had another small addition, similar to what Darien Lake did this year (One wet, one wild promo).
  22. ^^ Ten bucks to ride Thunderbolt? You would be better off just walking in the city and having a hobo kick you in the nuts for free.
  23. Martin's and Seabreeze seem like kind of a stretch for the same day. How long are you planning on staying at Martins? I would suggest getting there at opening and staying about 2- 2 1/2 hours max. Seabreeze is the bigger park and has more to do/experience.
  24. GCI will probably recommend MF trains if they do the work, because they are much lighter and the track will last longer. Not only that, but they are trailered and articulate and maneuver the elements better. I think that Gravity Group w/ Timberliners could be in the works too, as they are another spin off of CCI. Either would work out well and make the ride much better.
  25. They moved Twisted Colossus to SFNE? Wow, two RMCs in one park. I have to get back here. No worries, names are pretty similar. Nices pictures BTW.
