Just a little tip for future posts. Try and break up your posts into smaller paragraphs to make it easier to read. I kept getting lost in the post because I was skipping over lines a lot. I am glad to hear that the park got Plinko. I saw it earlier this year at Cedar Point and thought it would be a cool addition anywhere. Where exactly were the exit pass people seated? Hopefully not in the front or back, because that will cause a lot of issues and angry customers. I like that the park got the game, but they need to find a medium as to how many of each prize can be given out. Also, yes, Floodgate Falls cannot be removed if the park wants to preserve the hill. They cannot just fill in the hole with dirt, because it would be too unstable. But luckily, if the park decides to use the plot for expansion, they would most likely remove the hill anyways. There isn't really much that can be built over/around the hill.

Nope, I did, and with a paint job to Bad Apple, that area could come out looking really nice.

I found the Os a little strange as well, but my bets are still on JL: BFM. If it really is, it surprises me that Six Flags would install more of these considering that the St Louis model is still ironing out issues. But from what I've heard the Texas model has had a lot less downtime. I'm sure that the issues will all be resolved by next season though. The folks at Sally are really good with adjustments and fine tuning.

I did watch the video, and I am still on the side of McDonalds for this one. No matter the exact temp of the coffee, when you purchase a hot drink you should be expected to know that it is hot. The woman is still at fault for spilling the coffee. Especially trying to open a lid to a flimsy cup on a slanted seat. The cups have spouts for a reason. Yes, I do feel bad for her, but I wish that I could have sued every time I burned myself on a hot surface for being too hot. Trying to shift this back on topic, people should be held against for their own actions. Don't hop fences that say do not enter, and don't attempt to open a flimsy cup in your lap with a hot liquid inside.

Or the lady that sued McDonalds for not having a hot label on coffee cups. Then there's somebody who sued a fast food place for only getting one napkin with their meal. The list just goes on and on. If people just used some common sense and follow the rules, there wouldn't be so many restrictions and dollars wasted on safety warnings everywhere.

Hopefully they do not go through with the cancellation. I know the article says indefinitely, but it does sound like the park is set on moving it back. I think that everyone (GP included) has waited long enough for the announcement. With the coaster wall, now the teasers coming from the park, an incident like this should be overlooked going forward, and the best way to bring spirits back up is by announcing the new attraction. Don't ruin things for other people because one idiot made a poor decision.

I know that a lot of paperwork has to be filed with the police, insurance, etc, but there are paying customers, some travelling far distances, who come to the park wanting to experience everything. They shouldn't have to miss out because one person cannot follow the rules.

Yes, I live here 15 minutes from the park and they are great! They have them on Titan as well. But there's no way to have them on a inverted roller coaster like Raptor. We don't have them on our Batman inverted clone here, there's too much space between the rider and the seats in front, and mechanically, there's not a place to mount it on the back of the seats, and the folks in front wouldn't have a place. I was thinking something along the lines of zip tying them to the restraint handles. I'm sure that somebody would find a way to break it or something.

They're there but people still carry their phones in their pockets. I think you're giving people too much credit here. I thought so. Right after I posted I realized wait, if people cannot read signs with big block lettering, how can we expect them to know what the pouches are for. Maybe they'll think its a garbage bag or a puke bag or something outrageous.

Am I correct in saying that SFoT still has the pouches on NTAG? If so, have they been preventing loose articles from getting lost? If more coasters had these it could be a very cheap, possibly miracle working solution. Pencil pouches can be found anywhere for like a dollar, and a bag of zip ties is not expensive either.

Jon Stewart, why couldn't you stay just a little bit longer? I have a feeling that this will bring up some horrible reporting from news stations.

Beautiful Pictures! One of the loveliest trip reports I have ever seen. This really makes me wish that CP was not 4 hours away from me. May I ask what camera you use? I'm looking into investing in one and your pictures were outstanding.

Here we go again... Another case of people not following the rules. Parks do not spend thousands of dollars on fencing, signage, and warnings for people to ignore them. It's the riders own fault in the first place for not keeping his loose articles off to the side or in a zippered pocket. Then to blatantly disregard the signs and hop the fence? Come on, how stupid can a person be? Hopefully the "investigation" (which even an autistic dog could figure out) can occur quickly and the ride will reopen without much backlash from theme park haters. Maybe I'm being harsh or selfish by saying this, but it is unfair to people who travel far distances, and pay a lot to get in the park, to have to miss out on attractions because of others' stupidity. My prayers go out to the family, but this was a TOTALLY avoidable incident.

^ Well, nobody is exactly sure that Twister is on the way out yet. A big difference between this ride and some others is that parts are still being made for this model. Top spins have a lot of parts that wear out, just like parts on a car. Bearings need to be replaced every 7-8 thousand hours of use. I know that our model has had braking issues. The brake caliper struggled trying to hold the gondola still. That could be from a leaking pneumatic line or worn parts in the caliper. There are other severe problems that models have been plagued with, and finally may be affecting ours. Corrosion and cracking has been known to happen.

The Premier launchers have a really good value for what they can offer. Yolo only cost 6 million and that has some pretty insane technology to it (top hat loop, multi launch). I can see the park building a Free Spin and LSM coaster in a short time period, but I'm still not a fan of the Free Spin. Remove Goliath from SFNE and pop one in there. Or even Great Escape.... Lol am I drunk? Great Escape is never getting a new coaster even if Alpine Boblsleds rots to the ground.

I'm not so sure about that. At first all I heard was people loving the ride. Now it's about 50/50. Some people think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, and some say it is extremely painful and horrible. These are great additions for smaller parks, but GAdv deserves better.

IMO, all rides that have magnetic brakes (excluding Dragster) should be able to run in reasonable rain. Since there is no contact between the brake fins and the brakes, it is a fail safe system that rain would not affect. But if the rain picks up hard enough to slow rides down considerably, or the kicker tires slip under the trains, then they would have to be shut down. When I used to work maintenance at Darien Lake, Ride of Steel would often shut down in the rain because of two reasons. A) The trains would slow down early and crawl through the brake run causing an error on the PLC. The brakes only released when the train reached the kicker tires, which could take over a minute. B) The kicker tires slipped so much that the train failed to park right in the station, causing an error or E-stop.

I wish I could've watched yesterday, but Big Brother was on at the same time . Hopefully there will be a link online soon, because this seems like an interesting show.

My one friend who lives in Texas told me that he had a bad experience on Batman as well. He said on one of the inversions, he slammed on the restraint and it was pretty painful. I think that because each cycle is unique, some rides will be rougher than others. Some may have inversions in areas where others don't, and it could be a little uncomfortable. I am pretty disappointed if this is truly the addition, because SF can do so much better. I know that their financial status is not the greatest, but Great Adventure is not a park that deserves a smaller scale ride like this. It's about time that they get something large again.

^Money-wise, yes. Attendance-wise, no. DL was the only Six Flags park with a hotel, a campground, and a PAC. When SF started selling properties, they were going for the lower producing parks by attendance. One reason why DL was dumped was because SF believed that the extra profit that they made off of the property would be taken away by the upgrades needed to the park. Many of the aging rides needed costly maintenance. Most buildings needed to be painted or refurbished. Many of the RVs in the campground were going to be replaced by newer models. Total infrastructure rework. Those are just to name a few.

Six Flags is in no real financial state to buy any properties at this point. Even if they were, it wouldn't be worth it to them because Darien will likely cost a lot more money than it's worth. It's different for Herschend because they are in a great financial state, and they would be willing to invest all of the money needed to bring the park up to their standards. I just wouldn't be able to see SF investing in areas like the Boardwalk.
