^If that's true, I just hope there isn't a pattern that all SFGAm rides will go to SFA, like Iron Wolf did. I wouldn't be surprised though, because when I went last year, most rides at the park had like 45-90 min waits, and Ragin Cajun had no one. If anything, IMO I think V2 should go, because it has low ride capacity and it's practically a kiddie coaster now without the holding brake. And I hope Orbit doesn't close because it's one of my favorite rides in the park!

Indiana Beach Visit (first time)
yay101 replied to Chicago's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've never been to IB at night, so I don't know what it looks like at night. Those pictures are pretty good. And actually Steel Hawg isn't 60 ft but 96 feet, although I get what you're saying. And is it true that the swings are on the water again???? Last year they were not too far from Steel Hawg, and Falling Star was in pieces next to the coaster as well. Good report. -
Rides you would ameliorate?
yay101 replied to CPmillenia94's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Here's my list: V2 Vertical Velocity (SFGAm): Operate the holding brake. Demon (SFGAm): Replace the OTSRs with lap bars and have the last 3 cars go backwards. American Eagle (SFGAm), Racer (KI): One train forward, one train backwards. Raging Bull: Remove the trim brake on the first camelback hill to make more airtime and speed. Maverick: Either install lap bars, use I305 restraints, or go AquaTrax! Vortex (KI): Make the boomerang loop and the helix at the end less painful somehow. Maybe new trains would help. Anaconda (KD): Remove the spirally section after the brake run, because they hurt. Mean Streak and Hoosier Hurricane: Do Iron Horse treatment or demolish them. Hurler (KD): Demolish it please! Blue Streak (CP) and Viper (SFGAm): Two of the best wooden roller coasters I've been on, and this is just my opinion, but I would like to see a tunnel and use of headrest-less trains with no seat dividers, seatbelts, or individual lap bars! Little Dipper (SFGAm): This is just my opinion, but I personally would have loved to see the original ramp and the lever-operated brakes operate on the ride, just to maintain its authenticity, and I don't see the point of the seatbelts on the ride. -

Magnum XL-200 is my all-time favorite coaster! And yes I have been on Apollo's Chariot. Both are great coasters, but I think Magnum had better airtime, and my thighs were completely fine on the ride. I didn't have any problems with the ride. But that's fine; opinions are opinions and I respect them. Great trip report, I love the pictures of the animals since I didn't see then when I went last year. And great pictures of the roller coasters too! -
Bø Sommarland, Norway photo report

That was a great report. I found the Sea Monster slide in the kid's area clever in particular. And please do Djurs Sommerland and Fårup Sommerland reports please! -
Indiana Beach Visit (first time)
yay101 replied to Chicago's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That was a great and accurate post. Did you take pictures? And, having SFGAm being my home park and having been to IB before, I can testify that the lines are shorter at Indiana Beach, one time I waited 59 seconds for Steel Hawg, no joke! Also, did you ride Double Shot? That is my personal favorite ride in the park. Better than Giant Drop! -
Unique Coaster Elements
yay101 replied to OrientExpressForever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The freefall drop of Verbolten was completely unexpected, but I loved it. I still find, on X-Flight and Gatekeeper, the dive drop and the flythroughs to be very strange. Finally, back to BGW, the interlocking loops on Loch Ness Monster are very messed up. From my 2012 DC/King's Dominion/BGW trip. -

^Really? That's great, what is it exactly that you want to do? I used to want to design roller coasters, except I'm terrible at geometry and trigonometry, which you need to design roller coasters (the only class I ever got a C in) or otherwise you would design roller coasters that either collapse or kill people. I still remember everyone in 8th grade on Graduation night wishing me good luck with my future roller coasters/theme park, but as of this moment it doesn't look like I will be involved in that in my career, although if I could design roller coasters properly I would.

GAME: What's worse than...

A law stating that you must be 18 years of age or older to sit in the back row of a roller coaster. What's worse than the Blue Streak and Magnum XL-200 being demolished? -
Then they would get millions and millions and millions of people a year and it would be one of the best parks ever! (Unless they build terrible coasters) What if Six Flags Great America built the tallest coaster in the world? (Other than the fact that Kingda Ka won't be the tallest anymore.)

Game: Careful What You Wish For

Granted, but during your ride the brakes fail and you crash into the train/car (I'm not sure which) ahead of you and die. I wish I would have ridden Déjà Vu at SFGAm before it went to Silverwood! -
Favorite Coaster at Cedar Point?
yay101 replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1.) Magnum XL-200 (it seems no one gives this ride any notoriety anymore...) 2.) Raptor 3.) Blue Streak 4.) Maverick 5.) Top Thrill Dragster 6.) Gatekeeper 7.) Millennium Force (yes i know it's not #1 in my list...) 8.) Wicked Twister 9.) Mantis 10.) Iron Dragon 11.) Gemini 12.) Cedar Creek Mine Ride 13.) Corkscrew 14.) Mean Streak -
1.) SpongeBob Squarepants Rock Bottom Plunge's first drop. Great airtime. 2.) Maverick's first drop. Close with SpongeBob's drop though. Also great airtime. 3.) I'm not sure if these count, but the airtime hills of Magnum XL-200 grouped together provide completely insane airtime. 4.) Jack Rabbit's 2nd drop of the double dip; it provides great airtime. 5.) Top Thrill Dragster's drop - you watch MF below you one second and the next you are yanked towards the earth and drilled into Earth's core.. 6.) Grizzly (KD)'s drop, if you sit in the last row, it provides insane airtime. 7.) Griffon's drop. If you're in the front row, it is the scariest thing ever. 8.) Cornball Express' drop, if you sit in the last row. Like Grizzly's but less intense. 9.) Mantis's first drop - for some reason I really love that drop. 10.) Batman - the Ride (SFGAm)'s first drop. It gradually gets more intense as it curves downward.

Dinosaur. Space Mountain (Disneyland) or Space Mountain (Walt Disney World)?
-
"Angels" - Within Temptation - or at least trying to since YouTube is slow...
-
That was very disturbing, although I have seen real dead babies. Plus I saw this just after I ate...big mistake on my part.

Aisle seat. Front row or back row (on a roller coaster)?

A 5 megaton bomb in your toilet while you're on the toilet. What's worse than Six Flags taking over Cedar Point and removing every single ride? -

Having a bird poop on you while you're on a roller coaster...didn't that happen to Fabio once? What's worse than building clones of Anaconda (Walygator) in America? -
From what I heard yes, but I don't know cuz I have yet to go there. Will Walt Disney World ever build a B&M?
-
DOGS! Cats scratch too much for my liking. Turtles or tortoises?

You've written a lot of songs.

Maybe something in 3/4 time? That's what it sounds like to me. I can hear like a violin-ish slow rock song in 3/4 time with this that, or do you know the song "Buried Beneath" by Red? Maybe something like that. And your girlfriend only exists in your dream?
